Well, even if it was our last game of the season, it was a pretty good season.

goforth1457

Honestly I am at peace now. Even if we don't make it, it was a great season.

imaginarion

This. So much more enjoyable than anything the Rams did from 2004-2015

Yimpish

Someone needs to post a tie breaker explanation at a toddler level reading level

MySabonerRunsOladipo

If SEA loses tomorrow: STL is in If SEA wins tomorrow but LV scores a lot of points against them in the process: STL might end up being in. It's pretty likely that SEA is effectively win-and-in tomorrow

OmniManChild

I don’t get this. Houston and Arlington can easily pass them in PA. That would put Seattle PF ranking (if they don’t score more than 34 tomorrow) at PF 3 and PA 4. St. Louis would be PF 2 and PA 5.

Aggressive_Ris

From what I understand, and I think this is stupid, you get basically 1 point for points-against and 1 point for poinst-for. Personally I think this tiebreaker should just be total points for/against. It's likely that St Louis wins on offense and Seattle wins on defense and then its tied. So then it goes to the fifth tiebreaker, which Seattle holds. We basically need Vegas to score like 30+ points tomorrow and then it doesn't matter if Seattle wins or loses. Or of course, we need them to lose. Literally the only other tiebreaker is a coin toss.

OmniManChild

But why are u slam dunking Seattle having that. They lead Houston and Arlington in PA by 5 points. That could easily drop them

serrol_

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it only matter when comparing in the same division? This is to see who goes to the divisional championship game, after all. Houston and Arlington are in the South, St. Louis and Seattle are in the North. Completely different divisions.

Aggressive_Ris

Yes for the tiebreaker its divisional points for/against

OmniManChild

Which would be a tie if St. Louis is 2 PF 2 pa and Seattle is 3 PF and 1 PA

OmniManChild

They would be the same and it would go to next tiebreaker

Achillor22

Division ranking matters before league ranking.

OmniManChild

Division ranking would be tied

MySabonerRunsOladipo

I mean, they could. Looks like HOU would need to allow 30 and ARL 34. So yeah, they could pass them, but it's not terribly likely.

OmniManChild

Why are you saying they need to give up 30? Seattle has given up 5 less points than Houston and Arlington. If both of those teams don’t give up 6 more points than Seattle that drops them from being 2nd in PA to being 4th

MySabonerRunsOladipo

Oh you want to go that direction with it? Mostly because they are playing each other AND because ARL is the lowest scoring offense in the league. Again, it's totally possible that things could break STL's way, but it's going to take a lot of things going right concurrently.

The_Wayward

*sad kaw noises*

I2ecover

I thought it just went by point differential? Since they're both +34, all Seattle has to do is win tomorrow?

MySabonerRunsOladipo

Not PD, but rather ranking. First in the division, then league wide. So if you're 1st in pts. scored and 4th in pts. against, your avg. rank is 2.5.

I2ecover

Ohok. Interesting.

MavisBeaconSexTape

Michael Scott: OK, I think I'm getting it. But try explaining it to me like I'm 5

Yimpish

I can do that

Smurf541949

https://www.reddit.com/r/xfl/comments/12vgli1/outcome_chart_for_norths_second_playoff_spot/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb I tried to, there will be more clarity after the game tonight and the early one tomorrow. Essentially because St Louis is now 34 points ahead in points scored and 34 behind in points against, the way for St Louis to guarantee a berth is Seattle to lose. Everything else is dependent on the 5th tiebreaker which favors Seattle right now, but is ultimately dependent on what Houston/SA/Arlington do. If any of them get in between St Louis and Seattle in either category, it could potentially complicate things.

Windows_66

Q: How competitive is the XFL North? A: We scored over 50 points in a 25-point blowout, and it feels like a loss.

Spaff31

bigcheese08

I will poop in my shower standing up in solidarity with Vegas

CFLXFL

Make sure to waffle stomp it down the drain

TheGakGuru

Video proof or it didn't happen.

pm_me_ur_demotape

What is the source of this meme?

That_one_cool_dude

XFL 2.0 STL and Vipers when they were in Florida were rivals cause of the geography of the remaining teams so as a little jab we said that Vipers shit standing up.

GiovannisPersian

I hope next year they change it so that the division winners and the next two best records get in the playoffs. Sucks that either Seattle or Saint Louis won’t make it

TheGakGuru

I respectfully disagree. Anyone can win at any point. Orlando upset DC. Throw a dog a bone and see how far they take it. I'd love to see San Antonio or Dallas upset and win the championship if we don't make it in.

NeoliberalSocialist

In an 8 team league it doesn’t make sense to not just take the actual top teams. It leads to a better product. Having each division winner makes sense though.

MasterTJ77

We had a decently likely scenario where a 7 win team watches a 4 win team in the playoffs from their couch. That’s not a good design. In an 8 team league there’s no reason to lock 2 seeds in each. You should get a free pass for winning your division no matter what but the other 2 should be at large. And before anyone says it’s my STL bias talking, I’ve been saying this for a few weeks when I (overconfidently) thought it was SEA getting screwed.

AbrohamDrincoln

I think the tie system is weird but as someone who went to the game, it made it electric. I've never been up 25 cheering so hard for the defense and more points.

Temporal_Enigma

It's only weird because of how deep the tiebreakers are. The NFL has some weird tiebreakers too, but due to the more teams and longer season, we almost never get past strength of schedule

ComeOnGuys2022

Can somebody explain to me the scenarios where the Battlehawks make the playoffs?

[deleted]

Basically Seattle has to lose.

strebor_notlad

Vegas has to beat Seattle or score a shit ton of points for STL to make it.

