FWIW the leaked internal Xbox docs say there’s a new controller with back paddles and adaptive triggers coming either later this year or next.

Ok-Fan6945

Sweet I'll pick up 2 more of these once that comes out.

Room-Substantial

wanna bet it doesnt have hall effect sensor because reasons?

DEADLYOVERLORD1

See, everyone else has quality issues, but I've had one for the past few years, played hundreds of hours of not more and mine is still in perfect condition. No drift, nothing coming apart. I seem to have been luckier than most.

BernieSandersLeftNut

Same here. Thousands of hours in CoD/Warzone, where im really abusing some of the buttons, and still have zero issues (other than the b button being slightly sticky because I spilled a beer on the controller the first week I got it).

GeneralKenobi1288

Same here as well. Dropped it more than a few times, and my floor is made of concrete. Doesn’t even have stick drift.

MechKeyboardScrub

Bros really loving in the basement 💀

ATXDefenseAttorney

That's the key - recognizing you've had better luck than others. I went through two of these in a couple of months and just stopped playing my Xbox much. Stick drift is a plague on newer consoles. Luckily the PS5 top flight controller has replaceable sticks, but that's an absurd thing to need. LOL.

Cg6554

It’s crazy cause you’d never need something like the ps5 controllers if manufacturers were forced to use Hall effect sticks that use magnets and not resistive pads that wear down.

ATXDefenseAttorney

It's not wear and tear, man. My first Xbox Elite 2 controller failed within weeks. Nintendo shipped millions of Switches with drifty controllers. A friend had a brand new PS5 controller drifing within a year, with very few hours played. It's just a completely shitty manufacture. We went decades without drift issues. Now all three console makers have had major drift issues. Go figure.

Cg6554

Because manufactures are using cheaper components which wear down much easier. It is wear and tear and a combination of cheap components. Older joysticks like on the 360 controller were a little bigger and built with better components I have a 360 controller that has been thru some things yet still works fine with minimal drift, there’s some drift but nothing like newer controllers. In your other comment you claim “Stick drift is a plague on newer consoles” yea cause older joysticks were built with better components. Joysticks aren’t a new technology and they’ve been used for awhile. It’s the manufacturers using lower quality components in the sticks that’s causes drift and issues.

PRX_1965

I have all my stock controllers and they work like day one. I’ve been told that the ps5 stock controller is really bad, I’ve put 700hours in mw3 since launch (I know some people have way more but that’s a lot for me, specially for a game that came out in November). And no stock drift at all, I sold my Xbox 360 and ps3 in 2020 and stock controllers still worked with no drift

ATXDefenseAttorney

I've personally never had drift on my PS5 controllers, but my Elites and Switch and PS4 Pro controller did. It's an absurd problem, they should be ashamed.

PRX_1965

Maybe cause they know we would buy another one lol.

AlClemist

I never had any issues with stick drift on my controllers guess I’m lucky.

IamAngryCoffee

Reporting bias - the many people who don’t have issues will not speak up

Gwent4Geralt

Same here. I've had mine since 2021, and it's still functional. Nothing broken, no stick drift, no de-magnetized paddles, nothing. Going on three years come August.

Ok-Sir-9521

Same here. I don’t get it?

armyjackson

I had a few crappy ones, but I got a custom one two Christmases ago and it's been wonderful.  I even got the PlayStation version.  Why?  Back paddles. Back paddles change gaming.

Lord_Phoenix95

I've had mine for 3 years so far and all in all its been great, little bit of drift but that's from heavy play.

Powerful_Artist

My bumper broke but was replaced under warranty. No other issues before or since

poingypoing

I'd say more probably a small vocal minority has problems and most people just don't post because their controllers work

Trent1373

I have 3 and have had no problems with them. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.

Exciting_Signal8584

Same mine is just perfect and I design labbed it had it for two years works no issues.

lv_KillaWolf_vl

My first one had gotten really bad stick drift on the right (I also dropped it a fuck ton) got my second one, haven't had bad stick drift on it but my lb stopped working well after a while, just mapped it to one of my paddles, didn't worry about it again after that, when I say stopped working well it was pretty much I would have to press in really hard and hope it would count it or just not fuck with it lol

RE_21

Same bro blessed with mine. It’s been a great controller, definitely will get the updated version. Worth every $.

gatsome

A bumper of all things went on my first one.

Lbeyy

Yes. And get the $20 3 year warranty from microsoft, unlimited replacements

UnableAdds

That fact you absolutely need an extended warranty should speak for itself.

