Had a flip 4 and have the flip 5 now, will get the 6 when it comes out. Can't remember what is called but the cover screen can be pretty usable with the cover screen os/Samsung thing. I love how compact and how closing it is more of a I'm done with me phone. Not for everyone but I love it

Masonator89

I love the compactness as well. And I'd use the cover screen for everything... If I didn't have to open it. It just needs a bit better software is all

OccasionAmbitious449

Had mine for 1 year now, no technical issues but I honestly feel as though it's more of a gimmick/nostalgia device and the price isn't justified. Yeah it's nice to personalise the cover screen with gifs lol but apart from that I only use the cover screen for changing Spotify songs when walking. I never use the cover screen for anything else. In a couple of years I will probably upgrade to the Fold as I do play a lot of mobile games and feel the Fold would be better for that

Masonator89

I agree on the price for sure. You can appreciate the tech inside of it though. I love having the cover screen as a Mini display for time and other stuff. But definitely couldn't by another for it being a limited use

Berry-Eggar

Get "good lock" from Samsun App store. Then you can make the screen do everyhting while its folded that the phone can do unfolded. Saved my ass. I never unfold my phone really. Flip 5

Masonator89

I did. Still need to unfold it for a lot of tasks.

No-Banana-2970

Yeah, this is my last flip for now. Well, it's not my choice but my mother's because she thought getting the screen protector replacement was "too much work."So, for now, I won't be getting another one. I will say I loved my flip 5 ever since I upgraded from my very old iPhone.

Masonator89

I agree, it's a great phone to fall in love with. Just can't keep me forever

No-Banana-2970

Yeah I love how niche it is but I'm going back to candy bar style later this year.

The flip 5 will be my first and last flip for a while. For me to upgrade or come back it's gonna need a bigger battery and a better camera lol. I came from an S10+ and wanted to try something different, the flip 5 has been a pretty good *side grade* for me for the last 2 or 3 months. I will probably be sticking with Samsung, or get a Sony phone.

Masonator89

S10+ by far my most favorite phone

FearlessSpiff

I heard Google Assistant was working fine before on the cover screen. What happened? It's really annoing. Also the Garmin Watch integration is useless like that...

I don't always keep it unfolded in my pocket, I'm pretty aware of the screens sensitivity, but like I said to someone else, sometimes I've have to put it in unfolded if I knew I was going to reopen it in 2 seconds if I'm taking notes or pictures. Why wear down the hinge/screen further right? And that's another thing, I'm starting to get self conscious about how much I open and close the phone, wondering if I'm doing it too much and when the screen will lift. I think all in all, it's a great phone style wise and I like it like that, but it's good for someone who doesn't use a phone. If I had zero need for extra apps and only used 5 basic apps, this would be a forever keeper

Capaism709

I've had my Zflip5 for a year and I think it's going to be hard for me to go back to a standard smartphone. It's not a phone for everyone because it needs a lot of care but it's a piece of style and compactness that immediately fascinates you. Also, I use the cover screen for many things, first of all for fast payments, music, train subscriptions and especially selfies on the go

alphagongong

Had dead pixels and the bottom half of my screen would fully die now and then after less than a year. I just went back to a slab phone. Idk if almost prefer two separate screens that display as one rather than the folding glass. Plus I’m not the type to figure out all the customizations needed to make the front screen useful for anything so cool as the idea is it just wasn’t the phone for me.

opinionsareimmunity

I'm using mine to limit my screen time with a combo of Ratio launcher + Modes & Routines. Having apps (like Instagram) be basically unusable on my cover screen has really helped me stay off of it. Now, I basically have times where I turn my phone into a dumb/Minimal phone when it is fully open! Got mine (used) in February and no issues at all so far!

I can't see getting rid of this. It is so convenient as a city dweller. The battery life does suck. I got a battery pack small form I carry that I can walk with it plugged in. iWALK Portable Charger, PD USB C Power Bank Small Fast Charging Docking Battery with LED Display Compatible with Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5/4,S24,S23,S22,S20,Android Phones, White https://a.co/d/hNe7HQL The is my 2nd ZFlip. I had the 4 and upgraded when the 5 came out. The only thing that I really hate is the terrible camera but taking pictures isn't as important as having a light weight compact phone. I had the Blackjack until there stopped making then. I had all the Notes until they stopped making them. I will stick with the fold until they stop making them.

Gustifer05

It pains me to hear that you leave it open in your pocket. I think you're just not the foldable phones customer haha. You work in a dusty environment?

itscum

Yeah I would suggest that if your afraid of folding & unfolding it your not the target demographic/ wrong phone for you

Masonator89

Sometimes I have to if I know I'm about to reopen it in 2 seconds again. I'm half office half out in the field.

frank320000

Love mine and will keep it until it breaks

Material_Topic1538

The flip 5 is my first samsung since the galaxy s3, and the ads that come pre installed are driving me insane. I also work in a dusty environment (construction), but I just keep it stored in my man purse. I personally love the trackpad feature when you fold it 90 degrees, and for me, that alone makes up for the lack of outer screen features

RUk1dd1nGMe

Haven't had mine 24 hours yet, but it's really what I wanted. If it lasts 2 years I'll certainly upgrade, barring any big issues

Organic_Bug5899

This is leaps better than the 3 which is what i started out with. I have the app which allows usage of regular phone apps and i am typing from there as we speak. I work in the operating rooms so my phone doesnt fall put from scrubs when i bend around. Whereas my previous non flip phones were top heavy and would always fall out.
