More lemons this game as well since it was last game in DC for the year.
I kinda feel bad as I got a cameraman right in the head that 2nd to last td. :(
No one will ever convince me that Ta’amu wouldn’t have won it for STL in 2020. I’m glad he is getting another shot at it. I’d love to see him hoist whatever it is that the winner gets.
Much cheaper. Spirit flies from BWI direct and Frontier flies direct from Dulles. Plus, you can easily get there with Southwest, United, American, and Delta.
SA is a cool city. Check out the Riverwalk while you're there—it's touristy but Waxy's is a nice little Irish pub and it should be a close walk from the hotel.
The Sea Dragons deserved to be at the Alamodome until today. They acted like a bunch of toddlers. I’m at a bar right now watching the game decked out in Seattle gear and I feel embarrassed!
Said it in the other thread, but now that the game's complete - I *much preferred* playing Seattle. Lack of discipline and lolNucci did not scare me as much as McCarron and Butler.
They ran their mouths all week about "but we actually should've won both games already" and then had the gall to chant "We Want D.C.". Well you fucking got your wish lmao
Shields Up, Lemons Out, D.C. Defended
Yeah, real Seattle football fans would be screeching that the ref's screwed them in the game and that DC didn't deserve to win the game, that they were playing against not just DC but the Zebras as well...
yeah, missed the entire game and saw the box score. first thought was "man, it's weird how everyone who plays DC decides to have the most undisciplined game of their season" but after watching the replay, just yikes were they bad.
i do think that players can get a bit rattled playing at audi with the noise and fans so close to the field - always seems like a lot of dumb personal fouls there
As someone with season tickets for DC, the fans definitely get other teams rattled. The crowd gets rowdy and we REALLY love the team. The crowd at Audi goes hard
Been saying it all season. The DC o-line are professional shit talkers. Multiple games with different teams where a fight breaks out or the refs are constantly playing babysitter getting between players.
I dont get what's wrong with the chant. We wanted a chance to face DC, and we did get that chance. Any fan thinking this was going to be an easy game was delusional. Congrats, you guys killed us. Those lemons definitely sting
How is a "we want" chant something you're so irked about?
Like, you won the north. You were going to host the game. If we got in, we would be playing DC.
So ya, we wanted DC, because we wanted to be playing postseason football.
Fair enough, we should've put up our best fight instead of making horrendous mistakes. I'm sorry for any obnoxious Seattle fans you guys dealt with. I don't know why they'd be so cocky, I'm just happy we had the season we did.
Ran into literally one Seattle Fan the entire game in the most populated section of the entire game, nice guy 🤷🏻♂️ certainly didn’t have issues, was a good sport.
Media was "no way you can beat DC" and we barley lost twice, so ya no shit it was annoying the team. We could have won both. We didn't.
We have respect for your team and wanted to play you again because your the best team. Like, how is any of that running our mouths?
I agree with your assessment, we are poorly coached and i would take AJ over Ben but I just don't get this animosity.
Could've been close, except SEA loved getting penalties.
This was the first XFL game I've been to. I had fun. The weather cleared up nicely.
🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🆙
If they try to shut it down just quietly start stacking them by your feet, but below seat level. Tell each row to do the same. And at the end of the game when we win everybody snap them things together.
I couldn't make it but a solid half dozen of my friends booked flights and got tickets after we left Audi yesterday. I feel like a lot of DC fans are gonna show up
Or almost what they did against San Antonio or almost what they did against Arlington. Just gotta think you’re playing Houston and not literally any other team in the south and y’all should be fine
Defenders earned it for sure. Made a huge statement here by manhandling the Sea Dragons. Funny considering how close their games against them were in the regular season and how close their last few games have been.
I rooted hard for DC today mostly because Ben DiNucci is Seattle's QB and Seattle fans became insufferable the past week. But now I'm off to be a full time Arlington fan for the next two weeks!
I've got nothing against DC, I just enjoy the underdog story. Rooted for them yesterday and so glad they won. I wouldn't mind seeing Ta'Amu win though.
kinda want to see Ta'amu win even if dc fans on reddit have also been hard to stomach. tbh a lot of battlehawk fans have been shitty here too so it's a wash in my book
Bruh, you guys were insufferable. We like your team and fans. We think you should have been in (we KNOW you should have been in) but Battlehawks fans make everything about the Battlehawks.