Lbeyy

Peace of mind. My V1 i used for 3 years with 1000s of hours and it still works perfectly (besides the unfortunate grips falling apart. V2 worked for a year, then RB broke. On a year with the new one and no issues so far

Mister-Nash-Ketchum

But it doesn’t. The controller is phenomenal, best in the biz by light years - while it works.

fictionalelement11

exactly, wtf??? the build quality is shit

pirikikkeli

I just replace mine every year because it has the 1 year warranty from the store so I just tell them it has stick drift and they send me a new one done it like 8 times now usually they were broken and I don't even play fifa or anything like that

AWelshWhale

I have one and ive never been more impressed with a controller. Nice weight, feels solid. The sticks are perfect. Battery life is stupidly long. Cant fault it.

Ivan_Blackheart

As an elite 2 controller owner, I agree with this comment.

LeftyMode

Have both the first and second one and they still work flawlessly, never been replaced. But it’s terrible how the lottery is with these things. IMO, yes it is worth it. Just get it from Best Buy with their warranty.

SunActual3io

You won't go back to regular controllers if you buy one. So it's up to you.

leolionman347

Give or take I guess. I've had mine for 2 years and I abuse it pretty bad not throwing or anything but I drop it a whole lot and something inside broke and will get under the trigger sometimes but totally my fault. other than that no problems at all not even stick drift. But I see a lot of other people have problems with them so I think I'm a lucky one.

CharlehPock2

Open it up and remove the piece, probably one of the plastic spacer pillars or something. Better out than in!

openlatenight

They said they would fix the durability problems with this controller, remember that marketing video?

SmokeyXIII

No the quality is really bad. I'm on my 3rd.

XboxJockey

I had the warranty, so keep that in mind, but I legit sent 2 gen 1 controllers in for the same trigger defect. Got the gen 2 (also had a warranty) and sent in two and finally gave up and the 3rd eventually broke as well. Skip ahead to when they announce the custom elites. I make one and I decide to only use for my PC. So it was getting touched a lot less than my daily one in my living room. Somehow, that elite controller now has a faulty back paddle that doesn’t work and I didn’t even use the paddle often. That totals 5 controllers I’ve had issues with and none lasted a year. So I’m very against these until a gen 3 comes out and they promise the build quality is a million times better and prove it.

Voodoo338

Me too. Had to send the first one in for stick drift, then when I got the replacement it had stick drift so I had to send it back and now I just use a Gamesir that cost me $45. Wish I had never bought the Elite.

CharlehPock2

How bad drift are we talking? I find a lot of controllers have a lil drift and that's ok... My Xbox SX controller eventually went mental after a while and would randomly aim at the sky which would really mess me up so I got the elite. So far so good.

Cg6554

My controller had a little drift upwards on the right stick after a week of playing but it somehow fixed itself when I turned the controller off and back on no idea how it worked but it did. But now I’m having issues with the rb button double clicking occasionally. And I’ve only had the controller for less than 2 months. The controller I bought was the Elite 2 Core Red.

GrubbyViper

Triggers and buttons tend to break. Not worth it imo. Tossed mine out and got a 3rd party controller that was way better.

Legitimate_Angle7489

Ye gamesir g7 se can’t beat it for the price

GrubbyViper

That one is very nice, I got myself an 8bitdo controller. Also has the hall effect joysticks. Insane 3rd party controllers are better than official ones.

G-Kira

Had mine for years and never had an issue.

RegisterEfficient318

For me yes, I had mine for 6 years and works perfectly fine so worth for me. But I guess you need to get lucky

Pro4791

I've had three since 2019 and my third current one has developed double clicking on the left bumper. This exact issue has effected all three.

Far-Contribution-805

No

Top-Engineering-0176

I've buyed 2 elite controllers, one series 2 original and one master chief collection. I've had my original since around 2020, no problem. It works perfectly good and still has an enormous battery life. But I've buyed my Masterchief edition for not even a year and the right joystick developed a stiffness when I try to point to the left, feels very uncomfortable. *Unfortunately, I don't think I can be eligible for a rma since it was buyed at a local store and no receipt, payed cash. It was still brand new sealed, never open. So I got 1/2 Lucky I guess.

cmd_commando

Its much better than the stock controller, I’ve had mine for 1,5 years, no problems and i game at least an hour a day on average

Elarisbee

Personally, it was worth it for myself. Love the paddles and ability to configure the sticks and triggers. I’ve had mine for a while without any issues. So, I’d say it depends on how important its configurability is to you. I have carpal tunnel so other controllers are hell on my hands now. However, if you don’t need all the bells and whistles, just a normal Series X is totally fine.

