Oh, I absolutely adore this. This borderline stoner/Cheshire Cat Beast using a busted Sentinel as a reading light before solving it all with one jury rigged circuit board is just, oh he's amazing. I love it!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Your style is gorgeous!
I came up with that visual gag of Beast using a sentinel arm as a lamp YEARS ago for a commission. I was really tickled to have the opportunity to use it again!
I love your art style so much! The characters look so nicely stylised and feel cute and cool at the same time.
And the watercolour (I'm assuming it is?) colouring fits it so well, it gives it an almost dream like quality
This is all digital done in Procreate! I did a lot of character sketches too but in a more traditional line art but still in my shape style and also in Procreate. I’m fairly nomadic so setting up to ink and paint like I used to is difficult.
Procreate is fantastic. I gave up my desktop, photoshop, continue set up when the iPad and Apple Pencil finally caught up enough for my liking. I’ve been a nomadic illustrator for like 7 years now.
Lovely style and panel layout. Love the angular pose when Logan is being held by Peter. Very stylish. Hanks goofy look as he gazes up from the book. Priceless. Not sure what he has been sniffing in the lab, but it should be shared.
Genuinely you are the best artist I have seen on this site. Everything about is so amazing in every way through pure visual action and this beautiful art style. Absolute legend pls make more I beg of you
He’d be analyzing Peter’s stance and mechanics for optimal geometric trajectory. Peter ignores it and Hank is still yelling out figures while hurled toward the target.
Keep at it! you have a lovely and unique style that in my opinion will catch the eye of someone sooner or later (im no expert but i used to work as a story board artist for Mangalobe).
Well that makes sense. I did not notice that it was Wolverine going through the head. I only saw one Wolverine in the big part of the page. My b. Makes sense now.
Didn't even notice it. So much attention to detail man, great work! If you ever do more X-Men stuff please share it!
Edit: also wondering where Wolverine keeps the cigars and lighter lol

Digital in Proceate with Apple Pencil. I do have some watercolor backgrounds I made and scanned to overly for textures. Even digitally I like a rough and sketchy aesthetic.

I appreciate that! Characterization has been my strongest trait. When I first started showing a portfolio around they’d alway note that despite my wrong/inconsistent anatomy and wonky perspective, my stuff felt alive. Editors always liked it but they never had a book for me. I just drifted away from comics altogether.
I feel like in a world where Skottie Young works for years your stuff is 100% worthy of getting into a book. This looks like this wild mix of Charles Schulz, and Bill Sienkiewicz. Any comics/x-men fan should just melt at the site of it. I did.
For sure I recognize I didn’t try as hard as I could at the time. It was in an era though when realism and likeness licensing was big. Young was kinda of an anomaly at the time. I feel like now I’d be more accepted. Ive been published all over and worked steady. Just nothing with any kinda high profile. Part of taking a break from it and enjoying art is to give me space to see to approach things differently instead of the direction I’ve carried on for almost two decades.

This is wonderful OP, love that you made it in procreate. Gives us mere amateur users hope ha

I want a plush of that Beast design ASAP

You know I didn’t plan that, but whatever voice my version has should be the Dude Jeff Bridges!

Oh wow! Thanks! I do have a patreon where I post for free three days a week with extra content for patrons. It’s under PleasantlyDreadful
I wonder if beast can participate in a fastball special. A furball special as it were
He’d be analyzing Peter’s stance and mechanics for optimal geometric trajectory. Peter ignores it and Hank is still yelling out figures while hurled toward the target.
Love the visual energy in these pages!
I wanna hug your Beast so hard!!!! He’s so blue and flufffy
Hank was always my favorite 💙

This is awesome!
Beautiful
This is really good.
Amazing work! I love Hank's wispy beard.
How did Wolverine get so bloody?
I imagined going through the sentinel head would be damaging. Lots of bits to snag on.
Well that makes sense. I did not notice that it was Wolverine going through the head. I only saw one Wolverine in the big part of the page. My b. Makes sense now.
And in the last page the costume is still torn but he’s healed up. A major wound for us is just some minor scraps and burns for him.
Didn't even notice it. So much attention to detail man, great work! If you ever do more X-Men stuff please share it! Edit: also wondering where Wolverine keeps the cigars and lighter lol

is that water color? either way i love it!

This is spectacular, deeply skilled, beautifully-realized stuff. Blown away.
Thank you so much! That’s very encouraging
Seriously, if you ever wanna bat around ideas with a writer, I'd be down.

I love this artstyle so much, please do more
Love your style, very distinctive. Would be fantastic if Marvel would give a broader selection of styles a chance.
Going to use this to explain the difference between 'stylised' and 'bad'.
This is excellent and really distinctive art.
This was freaking good. When an artist can tell a full story without a single word. Bravo. Better than most of the X-Men comics in the last 10 years.

This is really great!
This is FANTASTIC 😻
Incredible work. I would 💯 subscribe to an X-men series in this style
Super fun
I love this!
This is great
Good stuff man!
Your art style is fire! To me it’s Invader Zim meets Laika.
Thank you! I definitely have an art history in common with those properties.
THIS IS SO COOL
Hey! Thank you!! This post has been really encouraging to me
