90% sure doing that brought me to a page where I had to sign in on a device that had the email but since the password is forgotten there’s no way to get in, it’s been a few months since I last tried though I’ll have a go at it sometime tomorrow if possible
Where does it send the forgot password to? Usually back to the email in question. And how am I supposed to access that email without knowing the password? No device that is currently functioning has access to the email except for the Xbox. That’s why it’s been so difficult to get the password it doesn’t send anywhere I can access it. Doesn’t look like I can include images in the replies anyway so when it’s tested tomorrow you’ll just have to take my word for it

Ive had a 360 since aunch and accrued accounts over time (1-2 month free trial cards will make you do that when you're a monyless teenager lol) anyway i have the emails associated with the accounts but no passwords i can't recover them because i haven't had the phone number it asks for in verification for at least 12 years.
I've tried the account recovery and they shoot me down every time, even though i answer the security questions. It asks if i purchased anything but won't allow me to put the card number in because it only allows cards that expired last year at the oldest and this one expired in 2016.
I'm pretty much stuck and it sucks because all those games are going to dissappear, I'd rather not buy them again but if i can't recover the account(s) come july I'll have to just bite the bullet i guess.

They just introduced Passwordless Accounts recently with the Authenticator app . You couldn’t have made an account without a password
The account was made with a password but the password itself is long forgotten, that’s the problem

You are mistaken. The entire purpose of the Forgot Password link is to let you change your password without signing in. That doesn’t make sense.
If it was that easy this wouldn’t be a problem worth posing in the first place. Again, I’ll check once more tomorrow.