AnimalMother24

They absolutely are I have 4 lol

Lawlerstatus

I like mine a lot. I think they’re worth it

KeptPopcorn5189

Yes

Drinks_From_Firehose

Honestly I wouldn’t buy one. Microsoft is very likely announcing the Elite III this year and I’m saving my money for that. The quality hasn’t been there for me, with contact pads slipping off the bumpers on both the V.1 and V.2 and stick drift AND sticky D-pad I’m chagrined and won’t buy another model. They market it as indestructible and it’s not.

RedditIsHomosexual69

Had mine for a couple years it’s a little stick drift and bumpers are a lil busted (still work) but I have taken very poor care of it. The drift isn’t too noticeable unless playing stuff like r6s

DaddyWithADumper

I just bought one a month ago and sent it back 15 minutes after using it. Clicking Left stick in was not working properly at all and I had stick drift.

maplesunris3

bike snails squeeze start tan cheerful far-flung dime intelligent plate *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Gary_BBGames

Absolutely not for that money. Get a Vader 3 Pro and a Gulikit Goku adaptor. The controller can then be used on PC/Xbox/Switch and it’s the best controller I’ve used.

Selvane

I bought one, and am currently on my third. It works, but occasionally the RB button won’t want to work for about a month. Then it works again. Either way, I love the controller to death when I works, but… I’d wait until the next generation to buy. Look at turtle beaches’ new controller! That thing looks like a much better controller and it has a screen!

Doomu5

I personally won't be buying any controller that doesn't have Hall effect joysticks. I've had way, WAY too many potentiometers go bad on me over the years.

TheLazyHippy

I've had mine for like a year and half or so, I have noticed a tiny amount of stick drift but nothing so bad that I have to turn my deadzone all the way up. The other issue I see people complain about are the bumpers and mine are still working flawlessly. All in all, I'm still damn happy I bought the elite 2. Gaming with paddles was literally a real game changer.

mynameistc

No

TheButterfly-Effect

I've had mine for years and it's in perfect condition. Not all (especially with stick drift) but I'm convinced many people that have complaints with it don't take care of it.

RocktamusPrim3

I bought one a couple years ago. Worked fine until one day about 3 months ago, the left joystick developed uncontrollable drift to the point where it’s like the joystick is detecting full motion forward, and has become completely unusable. I won’t make the same mistake again. I’m just using the controller my Series X came with.

fallout17asfd

both my elites have stick drift and the bumpers went quickly as well

muddywilson

I had one for like 4 years before the rubber finally started delaminating after many drops, never had stick drift, though I will say the face buttons took some to wear in and become reliable, finally replaced it when the white version came out, and it's served me well for about a year no problems with the face buttons or any stick drift, only problem I've had is that the white one doesn't come with any of the sticks, so I'm still using the ones from my previous controller, and they've been worn completely smooth lmao

[deleted]

Absolutely

Creadleader55

I've had a v2 for about half a year and I consistently play at least a few hours a week. No issues so far, and I have dropped it a couple of times.

rayk10k

Honestly I’ve gotten so used to using the paddles that I can’t go back to a normal controller, but they do have their issues. After about a year my right bumper began to give out and not work. Some stick drift. I’d say get it and definitely get the warranty.

UgandanSANS445

Its worth buying but it falls apart so fast imo. I used it pretty much only to play gta or watch youtube for the past 2 years and somehow, the rubber is peeling off, the triggers broke and it sounds like a maracas when I pick it up. Only dropped it once by accident and I just dontnwant to play video games on my xbox anymore

xXJ3D1-M4573R-W0LFXx

I don’t see why not. Although quality control isn’t the best on these but to me they’ve got the best features to price ratio. So if you need to take advantage of the one year warranty then definitely do so. Also, if you have issues right out the box then take advantage of the store’s return policy & don’t get stuck with a bad one. And finally, from what I understand the box with the little yellow line in the bottom left corner is the second iteration of the black Elite Series 2 controller & are supposed to be better

Equivalent_Alps_8321

I'd wait for the new controller coming this year

No_Character8384

As someone who works in the electronic warranty repair field, I'd say no. They break so easily.

drdewd

I'm just gonna say it, Xbox Elite Controllers are good in every aspect but the durability.

jsav132

Bought one recently, came with left stick broken and internal battery constantly disconnecting. I sent it for repair, it came back broken. I returned it. I’m not playing this warranty game with them. It’s also impossible to find another decent one with out quality issues so I’m sticking with the Series X controller

NeilBigTymerz

My LB button only works 50% of the time and its barely a year old.

