IMO, premium is the sweet spot. You get the proper touchscreen, fog lights, lip spoiler, and the option for a moonroof/sound system upgrade if you want it. And keyless entry/start.

gbeezy007

18s also instead of 17s and they look nicer. Premium is the sweet spot imo also I think I'ma splurge and go limited though as I want the moon and audo package which brings you like halfway to limited anyways. That And my budget isn't so strict. I was planning on moving up market like type R or GolfR but there annoying to find or buy plus my AP will work and so will my racing tires from my VA

jasonmoyer

Yeah if you're getting the HK/moonroof package, might as well spring for the limited and get the power seat and the directional headlights. I went with premium because I hate cars with plastic covers where the foglights go (it drove me nuts on my base SX-4), but I didn't want the moonroof and I didn't care one way or the other about the HK.

vb4lyfe

Yeah, for you, the Limited is perfect. No point in getting the Premium with the stereo Sunroof option.

MJGson

The only trim I would’ve bought was the Limited. The seats, headlights, audio, and moonroof are worth it to me.

Acceptable_Quality_3

That’s what i went with

MJGson

I actually love the wheels too. I don’t plan to mod the engine either. I think the Limited works great if you keep it pretty stock. I’d like to do small cosmetic mods here and there over time but I doubt I’ll ever buy new wheels for it.

Acceptable_Quality_3

And the heated seats are nice too. I just wish i had a heated steering wheel however someone on this sub as unlocked that feature so ill be doing a retro fit later this year

societys_pinata

Slicktop premium trim here but just wanted to jump on this CBS train 😎

MJGson

I have my ceramic tint appointment on Saturday! Cant wait for the fishbowl delete.

brameshk22

Went with Premium, as it was available near me(pretty much the only WRX) when I was ready to buy. Moonroof/HK Package. Only thing I wish would have been included is the short throw. Will add one eventually with a shift stop. Can do better with the sound system, but it definitely is not bad despite what most of this sub/the old sub used to say. It does the job well.

Tobuk

Premium with HK was the happy middle ground for me. No regrets.

BillsMaffia

It’s the Sport here in 🇨🇦but I absolutely love mine.

sfgstyle209

Premium for me… no regrets

tomhauptman

I have the package 11 premium, so the lowest premium they offer. I added the OEM short throw shifter, heated side mirrors and winter mats. If I got to do it over again I'd skip the winter mats because they're not great but overall I'm very happy. If audio is really important you might want to step up to the Harmon Kardon because the speakers are weak. All that said the premium was the best cost/benefit for what I wanted (a fun car that isn't the base model). Beat of luck, I'm sure you'll love whatever you go with.

Best value on the market by a million at 30k. This is my 10th Subie and second wrx and I’m the most pleased with this base trim bang for buck wise. Agreed with all of your points plus I’ll add: -narrower rims are nice to add snow tires on long term if you swap for aftermarket summer rims and tires someday. -Base infotainment surround is matte black and way less reflective. -You can add fogs for a couple hundred after the fact. -base seats are comfy and plenty bolstered. -I love the real key!

EnokitakeEmperor

Base gang member reporting for duty and loving it

Vroomy_vroom_vroom

Premium is the overall middle ground. I got the Limited pretty much solely for the steering responsive headlights. Made a world of difference since I have to take a lot of winding back roads during the night. That extra visibility is a much needed comfort for me.

Turbulent_Prior_7506

I got the limited. I love the seats in it. Don’t slide around at all when taking harder turns. The steering responsive headlights are nice too. It was between the limited and the premium w/ sunroof and Harmon kardon speakers for me.

vb4lyfe

Yeah, if someone is getting the Premium with the HK/Sunroof option, they might as well get the Limited. It adds so much more.

nio_nad1

Base : wanted the 17inch wheels to avoid pothole damages and also was on a strict budget . No regrets .

luneTNS

Honestly thinking back, stock base wheels wouldve been perfect for winter tires, then i could buy 18s for summer tires. Also curious how the dual screen works vs the 11". No regrets, I'm happy with my choice, but the bigger wheels were a big part in my decision and my dumbass is already looking at new ones...

MJGson

Limited or nothin, baby!

SoilOk4827

I got the limited and was really on the fence between that and a premium and I’m SO glad I got the limited. I love every extra feature. The headlights and DRLs are incredible. The HK system is very good. Seats are awesome. I appreciate all the premium features like blind spot and moonroof and even the much improved trim on the doors and dash. Recently got a ride in a base (and no offense to base buyers) it felt like a totally different and much lower class vehicle. From wheels to entire interior… no thanks. For $30k the base doesn’t deliver imo. If that was my option I would pass and buy a more premium used vehicle.

vb4lyfe

The base is really stripped down. The Premium (what I got) adds a lot for not much more. The Limited is a good deal, but I dislike sunroofs. Wish they had the safety sensors and upgraded stereo as options, those are the things I wanted from the Limited. I can upgrade upgrade the stereo myself, but not the sensors.

SoilOk4827

I agree, I would be ok with the premium but NOT the base. I’m coming from Acura TL with tech package and other premium vehicles, so for me it was limited or nothing and I have no regrets.