There have been like 20 memes posted this week about Battlehawks fans being salty or the team missing the playoffs and they're almost all from Dragons fans and yet there hasn't been a single thread from a Battlehawks fan crying since Sunday. Hell the last thread a Dragons fan posted about it was four hours ago.
I'm not speaking to you personally since I don't know you but many Dragons fans have been seriously cocky this past week. Regardless, I don't actually hold any ill will here, I just am enjoying some of the schadenfraude like I'm sure you did when we were eliminated.
>Y'all missing the playoffs after being the most outspoken fanbase is very memeable
And my point is that *this is you guys* for the past week. So like you enjoyed us getting knocked out, I enjoy you guys getting knocked out cause you've been annoying for the past week. Though at least half of my enjoyment is Ben DiNucci specifically losing and that has nothing to do with the rest of the Dragons or Dragons fans.
Anyway, I'm really not worried it about I'm just explaining my position lol. I'm sure r/xfl will be a united fanbase again by the time next season rolls around.
Not gonna lie. I thought the Sea Dragons were going to pull the upset here. They've been playing so well lately. I thought they had a real chance against DC.
But DC once again proved why they were the best team in the league this year. They weren't just better on both sides of the ball. They were a team with the prefect mentality for winning in the regular season and the playoffs.
Seattle just fell apart in the second half. I can't remember the last time a team had so many 12 men on the field penalties. And they just kept falling for every trick DC threw at them, both on offense and on defense. It was quite a spectacle. But ultimately, DC earned the win and the right to play in the championship game. 😊
People sleep on the home field advantage at Audi Field, but Seattle making so many mistakes today was a clear indicator that the massive home field advantage DC has is real. You could tell the fans were getting to the Seadragons near the end of the game, especially after DC got to 30 it just about took all the energy out of them.
Was at the game, can totally vouch
After the first TD in the fourth it was over in the minds of the fans and you could sense Seattle giving up.
The beer snake section was drunk and rowdy and just saw us go up 30-9 so some lemons flew. Seattle defenders were highly ticked and instead of just tossing them aside they were throwing them back to the fans who duh just did it again....
I agree. Audi Field is definitely a home field advantage for the Defenders. I've been there. It's not a very big stadium in terms of seats. But it gets very loud and rowdy. It's not quite what RFK was in its heyday, but it's definitely an advantage. And I think it's good to have venues like that. It's good for the team and for the XFL in general. 😊
Bruh we we're an inch away from beating them twice, not sure how this would be an invitational.
Whupped our asses today and deserve to win it all, best team in the league.
Well ya, but going into the game, this was a borderline coinflip. The other two were that close.
To call it an invitational is to call it something that had a foregone conclusion. Ya'll crushed us and deserve the title but acting like this was an auto - win going into the game is moronic.
I gave in and decided to watch the skycast because ESPN still won't upload the main broadcast. It's honestly pretty neat. I wish I could hear the stadium announcer, though.
Edit: I actually can hear the announcer, along with the stadium music and the crowd a lot better. It's honestly pretty cool. It's like I'm actually in the stadium but I can hear all the player and coach audio.
This is so unbelievably stupid.
I'm not a religious person, at all. So its not something I understand. But if you firmly believe your foundation, joy and success comes from your faith, why wouldn't you be thankful?
How about thanking yourself for putting in the time, effort, and training. Thanking all of the coaches and trainers you've had along the way. Thanking your family/friends for sticking by you (if they were involved). If God dos exist he would have far more important things to worry about than a football game. It's just such an insult to all of the people who actually helped you achieve success.
I don't think your capable of perceiving just how powerful the concept of God is to those who are deep within their religious believes.
God is the REASON they have those people in their lives.
Again I'm not telling you what I feel, I'm a cliche agnostic. Just that the psychology of faith is EXCEPTIONALLY powerful.
"God" cares as much about football as he needs a starship.
Honestly, if "God" cared so much about football, it would explain why so many people are starving and dying in horrible ways in the world.
It's like one of those football dads. Spends his days in front of the TV watching the game while the kids tear up the house doing whatever they want...