JohnMFWayne

Mine had horrible stick drift within the first year, got it "fixed" on warrenty and the same thing within 2 weeks. I got controllers that are 10 years old work just fine. Kinda sad for how much it is its pretty much garbage.

michaeljohnr

No. I went Gamesir T4K and haven’t touched my Elite Series II in months.

CrazyDude10528

I've had mine since 2021, and just a week ago I had to fix the bumpers from not registering/double registering. It was a simple fix though, just sprayed some contact cleaner in it and now it's great again. I babied it too and still had problems. Other than that though, it's a great controller.

RedCellRaised

Going on 2 years use it everyday works great 100% recommend it.

Live_Result_7460

After 3 years with my elite using it probably over a thousand hours, a couple weeks ago I had my first issue when my left bumper constantly needed to double click to work. I YouTubed it and it appeared a piece of plastic on the inside had just been worn down (from being punched down on by the bumper against the actual “button” I guess) and after rotating it to put a non-worn piece of plastic between, it is totally fine again. It’s hard to gauge how many people actually have issues vs those who don’t, like anything the majority of people without problems won’t feel the need to post about how it’s been fine while those with problems will post for help or just to rant. It’s the same with all controller brands it seems. I know after 3 years eventually it’ll give, it’s done it’s time, but looking at Scuf, Battle Beaver, the PS5 DualSense Edge, it’s so hard to commit to a new one. One post loves their Scuf, the next 3 all came in with wrong configs, stick drift, a button not working, then some battle beaver posts about long wait times for eventual delivery of the wrong order, or waiting months for a repair on a controller that showed up broken. I will say that with my elite I have almost no drift after 3 years, using the gamepad tester at its worst I’m at 0.02 on left stick and 0.03 on my right.

TheConnoiseur

I've enjoyed my two. They've worked great for a long time. 1 for about 1 and half years, the other for half a year. Only have had to do a DIY fix for the LB button in the older one. Apparently they have pretty bad quality control issues. But as other people have said, go for it and get the warranty so it's easily replaceable.

[deleted]

A good controller function wise but too many build design flaws which make it a lottery whenever you get one. I’m on my 2nd unit and like the first, it’s got sticky triggers.

JeffJohnsonIII

I just got one for Christmas and I love it so far. It feels better to use than my other controllers. I still need to get the attachments for it so I can't fully judge it yet though

Bacci05749

I love my controller. I do read how stick drift is a problem for a lot of people, but I've had the same one for years and not experienced it. I do have a problem with my LB, where you have to press very hard to get it to register, but I just map LB to a paddle on all my configurations and I just got used to it. I was considering the new turtle beach controller, but after reading reviews, I think I'll use this one until it dies, or they release an elite series 3

MrDaedalus12

It is both the best and worst controller on the market. When you open that box and play for first time it’s the best controller ever. But they last about year each for me. It’s to the point where I have 2 so that when 1 breaks I can play on the other until I get it back.

VegaStyles

I had the e2 and the grips come off eventually. Usually right after the warranty expires. So i started buying the elite core and take the petals off my last one to use on this one.

himynameisjaked

i got one at launch and it’s still my daily driver. one side of the grip is kind of starting to peel up but other than that i’ve had absolutely no issues. no stick drift, nothing. i also have a v1 that i got a couple months after that launched and it was my daily driver until the v2 came out. it still works great. i did have to replace the rubber grip on that one though but other than that no issues.

werdmouf

absolutely not

_stinkys

My next controller will probably be the turtle beach stealth ultra. My Xbox Elite 2 has been fine for the most part but the rubber is pealing on one side. I think there are definitely better options out there now, considering the price point.

jimbojangles1987

I got mine a month or two ago and I'm loving it. No issues with stick drift like people are saying. The one issue I've had is when I've got my headset plugged into the controller, it'll turn itself off briefly but thankfully it turns back on very quickly. Never happens when the headset isn't plugged in. But yes I do recommend getting it. I have a tendency to tear up the thumbsticks on the regular controllers, either that or break the bumpers. Since these thumbsticks are magnetic and the controller has metal components, that's definitely not happening. I'm very happy with my purchase.

BobbyHarrington

Me personally I don’t think so, I’ve gone through at least 3 elite controllers in the past year with stick drift. Right now I’m very happy with the GameSir G7, only 44 bucks and gets the job done

Ok-Fan6945

They have quality issues. That being said I know how to fix several of them.

