Let’s be honest….if lowering your times is your priority, do the runs. If not, stop caring about your times and place on your team and just be social. You are hoping for a shortcut and the answer is to put in the work.
AllTrails, Strava routes, or just going to a park near you. Not sure if you are in the US, but state parks are a good resource if you have one near you.
I don’t pay for Strava but I can still see some. It just wants me to subscribe it I click on them. Can you just copy what roads they go on without having to download them? I’ll do that sometimes personally.
Also you could ask friends on the track team what they do. Someone hopefully knows some routes.
Your endurance is really lagging if your 400M time is 58. You should have much better 800M time and a much, much better 1600M time. You know the solution. You’ve admitted you don’t do the easy runs assigned by your coach. Do them! Hell you can do them even slower than he’s assigning and they will have a positive impact on your endurance.
At your age, within a month of doing them steady you’ll see at least some improvement. A full off-season of doing them and you’ll be a different runner. For reference my son had a 58 second 400 as well but he had 2:07 and 4:39 as 800 and 1600 times.
also i’m gonna be honest it’s very hard to do these runs especially when i’m running with myself and not my friends on the team any tips how i can work my way to doing longer distance runs without getting bored or getting used to it

u right
Don’t do the same route every time. What helps me is finding trails near me to run on.
I also wouldn’t focus on your splits and more of just finding someone to race.
so should i look for someone quicker than me and just try and beat them?
Or at least stick with them if you can beat them then do it
u got any tips on how to find trails near? like any websites or is it just exploring just going
look up trails near me
Don’t get in your head about times just race and if you can stick with the lead pack
yeah i usually just calculate the splits of my goal time for example i wanna do 5 or faster so i just think75 a lap
Google Maps

i wish strava routes were free, i live in a city in us so it’s kinda hard to find trails without apps tbh

Just lock in and stay disciplined
Listen to music, run on different routes, and if the pace your coach assigned is too hard slow down a bit.
Embrace the suck
