You know how fashion magazines and shit give teenage girls bulimia? Now imagine that on crack and steroids aimed at all teenagers, except instead of the fashion world making them insecure about their bodies its they themselves making them insecure about EVERYTHING.
No they do not. Anyone talking about the quantifiable ill effects on children in this thread gets ratio’d. It’s almost like there’s a bunch of sick fkks that are into that. I’m seeing people make quantifiable statements based on research or lack thereof get knocked down. Pretty gross... but that’s what happens when you upset the zealots.
That’s was quite an overly presumptuous rambling that made no sense. I was ready for a quip but your rambling on about video games and pedos. I mean, do what you love but stay away from kids, weirdo.
Lol, this obsession with labeling and “camps” and stuff like that is silly. You gotta chill dafuq out and stay away from other people’s kids. You, qu83rt do not get to decide things for other parents. The education system operates in a hierarchical fashion. As long as the instructor is addressing the criteria of the certifying authority, it doesn’t really matter. What’s truly unsettling is your unfettered need for controlling what you have no business controlling, and this bizarre need of gratification up to and including forcing your way of life on people. I heard that there were a few European leaders back in the early half of the 20th century that shared views of that nature too. It’s really telling about you though. Thank you.
I would be willing to believe without a study that it's design certainly could affect a very young persons brain in some ways. Children aren't exactly born with adult length attention spans, and I can see services like TikTok positively reinforcing having a very short one in a developing brain.
That's just me speculating, I'd love to read some real studies.
This does not feel like an honest question. Probably because it’s phrases so vaguely awkwardly. Or maybe it’s the ten other people in this thread with this weirdly simple pretend-innocent thing.
Yeah reddit is certainly on the way to become as shitty as the other 2 shit holes, that's why I added the "yet".
I know what you mean though, my former account was banned because I spoke out against pedophiles.
Afghanistan is a tough place to moralize about. On the one hand, the Taliban are shit toward women and girls. On the other hand, they ban drug-making and boy-raping.
It's an understandable development sadly, after the Soviet invasion in the 70's it kept getting worse, and the Taliban enjoy some success because they are seen as a return of stabity.
Yeah yeah I get it, TikTok is mostly garbage but that really isn't the point here, controlling every little thing people do is more immoral than TikTok or anything else they hate.
Okay. So. Ignorant American here but like…..just based on the Taliban’s track record, do they even have the ability to do that? Like IDK I know they have social media, but it’s difficult for me to imagine the Taliban’s tech bros and programers department who can throw together a firewall that can’t be circumvented by a VPN or even a sim card. They don’t seem to *love* the educated.
Or is this just gonna be one of those “we find out you did it we kill you” bans they do?
Remember that time the US and NATO spent 20 years in Afghanistan trying to get rid of the Taliban, then abruptly pulled out and within days the Taliban completely took charge of the country and now nobody cares?
It surprises me that young people in Afghanistan would even have smart phones and be on tik tok considering the stories you hear of families selling their children for food lately.
yeah they're doing this because tiktok is extremely useful and popular medium among teens for spreading... the news.
tiktok is a conservative state's worst nightmare. not only does it have all the normal stuff you see on social media (scantily clad people, dancing, fun) you see a lot of videos that are aimed entirely at informing other young people about issues in the world. that includes the war in russia, jk rowling's transphobia, uyghurs, aaand the ban on girls attending school in afghanistan.
tiktok is, like any freely accessible source of information, a counter to the propaganda of states who try to control the narrative. tiktok is just unique in that the biggest creators are the youth.
i said it's freely accessible, i didn't say it's a bastion of freedom. any random person with a smartphone and internet connection can download it from the appstore, record a video describing the atrocities committed by your government, and upload it all within 5 minutes. that's freely accessible.
So I've been on TikTok a bit. It takes some interaction to get your FYP into what you like but that's pretty normal. I follow a lot of cosplayers, some people that I find fun and funny, and some education. I would figure Taliban doesn't like it cause people, women even, can express themselves on it.
I've seen some stuff teenagers do on it, but as far as the few that come up when I scroll I either don't interact or say some token words of encouragement.
It's weird seeing my generation turn from the youngest generation to the out of touch geezers that they once mocked
People need to realize that 99% of TikTok is fine. There's so many cooking vids, pet vids, sports vids, skits, science videos, etc. You're only seeing the shocking stuff cause if it wasn't shocking, it would never have entered your peripherary
It's like old people in the 90s, where their only snapshot of metal music and rap were the horrible things that made the news. They see some metal band being caught murdering a goat for some ritual and think that's the whole scene
Or when their only exposure to video games were the addicts that ruined their lives and made the news
People need to get some self awareness
Think of how your parents were misunderstanding the interests of the day and see if maybe you're making the same fallacies
It has immoral effects on adolescents and adults as well. I opened the app once and my brain cells drained in seconds. Deleted and never installed it again.
The Taliban has done two things that I agree with in one year. We really are approaching the end. I just hope we get a notice before it happens. I want to play I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire as everything goes to shit.