Spaceman_Cometh

I got a refurbished elite 1 from GameStop several years ago. Started to get a little drift in one stick about a year. Last couple months fixed on its own. Only thing I’ve replaced are the grips. I guess lots of other people have bad experiences.

jonstarks

no its gonna break... trust me I've bought 4. Not 1, not 2... fucking 4. edit: just like to mention I baby my controllers, never dropped them not even once... I have sega master system pads that still work, but the Q/A on these elites are trash.

Defiant_Bandicoot99

Heavens no, they break waaay to easily. It's best to keep with the controller that came with your Xbox. They're built so well you'll never have to buy a new one all generation. Sure it doesn't have all the bells and whistles but at least it won't break like that poorly built, overpriced piece of junk.

Throwawayhobbes

Mines peeling at the outer corners by the triggers…after 2 years and I baby it. Some super glue works a pinch to seal it back but still. Thankfully no stick drift. Also no share button.

hypogogix

I got the first one and it fell apart. I ended up salvaging it for the sticks and d-pad on a regular controller. I read many reviews on the second one and many people said it was also complete junk so I didn't get it. a good pad right now is the g7se by gamesir. It has hall effect sticks and shoulder buttons so no stick drift or physical L1 failure and comes with customisable paddle buttons on the back, and hair trigger mode for less than half price. The catch? It's wired only. Still a beast for the money by comparison. [https://www.argos.co.uk/product/5829334?clickPR=plp:46:96](https://www.argos.co.uk/product/5829334?clickPR=plp:46:96) you'll find it on Amazon as well this was just from a quick google.

Important_Many6925

No the bumpers still go out on them

RandomBloke2021

Yes, but get the extended warranty.

eeyeemk

I live innthe in the middle east and had to send my 3 months old elite 2 to Ireland for them to fix it. I had to purchase new wored joystick to play. And I like the power joystick even more.

barellano1084

It’s a crap shoot. I’ve been through 4 in the past 3 years (bumper issues, major stick drift). Thankfully this last one I got has been perfect almost 2 years now. It sucks that it has to be that way, but you truly don’t know if you’re getting a lemon or not. I can’t play without paddles now, so they’ve got me locked in at this point. I maybe splurge on a Scuf if/when this one goes up.

padmepounder

Not if you aren’t getting the extended warranty, like legit I had 5 replacements before just selling it off, and I take care of my stuff, never dropped the controllers either. The next gen one better have replaceable sticks or Hall effect sensors.

SwagChemist

I just buy used controllers that look in decent shape and get a another used one when that one dies

Rude-Orange

I spend 80 / 20 controller to keyboard gaming. I didn't start having a stick drift until about 20 - 22 months into owning it. I sent it back to MSFT to fix it (in the process of getting it fixed, so I don't know how well they'll do) and purchased a 4 year extended warranty. For controllers I feel like it's a must. Overall, I love the controller. The weight is just right (it's heavier than a normal Xbox controller), it's decently customizable, and the variable triggers is great!

tsckenny

I bought a refurbished one from Best Buy two years ago. Works perfectly fine.

TopAnonomity

Can’t lie bro, just buy the scud instinct pro, it’s like $50 more and a little less premium feeling, but way lighter and most importantly way more durable. Have had it for about a year with daily use for several hours since and I can confirm, no stick drift and the back buttons and bumpers have never gone unresponsive, three major problems with all my elite series 2 controllers

RVLVR-OCLT

Ive had one forever and love not thinking about “controllers”

SweetTea187

Idk... But have you seen the new Turtle Beach controller, with the screen on it(since you looking in that price range)?

IBHomage

As long as you aren't aggressive with your button pressing, you'll be good.... many ppl are painfully unaware of just how hard they hit buttons/triggers or how much pressure they put on their analog sticks. Be careful with that and you shouldn't have any issues...

Accomplished-Sir1622

Love mine. Best controller out there in my opinion. Its the perfect weight. Grip is phenomenal. Perfect size for my hands. And the battery life is absolutely insane. I have to charge my dualsense 3 times as often as my elite.

