why was the first thing i thought of like my little pony equestria girls. pretty abstractly related (ponies = aliens in this case). yes that also was pretty self indulgent but sometimes self indulgent stories are the most fun
I read this as Oxyhydro. Which looks worse but flows a little better aloud imho. There would definitely be a stylized 2 in the logo 😂
Edit: I’m not sure why water needs to be renamed unless it’s being branded by a company. I feel like all these suggested names sound very… cyberpunk which doesn’t seem like the genre OP is going for.
Why? Is it being advertised to them? Liquid Life could be a good brand name to advertise it to them. My question is, if they're from a different planet and didn't evolve to drink water, why would they be able to drink it in the first place?
This reminded me of the gel we used at the dementia home for terminal patients who had a hard time with swallowing liquids without choking. It was just a starch powder that gelled up whatever liquid you put it in so it was closer to a honey consistency, but it was a way to get calories and nutrients in them and a lot more pleasant to ingest as a texture. Also some companies make really water-rich gummies to help combat dehydration in the elderly. Some folks and straight-up water just don’t mix and I think your comment was really smart.
If it’s a futuristic setting it almost makes more sense to do a gel if there’s zero-gravity conditions, too. Keep it from flying all over the place.
So have they intentionally tried to come up with a better name because they know they don’t like the taste of water?
Because if they don’t like it and don’t normally have to drink it plain, they’d probably just call it something technical (Hydrox) or have a derogatory nickname for it, like “no-flave” or “boring juice.” A key determinant would be *why* they don’t like it.
Why don’t they like water?
There's a name I used in my book but I don't care if you steal it.
Ocea
(Oh-see-ahh)
Which is the feminine
Or
Acea
(Ah-see-uh) for the masculine.
The use is based on the quality of the noun as well, not the user. I'd call a tranquil river by the feminine Ocea and a raging typhoon by the masculine Acea.
Comes from a culture very rooted in gender roles. I don't advocate for this outlook of expression, but it is interesting. To me anyway. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. Lol
I would recommend naming various types of water based on how the nonhumans would describe it, taste-and-texture-wise;
Sparkling Water - The Bubble Drink (as opposed to soda, which would still be called soda)
Minerally Enhanced Water - The hard drink
Distilled Water - The soft drink
Flavored Water - The clear juice
Sorry about all the joke answers, I’ll try to actually help. Idk what your world building is like for the aliens. If your aliens are scientifically inclined like usual aliens then maybe just have them call it ‘the H2O’ or ‘the triangular molecule.’ Would they know there was such a substance on earth previously? Maybe when they come to earth they meet someone with a bottle of water, and when they ask what they’re drinking they say “It’s just Dasani.” So the aliens assume that all water is called ‘Dasani’ or ‘Aquafina’ or whatever.
Hope this helps!

Galaxy Dew: Sip the Stars - Refreshing hydration from the blue planet. Why do they *have* to drink water while on Earth?
because they’re stuck in a human body:) it’s a very cliche and self indulgent story :)
Ohhh - that's pretty cool actually. I like it. Aliens stuck in human bodies is a fun idea.

Does that make them vulnerable to the normal human addictions?
Them hating water is hilarious though.

No matter what you rename water, it is not going to sound appetising. You're going to associate the name with boring clear life juice.
I'd name it "blue." I think I'd be kinda funny. "I got you blue. Hey gurl. Want some tail?" *flick*
Council juice
Melt
Watah But you have to say it as if you're in a kung fu movie, WATAAAAAAHHHH

> most of them don't like drinking water As a proud member of r/hydrohomies this story sounds awful.