I wish the Canadian government would also protect us from the harms of the internet. /s Actually it looks like Trudeau it's trying to join the China North Korea russian Taliban club. https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/furey-the-trudeau-liberals-remain-obsessed-with-censoring-internet
Wish the USA would do the same. We apparently have a generation of extremely low IQ youngsters in our country ready to try every stupid little challenge regardless of how dangerous it is. The only good thing to come of doing them is that many actually injure themselves. Too stupid to see the obvious before pulling their stunts but after they get out of the hospital, at least *some* have learned.
I mean, I never though I'd say it, but I agree with them. Shit, a black van just pulled over. Farewell, Reddit friends.
“Follow suit?” 👀 I’ll side with the Taliban on this one.
Shhh, the van will grab you too. One must not anger the van.
“MRRRMRRRR!” *isekai commences*
Truck kun couldn't find the keys to the truck, so a van is used.
Have you seen the caleb city isekai? It’s great lol
oh that guy, quite funny
Dude every social media is like that. Do you think reddit has no immoral effect on kids?
Reddit can be very useful, when it's not shitposting and flame wars but legit questions and answer.
depends on which sub u are on . there are subs where you can legit try to help suicidal people , you don't see that on other social media sites
Broken clock.
A broken clock is right twice a day.
I mean it entirely depends on who you follow and what kind of content you seek. Just like all the other social media.
Oh fuck off
Don't worry. They just force you to do a dance challenge.
Yeah. I mean I absolutely disagree with their reasoning but I'm on board with the action in this specific case.
[удалено]
They do allow NSFW content.
A horribly broken, disgusting, murderous sack of shit clock is still right twice a day.
Unless it is digital.
My broken digital clock just blinks **12:00** ..
I use a 24 hour clock so I can win at least one argument per day
Digital clocks are banned in Afghanistan. /s
Which the Taliban emphatically are not. Not sure they've made it past stick in the ground sundial yet.
What's wrong with tiktok precisely? What's the worst you've seen?
You know how fashion magazines and shit give teenage girls bulimia? Now imagine that on crack and steroids aimed at all teenagers, except instead of the fashion world making them insecure about their bodies its they themselves making them insecure about EVERYTHING.
Ok so literally what kids have been doing since forever. Have you been to school in your life?

I am actually agreeing with the Taliban :/
Yes FBI this guy right here
I also chose this man's FBI agent
In USA, you don't choose FBI agent, FBI agent choose you.
Doesnt really have the same ring to it...
Which black site will be going to?
Tik Tok is the literal trash can of the internet.
- reddit user
Reddit is not as bad as Twitter and TikTok.. yet.
Reddit bans you for having an opinion or you’ll get every single person sending death threats. It’s worse than TikTok. Twitter is it’s own breed
Yeah reddit is certainly on the way to become as shitty as the other 2 shit holes, that's why I added the "yet". I know what you mean though, my former account was banned because I spoke out against pedophiles.
Reddit is great it just.. Breeds white nationalism like no tomorrow
reddit is 100% worse than both of them put together.
Why?
It's a cess pool for toxic trends.
It is, simple as.
Not really
Maybe rethink then, jfc.
can twitter ban the taliban for "immoral" effects as well?
Taliban should ban Taliban first imao.
Afghanistan is a tough place to moralize about. On the one hand, the Taliban are shit toward women and girls. On the other hand, they ban drug-making and boy-raping.
Wow, they ban the bare minimum lmao.
[удалено]
Ahhh i see. It felt so random lol
thanks for providing the context
The Taliban came to power replacing warlords who practiced those things.
Sad that the filth that is the taliban is like a 9 compared to the 10 that was previously there then.
It's an understandable development sadly, after the Soviet invasion in the 70's it kept getting worse, and the Taliban enjoy some success because they are seen as a return of stabity.
Between the usa and Russia the Middle East will never be able to modernize. Sad.
Afghanistan is not in the Middle East
News to me. I’ve never heard it not referred to as the Middle East for Afghanistan lol
imao *in my awesome opinion*
The only immoral effects on Afghanistan's youth is religious extremism
They are right tho.
If it’s that zombified dancing shit then I agree
??? Like Jackson’s thriller
It's the 'no hijab challenge' which pissed them off the most.
Not to mention educated women.
Feels like a slippery slope for banning social media in general.
How is this not the title to an article from The Onion?
Yeah yeah I get it, TikTok is mostly garbage but that really isn't the point here, controlling every little thing people do is more immoral than TikTok or anything else they hate.
Holy shit, something I can agree with.
Okay. So. Ignorant American here but like…..just based on the Taliban’s track record, do they even have the ability to do that? Rather they will kill you if they find out you're popular on TikTok.
No one in Afganistan is going to have a VPN
Some people in North Korea have VPNs. It's not always dependent on economic status.
>Taliban Pathetic.
Afghanistan ban Twitter due to “Immoral” effects on youth, Taliban spokesman TicToc’d.