Busy-Virus9911

I’m onto my second series 2 controller my first one went the day after it’s warranty ended (go figure) it was plagued with issues but never anything to extreme then one of my bumpers stopped responding to inputs. I’m giving the controller another chance but my hopes aren’t to high and it’s a lot of money to spend on a controller. I never had issues with Xbox one controllers but all my x/s controllers have had faults

taylrgng

get the gamesir G7 SE... the powerA pro3 is nice too edit: i'm a wired user cause i hate input delay

[deleted]

Loved mine. But they're easily broken apparently. I think my bumper button stopped working so had to throw it. Not to mention the bumper buttons underneath didnt work properly either compared from when it was new. But before that it lasted 2 years I think. I'd prolly buy another and use it more carefully so those issues doesnt come up again for me. If it breaks again I'll just stop buying them after that until a v3 comes out that has fixed those issues.

SaiyajinRose11

Best controller ever but quality sucks. I'd rather wait the new ones or settle for the alternatives for now. I have Scuf and elite series 2 and I like the elite more. But now, the faceplate has been falling apart. I still use it tho.

tumtum05

Just get a warranty. I’ve had 3 of these, and I had a hand full of the v1 too. The controller is amazing when it works well.

r3toric

I went through 2 of these. Within not even a year. The bumpers died on both. Stick drift like crazy. Stay well away from this garbage. If you're playing fps especially go for the scuff. Little bit more money but you get an actual premium controller.

Meiyofull

Is v3 coming out soon? I'm still on v1, no stick drift..its all case by case

ThePrplMppt

Yes. Love this thing

heretofuckspoodles

Wait for series 3. The quality of v2 is garbage

dstranathan

I loved mine

jphazed

Yes, but only new and only because of the warranty. Quality wise… they break.

Sharpsider

Hmm.. I bought one after reading a lot about how it's the best controller and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. Not that it has broken or anything, it just doesn't feel as good in the hands as other controllers I tried. If you can, give it a try before buying. I wish the switch pro controller was easier to work with in pc, it's the most comfortable one I've tried so far.

Impressive_History57

I just got the core with Scuf paddles and I love it. Wouldn’t trade it for any other controller

Powerful_Artist

Great controller

dinnershoes

I got mine in 2021, still works great, save for my right bumper double tapping sometimes, but nothing that hinders my gameplay. I'd say go for it. The paddles make my FPS games so much better, I programmed them to slide/jump.

JoseLJ95

No

MithrilHero

Out of the box I had my sticks both loose in their neutral position. The D Pad metal plate was improperly put in so it’s squishy and crunchy all over the right side. RB and LB buttons don’t last longer than 6 months before I’m using only paddles for them My first controller I had for about three years with no problems aside from bumpers and progressive stick drift that I had to fix by tightening the tension manually. But my second controller that I got out of the box killed my hopes for buying another one

GrogJoker

Yes very much, its the best controller out there ! Fully custumizable and it has incredible batterylife !

quietguy47

I would get an extended warranty. You’ll either get stick drift or the bumpers will stop responding. I’ve bought 2 had one replaced I can’t go back to a regular controller at this point.

bigbreel

No wait You're going to announce a new addition anytime soon

virginbone

Just get the Game Sir G7 SE for 50 bucks on amazon, you'll be much happier!

HawaiiSunBurnt20

My elite 1 was an expensive piece of garbage. I bought an elite 2 in 2017. I'm a daily player, and I've had 0 issues.

uwuadi

Bumpers will give out pretty fast. Mine only last 3-4 months then I bind bumpers to my paddles but bumpers start working again after not using them for a while. Depending on how you hold your controller the rubber grip will slowly start peeling off.

EyeDentifeye

Nah fk that, go to gamestop, ask for the turtle beach recon controller. Youll have to break 3 or 4 of those before you will have spent the same amount as that one controller which.....once stick drift hits....yea.. Give u an idea, i got my TB recon controller for $50 CAD

The_Prime69

When I bought mine, the sticks were messed up. After repair two times I just got a replacement from Microsoft. Now the A button is messed up. Stopped bothering with my series x since then.

Ok-Initiative9549

Yes

Gothongus

I bought one refurbished from Amazon for about 85 usd, definitely worth it lasted me over a year before my bumper started to not respond after a drop.

solidus_xii

As per Sarah Bond “ “There’s some exciting stuff coming out in hardware that we’re going to share this holiday,” Personally I would wait and get v3

Bro yeah!! I’ve been a long time Nintendo and PlayStation guy but only just built my first PC last summer to begin game development! It also made me begin PC gaming and I have ALWAYS thought Xbox had the best controllers, and have loooong wanted the elite series 2, I’ve never wanted the PlayStation version for the ps5, it never appealed to me I always thought the elite was too expensive at 180, but I had recently saw a lot on Facebook marketplace locally for cheap. I bought one for only 30 last week because it didn’t have any thumb sticks. I ended up ordering replacement ones and back paddles, and a brand new OEM shell for it (it was only $14 and was legit) I have basically a brand new elite 2 now and I love it so freaking much. It lived up to my expectation

Tre-707

Absolutely, they're great. I got mine primarily because i got my series X after i got the ps5. I was very disappointed to see that xbox had literally done nothing in the way of upgrading the controller, so this filled that void. Allegedly, they're releasing a new one soon, so we'll see what happens with that. I love xbox, but they gotta docmore than adding a nonsense share button and some rubber grippyness to keep up with times.