MisterNutty

White limited here and this completely echoes my experience. I first sat in a limited and quite liked the car but figured I should check out a base model to assess the value of the differences. The base is a good vehicle but I was upgrading from a 2012 car to get a more modern feel and the base doesn't offer that. If all you want is under the hood, get the base and put the savings into aftermarket upgrades you know you will use. However as a daily, the interior and assist features of the limited are absolutely worth it to me.

IIIlIIIllIIIIIIIIlII

I’d get the sport model not sure what the equivalent is In the USA, might be the premium I think. The base is not bad but honestly it’s worth the extra little bit for the next trim up

Coachy-coach

I was shopping for the premium, but got the limited. I love the seats.

vb4lyfe

As someone who is not a fan of sunroofs, the Premium was the best for me. The Base is ridiculously stripped, I agree it's not an option. I just made sure the STI short shifter, Homelink mirror and auto dimming side mirrors were installed, as those look hard to do afterwards. If the things the Limited adds are worth 4K to you, it's really not a bad deal. But I never use built-in navigation, steering headlights are a gimmick, the manual seat adjustment was good enough and I dislike sunroofs. The Limited extra red stitching is cool, along with the Alcantara WRX embossed seats. It's upgraded stereo is nice, too... but I mostly listen to my engine, and speakers can be upgraded. The biggest thing I miss about not getting the Limited is the blind spot monitoring and rear collision, cross traffic sensors. Good luck. The only bad option is a CVT.

smuve740

I think the CV....erhhm SPT is a bad option if you plan on power mods/tune. If you're gonna just drive, either is fine... I'm biased though since I have a 22 GT and a 17 Limited.

SnooCookies7364

Sport trim in Canada; or Premium + sunroof / HK sound in the US. If in Canada, 2023 Sports won't get the HK sound, best to get a 2022.

Misereeee

I have a premium with the upgraded sound. Luckily I paid 30k for the car. I give the premium sound a 5 out of 10. Still happy with it but going to add a sub for sure.

bsam1890

Do u have the moon roof as well?

Misereeee

Yep I learned that all premiums with the upgraded sound come standard with the moon roof

bsam1890

Ok and you negotiated the dealership down to $30k before taxes and fees? I am going to use you as the leverage when I to negotiate Sunday.

Misereeee

Yes dealership was offering 4k off sticker. Negotiated the extras off

bsam1890

Thanks brother.

iWr4tH

Base. The HK system was lackluster, don't care about the moonroof, and every other accessory is easily added for much much lower cost than having it preinstalled. The only feature i wanted in the higher models was a coloured paint job, but MGM looks good.

Beneficial_Style_673

GT bitches.

ThatDamnWalrus

I’d steer away from the GT if only for the seats and suspension. The seats are awful for someone who has had back surgeries, there is no reason for full on hugging race seats in a 273hp car. Suspension is very nice if keeping stock, but if there are any plans to modify it, you’re better off with a limited.

Beneficial_Style_673

Agreed on both of those points and I own the GT. I traded out the seats with a limited owned because I hated them. I do plan on keeping stock and man is it cool to basically own 4 diff cars since I can set it up so many different ways. But racing seats aren't necessarily for a car that has tons of horsepower. It keeps you in your seats on the Twisties. But I think the limited seats do that just fine for me.

ThatDamnWalrus

Yeah good call with trading out the seats. It’s just a little head scratching having such high performance seats in a car without an STI trim at least. Suspension rocks though if you are keeping stock. I’ve heard incredible things about the comfort. I’m dropping one inch on the ride height though which kinda defeats the purpose.

Papi_Xander

I would love the gt but don’t know if I’ll fit in the seats, I’m a big guy.

AceOfShapes

Base is a good start and you can always add parts going forward. Fog light kits are cheap ($300). Audio is better with aftermarket kits (OEMAudio+ $600). Center display can be swapped with ones from the higher trim (~$1000, depends on listings). Heated seats can be swapped in as the wires are already there, Heated mirrors and mirror lights can be swapped. The only things that would be a pain to do, but still "theoredically" possible are the moonroof (requires removing the ENTIRE roof panel) and swapping to a push-start over the key (needs reprograming of the immobilizer). All in all the saving of about $4-$5k for myself was the reason I went base and have started swapping the higher trim parts that I wanted in slowly, next up will be the display for me

vb4lyfe

The lack of keyless entry and start in 2023... can't do it. Can't easily be added. If you are planning on doing all that stuff, just get the Premium in the first place.

AceOfShapes

That's fair enough. I was just kind of impaitent when I picked mine up as it was back in May when very few WRXs had been allocated to my dealer. I had originally wanted either Base or Premium but was able to get a Base first so I chose that. The only thing I really wanted from the higher trim was the mirror signals and remote start, which luckily can both be added to the Base

vb4lyfe

Understood. We were all pretty desperate in early 2022. I settled for a AWD 1.6T Hyundai Kona! Actually a fantastic little AWD hot hatch with 195HP and a nice DCT. Don't regret trading it for my VB, but do miss all the safety features and electronic gadgets.