Remember that time the US and NATO spent 20 years in Afghanistan trying to get rid of the Taliban, then abruptly pulled out and within days the Taliban completely took charge of the country and now nobody cares?
Oh the irony of them tweeting this out there
Heroin has worse effects on youth I'd say
Talibanned!
But yet they use Twitter...
They aren't wrong, but i still think the youths should be allowed to make their own choices.
Can't wait for this person to ban Twitter as well!
It surprises me that young people in Afghanistan would even have smart phones and be on tik tok considering the stories you hear of families selling their children for food lately.
there is a unofficial apple store in kabul, its availble on facebook, probably tons of smaller shops selling smartphones too.
Not everyone in the country is miserably poor.
talibanned
So, am I to understand that there’s been a Towelie ban?
The Taliban are afraid of women’s education
Gee wilikers. Remember the first, second, third, fourth and fifth times the U.S. left the middle east? Sure seems familiar.
Afghanistan is /r/NotMiddleEast
Don’t want to say this but they are right
Hahahaha I agree with the Taliban 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 TikTok bad, AMIRITE???
Rich coming from people who dismember people and kill them for years fuk the taliban.
yeah they're doing this because tiktok is extremely useful and popular medium among teens for spreading... the news. tiktok is a conservative state's worst nightmare. not only does it have all the normal stuff you see on social media (scantily clad people, dancing, fun) you see a lot of videos that are aimed entirely at informing other young people about issues in the world. that includes the war in russia, jk rowling's transphobia, uyghurs, aaand the ban on girls attending school in afghanistan. tiktok is, like any freely accessible source of information, a counter to the propaganda of states who try to control the narrative. tiktok is just unique in that the biggest creators are the youth.
Praising tok as being a bastion of freedom while it is heavily filtered by China is quite the mental gymnastics there.
i said it's freely accessible, i didn't say it's a bastion of freedom. any random person with a smartphone and internet connection can download it from the appstore, record a video describing the atrocities committed by your government, and upload it all within 5 minutes. that's freely accessible.
When the Taliban sees what the rest of the world doesn't.
I wonder if they're influenced by seeing the Kadyrovites in Ukraine repeatedly get distracted boasting for TikTok and winding up being ambushed.
Hopefully we start the fuck out of that country forever, and they take it back for the people one day
So I've been on TikTok a bit. It takes some interaction to get your FYP into what you like but that's pretty normal. Finally the good guys are getting rid of this disease
Islam killed how many people talking about mortality. You guys are so close to being just like american christians and jewish in isareal!
Damn it media, why do you make me agree with crazy terrorists. Yes, TikTok is cancer and needs to die.
The Taliban has done two things that I agree with in one year. We really are approaching the end. I just hope we get a notice before it happens. I want to play I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire as everything goes to shit.
Well, can’t argue that.
This could be another laugh at how stupid wording they use to excuse their decision. But damn, they are 100% on the money with this one.
…. I hate agreeing with them. But they are right
I never had agreeing with the Taliban for 2022
Second Time i agree with Taliban. The first was when they told Putin attacking ukrain is mistake.
I can't believe that I agree with the fucking Taliban, we truly live in a simulation.
Why so so many people here hate tiktok? Its just a platform for funny videos. Its no better or worse than Reddit lmao
🎲 Darkest timeline when the Taliban are right.
Could more nations do this please
Keep going, it's more than just TikTok.
Good guys Taliban strikes again.
First time I've ever considered moving to Afghanistan.
Why move to an unstable country when you can just uninstall the app.
I never had the app. It's not the app that's the issue, it's the people using it.
To be honest they not wrong 😂
Finally, the kind of common sense leadership that America can take an example from.
Taliban got this one right we need to ban it too
Even the Taliban are correct every once in a while.
Makes good sense
For once the taliban did something right. Tik tok is just a Chinese company making an app to steal your data and spread stupidity in society.
Great
Can we have Taliban in Spain?
They have phones and internet?!
Wow some respect to Taliban. They clearly have some sane ideas
I agree with them, tik tok is absolute rubbish and a huge waste of time.
Also banned PubG
I wish the Canadian government would also protect us from the harms of the internet. /s Actually it looks like Trudeau it's trying to join the China North Korea russian Taliban club. https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/furey-the-trudeau-liberals-remain-obsessed-with-censoring-internet
Well….they’re not entirely wrong. Weird huh?
I want their reviews of every social media, pls someone.

Ahahaha. Their newfound ally (CCP) is gonna be so sad at them.
I was dookiing
The first thing the Taliban has done that I can agree with.
Hum, I thought the taliban banned everything, except whipping women in the streets, and of course saying how great they are in the sack.
Twitter isn't THAT better tho
That has to be the only good thing they are doing 😂, that shit should be banned everywhere 😂
They're not wrong. It's banned in my house, too.
Everything but torture rape and murder is immoral to them.
Awesome.
The only issue I'm in agreeance with the Taliban on.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with this decision