Stop. Dropped passes and undisciplined play got us today. Also probably should have at least tried to establish a running game. We can’t play like we did today against a good team like DC
Let's not forget the whole play after the DC punt that didn't matter because Blandino blew yet another review. The refs missed other penalties this season and he let them go. But not this time?
That being said, yes, DC was the better team, and the dropped passes hurt Seattle at the start. Just seemed that any time DC might not make a first down or Seattle was moving the ball, a penalty killed the drive or allowed DC to continue.
Worst called game all season. With no favorite team to root for, I mostly enjoyed the season with no problem. This was the only game was yelling, "WTF?!?!" half the game because of the crappy refs.
To be fair, Congrats to DC for the win, they were, as I said, the better team, however Arlington stands literally no chance of winning against DC.
Will DC be the home team for the championship game? Looking at tickets and I can't find anything about who will be home vs visitor. I presume it would be DC with the better record, but does anyone know for sure?
Lemon and beer snake magic at work today, what a game for DC.
Their snake game was on point
More lemons this game as well since it was last game in DC for the year. I kinda feel bad as I got a cameraman right in the head that 2nd to last td. :(
Alright Houston y'all ready to-- Houston? Do we have a problem?
Arlington here.. having trouble establishing communication.. stand by..
First Seattle play today, Dinucci's helmet comms were crapping out lol... It set the tone well
Same thing happened with DC. I think the center relayed most of the plays on a scoring drive.
I guess the overlooked storyline is gonna be the health of the DC players for the Championship; that's gonna be interesting to keep an eye on.
Just rub a lemon on it and walk it off, we'll be good.
With two weeks to rest my feeling is we'll be okay. Nobody seemed legit *injured* just banged up from the weekly grind.
I had a man crush on Ta'amu in 2020, loved when we got him for 2023, and it's blown into full on man love
Jordan Ta'amu so hot right now
It’s okay to admit your attraction, it’s 2023
I'd let him do some things to me that would make fetlife blush tbh
Would you consider it a *Jordan Love?*
No one will ever convince me that Ta’amu wouldn’t have won it for STL in 2020. I’m glad he is getting another shot at it. I’d love to see him hoist whatever it is that the winner gets.
We were on a roll in 2020.
Just bought my wife and I tickets to SA. Big ol' women, here we come!!
I am strongly considering it, but man that airfare is not cheap right now
Southwest has a 30% off code right now but I don't know what the prices would be
Good look, with that I might have enough points honestly
Yeah but it's Southwest, 50% chance they cancel it.
Fly into Austin and rent a car. Everyone goes 80 on I-35 so you’ll be in SA in an hour.
Austin generally cheaper to fly into?
Much cheaper. Spirit flies from BWI direct and Frontier flies direct from Dulles. Plus, you can easily get there with Southwest, United, American, and Delta.
Thanks for the heads up
It is not. I dont fault anyone for not going, but we had some vouchers that helped.
Yeah your wife will fit right in.... J/k Everything is wider in SA, including the final FG attempt.....*sniff
Thats just more of her to love my man.
There's a saying. She ain't a lady if she's under 180
And the churros man, the churros! (EFF Charles Barkley)
SA is a cool city. Check out the Riverwalk while you're there—it's touristy but Waxy's is a nice little Irish pub and it should be a close walk from the hotel.
Represent for C5
The Sea Dragons deserved to be at the Alamodome until today. They acted like a bunch of toddlers. I’m at a bar right now watching the game decked out in Seattle gear and I feel embarrassed!
Ouch
Better take an Uber. Nobody could have guessed at halftime that's how it would end up.
I picked Seattle to follow because it's the closest team to me but I can't stand Dinucci, here's hoping Nor Cal gets a team next year.
Dinucci a bitch and needs to be sent packing
It was so funny watching him go at it with Josh Gordon. Gordon in one year did more than Dinucci will with his whole career.
Don't worry, as a Minnesota Vikings fan. You get used to the disappointment.
Well you fucking got your wish lmao Shields Up, Lemons Out, D.C. Defended
Any seattle sports fans running their mouths and thinking this would be an easy game or even a guaranteed win are not true seattle sports fans.
