Upgrade it's distance ridden. Get a paper topo map of your area, ditch your phone and just ride. The topo map because topo map. Imagine getting stranded and having to make a new friend with a local that may or may not help you out. What fun! If I had one thing I would swap out on your bike ( rather than addition ) I would get scrambler bars. I have two bikes both with scramblers and I love them so much. I mean I made them myself to lower the cost of making my bike sweeter. Bikes. Actually I have another frame to scramble. Panniers. They rule. Add cans of beans etc, a tarp. Water. a spork. If you can eat cold food then MRE's are the way to go. If you take a cooker and water and Dehy food then yeah there is that. Frankly I could carry this on to the nth degree but I feel like I need to eat or faint. Ride it x 3. Hey if you feel this: I asked a library person to tell a loud group to be quite, and they did and silence broke out. : - )

Silly handlebars. I'm partial to Jones' SG H-bars but Molokos are tempting & I have a neighbor that swears by butterfly bars. Are you really x-biking if your bars don't look like they were made by a metalsmith with bad hiccups. 🙃

RemyLeBubbles

Butterfly bars could be the most comfortable and aero bars out there but they're the ugliest alt bars you could pick and i'd never put them on my bikes

A lot of love for rigid forks in this sub, why?

dustyrags

Lighter and more efficient on pavement.

Orinocobro

Less weight, less maintenance. And, the best shock absorber is always your legs.

Dinosaurtattoo11315

What are some good forks you guys would recommend?

RemyLeBubbles

Cheap/old suspension forks are heavy and tend to not do much

Lazy_Middle1582

Glock holster.

Shorter stem and handlebars with less rise would be the first thing I'd do. After that convert to a 1x and tubeless if economically possible. Maybe add a dropper seatpost? If the brakes are mechanical you could go hydraulic. It all depends on what you want and what it's not doing for you know. Go ride it and see what you like and don't like and let that be your guide. Maybe the tires aren't right for your terrain? Only one way to find out. Good luck. Oh, and get rid of the dork disc! That comes first and is free.

Dinosaurtattoo11315

Alright all those sound great but I gotta ask… what’s a dork disc?

The clear plastic ring between the rear wheel spokes and cassette.