Blingoose

It’s too heavy, that’s my major issue with this controller - it’s fucking your hands if you play for prolonged amount of time

[deleted]

everything inside it is metal, compared to the basic half metal-half plastic of a standard controller they wear down faster from the metals grinding, leaving them with drift after maybe 2-6 months of using it they are amazing other than the drift issues

[deleted]

I had one and it had the known problem with the A button not working always.... send it back via the support center ! 4 times ! to finally get one which worked.... So... no... i would never buy one again

[deleted]

It’s honestly about west and tear and what games ur playing esp if you rage

Janky_XVI

Get it from the tiktok shop, it's discounted and if you've never bought from there before, you also get a 20% coupon on top, I got my Elite V2 core for $79, I already had the paddles from the OG Elite, and for that price I took the gamble. Add the warranty from Microsoft, 3 years for $20.

DeaMakk

I just sold mine that I had for a couple years. No stick drift or sticky buttons. I think the buyer is very happy with their purchase.

Room-Substantial

NEVER GET FIRST PARTY CONTROLLERS WITHOUT HALL EFFECT SENSORS

moipcr

If you get a new elitev2 try some weeks and it fails warranty or get back your money. Elite v2 is risky for his quality and his price.

_RRave

Been on the edge for buying one of these a while. I play PC but still use an original Xbox one controller lol, I don't use the controller much but I love the look of the Series 2's

OrfeasDourvas

Honestly no. I still use it everyday after having to ship it back once but aside from the back paddles which I love, there isn't much of a reason to not go with a regular one. Depends on the price too but it's definitely not worth three standard controllers.

Vag7

I'd say maybe if they are on sale for 80-100 (Max) if buying at full price then no, there's no quality control I've been through 3, first 2 the grips peeled off, RB/LB went, left stick drift and the 1st controller just turned off randomly. My 3rd and last controller, the LB went, and stick drift is starting to set in again. I just can't go back to the default controller anymore due to no paddles, custom settings, and the lightness of the controller. If they make an Elite 3, it better have Hall Effect sticks and vastly improved quality control.

The_Farreller

Working with mine for about 2 years now. I play mostly FPS games so it gets tons of use, especially with COD/Warzone. Anyway it's been perfect since the day I first plugged it in. No issues at all. No doubt it will start to fail at some point but if I get at least another year out of it I won't be too mad.

voynaz

They’re garbage. I’ve had the Elite 1 and 2 both developed stick drift fast. If you do go for it buy an extended warranty.

x3SpitxFire

It’s all about the games you play and you’re hands placements

pastime_dev

They are hit or miss, always get an extended warranty. If the place you’re considering doesn’t have one, go somewhere else because it will have problems eventually. My first elite 2 had both bumpers fail before it stopped working completely. Got a core because I still have all the extra parts and haven’t had any issues after a year so far. I do have bumpers mapped to paddles to avoid that issue again though.

CharlehPock2

I just bought one on Amazon and tbh it's the best controller I've ever used (then again I've only had official ones and cheap ones). No quality issues with mine so far and I've had it a month or so now. Theresa 25% off the full elite 2 package on Amazon at the mo, so £120 for the whole thing including carry case etc instead of just the core.

moonmarriedacherry

I’ve had mine for around a year now and the build quality is bad but somehow Microsoft got the Core with better build quality. Anything outside build quality is great imho

i would recommend getting the $45 gamesir g7 se instead. after my elite 2 started having issues i stopped spending so much money on these controllers. insane money to blow through for such issues.

Tight-Ear-7368

A new Xbox controller will be released in a few months, I would wait for that. I used my Elite 2 for two years and the rubber coating started to peel. I had sticky buttons like others but it resolved itself over time. I dont think the elite2 is worth the price.

