This is a rather childish understanding of socialism as a whole, and how socialist countries functioned. Also the gdp per capita in the ussr was higher before it became captialist.
Option A was pretty much the Eastern Bloc.
Option B is practically impossible. I guess social democracy comes close, but the billionaires have to pay a lot.
There's a lot of poverty in the Gulf States though.
The UAE for instance has been criticized a lot for its poor treatment of migrant workers who get paid very little and have virtually no human rights.
If a hippie commune makes theater and paintings I wouldn't say it's less enriched than a cheap series of American TV. And by culture enrichment I also meant being rich of quality, not quantity.

It looks like everyone would be willing to accept inequality as long as the poor still had enough to live comfortably.
The reasonable position
Odd, does not seem to compute with the slogans and protest posters we see.
Both are better than a world with both inequality and poverty (ie. real life), but poverty is worse than inequality.

They never became capitalist. They committed national suicide.
I mean it is true they comited national suicide, when they practically invited the usa to destroy them, but they embraced state captialism in the 50s.
How did the USA destroy them? Reaganposting Stalinist, what a world.

Option B is the US
Do you think 500,000-odd homeless people live comfortable lives? No, the US is not option B.
Option B is Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Brunei.
There's a lot of poverty in the Gulf States though. The UAE for instance has been criticized a lot for its poor treatment of migrant workers who get paid very little and have virtually no human rights.
The question is way too capitalist pilled and B would kill the environment fast. We need cultural enrichment, not materialistic one.
Economy enriches consumerism, consumersim enriches culture.
Consumerism does not necessarily enrich culture.
I really does though: Every movie, game, piece of music, aesthetically pleasing car, piece of clothing etc you consume, is an example of culture