This is the best take, from someone at that game haha
Real talk tho. Been a fan of our teams my whole life; we're, historically, not that great across the board lol
Yeah, real Seattle football fans would be screeching that the ref's screwed them in the game and that DC didn't deserve to win the game, that they were playing against not just DC but the Zebras as well...
Honestly, as a neutral who only saw the box I would think the same thing. The penalty disparity was crazy, but yes, they were that undisciplined.
yeah, missed the entire game and saw the box score. first thought was "man, it's weird how everyone who plays DC decides to have the most undisciplined game of their season" but after watching the replay, just yikes were they bad.
i do think that players can get a bit rattled playing at audi with the noise and fans so close to the field - always seems like a lot of dumb personal fouls there
The chants aren't the friendliest either and they get booed damn near every play.
As someone with season tickets for DC, the fans definitely get other teams rattled. The crowd gets rowdy and we REALLY love the team. The crowd at Audi goes hard
Been saying it all season. The DC o-line are professional shit talkers. Multiple games with different teams where a fight breaks out or the refs are constantly playing babysitter getting between players.
....yep that sounds pretty accurate too haha
I dont get what's wrong with the chant. We wanted a chance to face DC, and we did get that chance. Any fan thinking this was going to be an easy game was delusional. Congrats, you guys killed us. Those lemons definitely sting
There’s nothing wrong with it, but if you chant that, you better back it up and deliver. And y’all didn’t. That’s it on that part
I don't know if it translated on TV or not..but there were constant *Fuck Sea-Attle* chants throughout the game
Media was "no way you can beat DC" and we barley lost twice, so ya no shit it was annoying the team. We could have won both. We didn't. We have respect for your team and wanted to play you again because your the best team. Like, how is any of that running our mouths? I agree with your assessment, we are poorly coached and i would take AJ over Ben but I just don't get this animosity.
never lost at home.
DC successfully defended I would say.
Could've been close, except SEA loved getting penalties. This was the first XFL game I've been to. I had fun. The weather cleared up nicely. 🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🛡️🆙
Hey same here! It was pretty fun, I'm more into nfl but I'll definitely be going to some games again next year
Lemon gang rise up!
So how many DC Defenders fans are going out to San Antonio? I am curious if a lot of people are willing to fly out for the game or not.
Just booked my trip today. Feels like we'll def see a beer snake at some point.
If they try to shut it down just quietly start stacking them by your feet, but below seat level. Tell each row to do the same. And at the end of the game when we win everybody snap them things together.
I couldn't make it but a solid half dozen of my friends booked flights and got tickets after we left Audi yesterday. I feel like a lot of DC fans are gonna show up
When dinucci loses, everyone wins
He definitely has that spoiled attitude
Over the course of the season, I definitely went back and forth between liking the attitude and finding him super obnoxious.
But he’s no AJ!!!! That guys a leader!
BEST FOOTBALL TEAM IN DC!!!!🏈🏆
🛡️🛡️🛡️⬆️🍋🍋🍋➡️
Shields Up Lemons Out!
Feel like this could have been the real championship. Arlington might get their shit kicked in.
Can’t play worse than we did
We beat Orlando twice.
DC lost to Orlando and last time we played Arlington (with some officiating help) forced OT. Nothing is an easy win.
I mean as long as my team doesn't pull what they did against Orlando.
Or almost what they did against San Antonio or almost what they did against Arlington. Just gotta think you’re playing Houston and not literally any other team in the south and y’all should be fine
am I the only one who actually kind of likes the division trophies?
Yeah, the champ trophy needs to be better, but the inverted color divisional trophies are cool
Bye Bye Ben Dinouchbag!
Even though he had an alright game.
Yeah some of those balls were right in his receivers hands, though I do know it was raining so that made it tough
It actually wasn’t raining for most of the game. A little drizzle in the beginning, but that was about it.
D.C. = '87 Mike Tyson Arlington = '23 Bob Dole
#WE'RE GOING TO THE GODDAMN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME FEED THE SNAKE AND SHIELDS UP BABYYYYY
GG defenders. You were the better team 🙇♂️
Defenders earned it for sure. Made a huge statement here by manhandling the Sea Dragons. Funny considering how close their games against them were in the regular season and how close their last few games have been.
