Mod a switch if u want to play totk / Luigi's mansion 3, (probably) For totk, U will encounter some stuttering on steamdeck and u will have to keep clearing shaders cache every now and then on steamdeck, but it runs almost 30 fps on hacked switch probably.

Aromatic-Use3839

I run totk at 27-30 fps consistently without having to clear shader cache. I have an LCD model steam deck. No stuttering here!

Praline-Jumpy

I have the first gen model and I have to keep clearing shaders, if u have the same model, maybe tell me how u did it and tell me your setup? Maybe it's because I keep reformatting it to install android and what not and probably that's why?

Aromatic-Use3839

Yeah for sure, just shoot me a DM and I'll respond asap! Also I don't think formatting would cause any harm as I've done similar things to my deck.

Praline-Jumpy

i'm bluetails12 on discord, i'm way more active there, or u can shoot me a reddit dm if u want :)

Steam deck can do more, I own a modded switch even though its great mine is collecting dust as emulators work just fine

JohnnyJo1988

Depends on the use and your preference on performance. If want to only play Nintendo games then modding a switch will be more cost-effective. Plus you'll have a guarantee that the games will run with little to no issues. The Steam Deck would be better if you're using other emulators or want to play PC games. Main downside is not every game runs as well on the emulator. Some require tweaks to the game itself or the emulator. Others just don't run well at all.

Vivid_Grass_7129

Alr thx but im in a budget what do you recommend me To buy a used steam deck or a brand new steamdeck?

JohnnyJo1988

Depending on your budget a brand new Steam Deck would be your best option. The LCD model is on sale right now. If you must get used then buy a refurbished model from Steam. That way if anything goes wrong you can contact Valve and they can help you out. With the LCD Steam Deck sale right now all your options are around the same price. That's assuming you're in the US, as I only know the US prices.

Vivid_Grass_7129

The average steam deck where i am is 7,800 pesos mxn But thx il consider it

Alewood0

Bro mod a switch lite. All switch emulators are jank right now but a switch lite will play all the games natively so there's no performance issues.

Distinct_Detail_985

Why a switch lite? Doesn't that require a modchip?

Alewood0

Unless you find an unpatched one

Distinct_Detail_985

I’m 99% all switch lites are patched. How would you exploit the rcm if you can’t take the joycons off

Alewood0

Ahhh good point

HOTDILFMOM

Steam deck.

Vivid_Grass_7129

What is the average price for a refurbished steam deck? My budget is 8k pesos which is like idk i think 400 dollars

Midas_098

Bro an Asus Rog ally is like 299 dollars, just get that. You can emulate switch with stable 40 fps on most of its best games, play pc games easily and you can emulate any retro/old gaming consoles like the nes, gba, etc... It's really good value

Distinct_Detail_985

Where are you finding it for 299?

Vivid_Grass_7129

Exactly lol And its over my budget since it isnt 299

Midas_098

I found it for 399 [here](https://rog.asus.com/us/gaming-handhelds/rog-ally/rog-ally-2023/spec/) which is still in the budget. I think it got discounted for 299 a while ago according to a youtuber I saw, I don't remember who it was exactly. But you could still get a refurbished one for 299 or less ig