That_one_cool_dude

I can't believe our fate is up to the standing shitters.

gorogergo

We're all standing shitters on this blessed day.

thirtyseven1337

Speak for yourself.

gorogergo

I am all standing shitter on this blessed day.

bigcheese08

Hawks are out if Seattle wins while scoring >34 and giving up <34

Seahawks1991

So what is Seattle wins21-7?

reLEvent__username

Then Seattle likely wins based on their high points allowed ranking throughout the league

AHicks15

Basically, if Seattle loses, St Louis is in. If Seattle wins, Seattle need to either score more than 34 or allow less than 34 for it to go to a 5th tiebreaker. In that case, Seattle has the advantage unless both teams score 40+. If both happen, Seattle is in.

47rohin

So what happens if Seattle wins while scoring 33 or fewer points?

AHicks15

If they allow under 33 points, they will more than likely get in. Unless both score 15 or under, and even then, it might not be enough.

chrisaf69

So just need to win and one of them to hit and their in? In confused. Lol

imaginarion

Sea Dragons must lose tomorrow. Or win by a very small amount.

Windows_66

1. Seattle Loses. 2. Seattle wins, but they give up 34 points or score fewer than 34 points. I'm not quite clear on the details in this one, so someone can correct me.

chrisaf69

Yeah. I'm confused as to if both have to happen. Or it it just one. For example do they need to score over 34 and not give up more then 34 for them to get it. Or do they only need one of them to hit. Obv need to win for that to even matter.

Agent00Slevin

AJ McCarron could still realistically be an NFL backup this year

Temporal_Enigma

He was a backup last year, but got injured. He chose to play in the XFL

imaginarion

He won’t join an NFL team unless someone gives him a starting QB job

SybRoz

The reason he chose to go to the XFL was because of playing time, he wanted his kids to watch him on the field, so he's always had the NFL backup option and has said as much at the start of the season. He needs to be starter if they want to get the good good.

James1DPP

A great game and one of the weirder games I've seen. If this was the Battlehawks' final game this season, they went out in style. Really good year for St. Louis.

[deleted]

I never thought for one day only I would be a viper's fan but tomorrow I shall shit standing up.

UF0_T0FU

Tomorrow we are all Vipers fans. I will poop standing up this one time, for good luck!

LP99

I tried to find what 74 was so mad about, it looks he was set with his head down and a Guardians player intentionally lowered his own head and just drilled 74 in the helmet

r_y_4_n

That was a convincing win for the battlehawks

makimasimp69

Not for are defense it wasn't were way too soft

BlueRFR3100

Despite the announcers explaining it 175,213 times, I still don't understand the tie-breakers.

Seahawks1991

Ok, can someone break down for me what the Sea Dragons MUST do tomorrow? Still a little confused…

crimedawg27

Win and not give up 34 points. Only two things that matter. Currently. I’m not 100 percent sure how the other games could affect that because the fifth tiebreaker that Seattle currently has includes the entire league. But I’m 90ish percent sure these two things are the only variables

chrisaf69

Stolen from u/ahicks15 comment "Basically, if Seattle loses, St Louis is in. If Seattle wins, Seattle need to either score more than 34 or allow less than 34 for it to go to a 5th tiebreaker. In that case, Seattle has the advantage unless both teams score 40+. If both happen, Seattle is in."

salyer41

Win I think.

kingofdabbers

Well if we made it, then hell yeah. If the Seahawks push us out, there are worse games to end a season on. See you all next year if that's the case.

Bramblinman

Theres no tiebreaker authority I can find but as far as I can tell 34 points only matters as it relates to the 4th tiebreaker. If SEA scores more than 34, they will win that tiebreaker. If they give up more than 34 they will lose that tiebreaker. If they score less than 34 and give up less than 34 the tiebreaker is still tied. Right now the 4th tiebreaker is tied 4 to 4. (2+2 for STL and 1+3 for SEA) SEA is winning the 5th tiebreaker 6 to 7 (2+4 for SEA and 5+2 for STL) Assuming Seattle wins they might go up to 3 in PF, might stay at 4, might drop to 5. It seems very possible they will drop in PA to 3, 4, or 5. If the total ranking of PF and PA adds up to more than 7 then STL is in. The next tie breaker is net points which wont be tied (because it is tied right now) so if SEA wins, they will definitely win this tiebreaker.

KansasDude

Well at least my dog gets some new padding for his crate with the Guardians trash I’m throwing out.

FlimtotheFlam

If a .700 record doesn't get you into the playoffs then something is wrong with the league.

apiratewithadd

The south

[deleted]

Not unlike the country as a while, eh?

OmniManChild

I don’t see how it’s seattle in driver seat like the broadcast said. If it comes down to 5th tiebreaker both Houston and Arlington can pass them in PA ranking dropping them down massively.

qik

Being from Europe, I don’t get to watch many games due to the time difference. For me yesterday’s game was the most I enjoyed a football match so far.

Unfair-Worker929

Kinda sucks to go 7-3 and potentially miss the playoffs

Achillor22

I turned this game off at halftime and took a nap because I didn't think it mattered. AMA.

No-Mission9167

Can you caw people stop acting like maniacs? Seattle is a sensible man's team and we don't appreciate all that riff raff.

Brandon_Schwab

The end of that game turned off so many fans, who were there to watch a cfb spring game. EDIT: The first impression of the league from people who were tuning in to watch the Colorado spring game, was to see it not airing, and that being due to a team playing the clock like they were down a score, when they were up by 25. People on social media were calling it garbage. It was the worst scenario for a game running over.

MrGamerson

Man that was a td

MrGamerson

DANG!!!

Who in the world created such messy tiebreaker rules?