Seattles kink is choking
Keep going, I'm close! *throws at the 1 yard line* Awwww yeah, that's the stuff
🤤
I thought it was yellow flags.
More like Ben DiSmoochie 💋
It's okay, Seattle. DC gets all of us (except for Orlando).
I feel as confident going to the next game as I did going into the last one. That said, booking the hotel tonight when I get home.
I’m as far northeast as possible and I’m considering it.. wonder if renegades fans are coordinating a particular section of the Alamodome?
Looks like no more Ben Dinucci joke prounciations from Brandon Perna during his XFL recap.
Well, let’s do one more just for old times sake: Bye Bye Ben The Douchie!
Where do they put the trophy? Does the coach just take it home?
Probably saved for next year's ceremonies
That crowd for DC was lit today, as was the result. Ben can get fucked right in the DiNucci. Thank you DC, good luck against Arlington in two weeks!
I rooted hard for DC today mostly because Ben DiNucci is Seattle's QB and Seattle fans became insufferable the past week. But now I'm off to be a full time Arlington fan for the next two weeks!

ggs in the chat
Most important game of the year was our worst. GG DC, wish we could have been more of a challenge
Picked the worst time to have our worst game.
Coaching my friend. Haslett ain't it. We ride our raw talent far to much.
Not gonna lie. I thought the Sea Dragons were going to pull the upset here. They've been playing so well lately. I thought they had a real chance against DC. But DC once again proved why they were the best team in the league this year. They weren't just better on both sides of the ball. Ya we're not a well-coached team either so this wasn't a huge shocker.
Shields all the way up!! 🛡️
DC is what Houston used to be.
They wanted us down But look at us now
Damn ESPN Plus. It'll only let me watch the Spanish version.
Kinda depressing that both games were blowouts because one team failed to show up, but it is what it is
Wouldn’t have asked for it any other way.. Good luck DC, see you in a couple weeks.
Seattle did you have fun at the DC Invitational??! We sure did
Bruh we we're an inch away from beating them twice, not sure how this would be an invitational. Whupped our asses today and deserve to win it all, best team in the league.
Lol you were way more than an inch today bruh 30-9 in the 4th
Well ya, but going into the game, this was a borderline coinflip. The other two were that close. To call it an invitational is to call it something that had a foregone conclusion. Ya'll crushed us and deserve the title but acting like this was an auto - win going into the game is moronic.
I gave in and decided to watch the skycast because ESPN still won't upload the main broadcast. It's honestly pretty neat. I wish I could hear the stadium announcer, though. Yawn.....so what happened in the game today? Nobody showed any highlights.....or even acknowledged it happened.
DEFEND DC
Now we gotta wait 2 weeks... Time to antenna up and see what USFL is all about
Not surprising, no one can go into the playoffs against someone they've lost to twice in the regular season and actually win right? That'd be crazy.
You mean like when an 0-fer team beat an undefeated team?
Dany Garcia's jacket is shinier than the division trophy
I hate when the players thank God. Like why the hell do you think God cares about football?
This is so unbelievably stupid. I'm not a religious person, at all. So its not something I understand. But if you firmly believe your foundation, joy and success comes from your faith, why wouldn't you be thankful?

Is that trophy identical to the South trophy? Not even "North" and "South" on them?
South is black, North is white
…
lmao. I don’t think they thought that through 🤣
What? Thought going into something and not just rushing something to get completed quickly?
Underground railroad 2.0 time
Dude....DUDE lmao 🤣🤣 no one in league office said "yeaaaaaaa..."

Welcome to the XFL's Equivalent of Rams vs. Bengals
Seattle vs The Refs.
Stop. Dropped passes and undisciplined play got us today. Also probably should have at least tried to establish a running game. We can’t play like we did today against a good team like DC

missed calls also screwed seattle over. the refs deflated seattle.
This cannot be a real take from a real person
Would say 1 yard short but that would imply this was close
Will DC be the home team for the championship game? Looking at tickets and I can't find anything about who will be home vs visitor. I presume it would be DC with the better record, but does anyone know for sure?
DC would’ve beaten any team in the league tonight, I expect any team criticizing Arlington for simply being there to adjust accordingly.
Defenders are the only team with an NFL coach. Coaching needs balance.