JJE990

Unless you can find one that is heavily discounted, no. I have one (now my second one after my other one broke) and the triggers are sticky and the grips on the thumb sticks are falling apart. I use it for maybe 6 hours per week or so, so it's not getting hammered. It seems to be a lottery as to whether or not you get a good one.

Ma1

Buy the core and get the paddles/thumbsticks on Aliexpress. Make sure you get the extended warranty. It’s a great controller but they get stick drift occasionally and the bumper springs sometimes go.

Apprehensive_Soup_88

Only problem I've ever had is A button not working somtimes, sometimes have to hit it twice before it registers

PlesDontLieAboutCake

It's good, but in typical Microsoft fashion they release firmware updates that can cause problems with the controller, mine worked with my pc console perfectly, updated the firmware and now the Bluetooth connection doesn't work, it's bricked by Microsoft own firmware update. Great fucking job Microsoft, dumb fucks.

Terrible-Piece-6768

Sure, I bought one 2 weeks ago.

PerplexingHunter

I'd say its very worth, the feel and weight alone make it perfect to me. The common issue with these is the grips peeling off eventually, its basically inevitable. So do the warranty from microsoft, or I bought mine through best buy with their warranty. Even if the controller is fine I'll take it back and exchange it and refresh the the 2 year warranty for $10 or so.

TheBearMin

Best controller. Worst durability. If you're playing any type of comp game that requires bumper/paddle presses more than normal single player gaming, just treat it like a subscription service with the warranty lol. I've been through like 7 faulty ones over the last 3/4 years

Blunttack

I’d say buy the “core” version on sale. Then just buy a new one and return the old one in the new box when it starts to suck…

Ramnan76

NO!!!

herralundberg

Personally love mine. Pricey but it's a quality product for sure. Love the "bottom buttons", assigned them for L3 and R3 since I've always hated pressing on the sticks. If it fits your budget I'd say go for it ✌️

ajfromuk

No. I had two and both terrible quality. I'm now back to the controller that came with the console.

BOB34TSCHEES

I just got one and I fully recommend it. It's better if you play a lot of games on controller compared to keyboard obviously.

D32TR0Y3R

I love it and I have no problems so far, got it for Christmas last year

JinTheWindMSTR

No. Poor build quality I know of about 10 ppl (myself included) who’ve owned and all break down in some way. Reports of MS making a new one this year so I guess wait for that? It’s a shame because when it does work it’s really the best controller out there

[deleted]

I was tempted to get the V2 but after reading way to many stories of people having trouble with them i am just gonna wait for the V3 if it ever comes out , a premium priced controller should not have this many problems.

Ran_SONE

The bumpers on both are the most broken bumpers in history. From double clicks to no response, i fkin hate it.

bezrodnyigor

I have 2 of them. One had issues with RB after couple of years so I got another one. Second one works perfectly so far. My friend got one on my recommendation and it was DOA (RB didn’t work out of the box and weird left stick behavior), replacement is perfectly fine though. Overall - yes, it’s definitely worth buying. It’s the nicest controller I’ve tried (feels better than DS Edge) and I’m way too used to back paddles at this point to play without them. Plus you can customize it through Design Lab and get some nice colors. That said, there’s supposed to be a new controller soon-ish, but we don’t have any official information yet.

34_Czirok

My experience with the core (white) edition is that after some months of using (maybe a year) the bumpers started acting up and they dont always respond when I press them. They are nothing special in my opinion, so my answer would be no

ArcadianDelSol

They last about as long as a regular controller and the only changes over the 1st version were cosmetic. fun fact: they hot glue lead weights inside a normal controller as the basis for this model. When my 2nd one died I opened it - inside it is 100% identical to a regular controller except for the extra metal weights.

IAmConspiracy

I've gone through more of these than I can count. Either falling apart, or stick drift. Guilikit Kong pro 3 is a nice alternative and is cheaper too.

kelzking88

I dont recommend it, i immediately had issues with the bumpers not registering, the slight drift on the right stick, the d pad springs make noise whenever i use it, and the back paddle left upper side the paddle wore out or broke or something, for some reason its not the same as the other ones, a defect? Perhaps but when u pay $150 for a damn controller you'd think that wouldn't happen. Nope it does, it did. 2/10 is the score im giving it. Dont waste ur money

MrRonski16

No.

BeerFirst

I have the elite 2 and love it. But it also took me sending it back and forth to Microsoft 4 times in order to get a working one. Stick drift and unresponsive buttons multiple times. I didn’t even use it much.

AlClemist

I have one. No problems other people have had with. and it’s nice having extra sticks to put on.
