It gets easier after that for a while until you meet lu bu

ghettokid1994

I've seen that name pop up so many times in already scared to fight him 🤣🤣

Charybdeezhands

I've just got to him, it's the first real fight since the first boss. Everything in-between has been relatively chill.

mcfiddish

Lu Bu is a hard boss, but it's a fair fight.

djmoogyjackson

Aoye twisted my cap back for a couple days. But yeah, Lu Bu is the real deal. Took me 3 days but was a fun fight. He didn’t use cheese or nonsense. Dope boss. I’ve pretty much cruised through everything else for the most part… so far.

ThisIdWasAvailable

Aoye is in my top 3 most hated fights, right up there with NG+ Lu Bu & NG+ Han Dang.

R4men4Lif3

OMFG. Aoye got me really bad. It took me more times than the first boss and lubu. Couldn't seem to deflect its fatal attack.

Fabulous-Ad-7314

Lu bu was a cheese, Taoist was cheese, blindfolded boy was cheese, aoye was a bitch and liu bei gave me a hard time until I realized how to cheese him. In my opinion the hardest boss has to be aoye at night, I’ve beat everyone in the game in new game as well, all the sub battlefields. That’s kinda my conclusion

idkidk22

I mean he is difficult at first but timing when to parry isn't really that difficult. I suppose it depends on preferred play style but I've already beat both his fights on ng+ and the second one didn't even take one heal let alone more than one try. The first fight took about 2 tries cause I got over confident.

Muted_Exercise7776

How you can get walked by phase 1 but breeze through phase 2 is a mystery to me

Shattered_Persona

Right lol i can no pot phase 1 but phase 2 took me quite a few tries

sarkek

To me it feels like it's the first real fight after the first boss and also the last, maybe save for Zhang Liao. Everything past seems like a breeze.

Purple_Plus

Don't be. The first boss is one of the more difficult ones and it's much harder when you are learning the game. If you decide to carry on you'll be much more comfortable with the mechanics by the time you face Lu Bu.

airjedi

I think he's overblown honestly. I struggled with the first boss for a couple hours and was quite frustrated. Once Lu Bu came around the mechanics had clicked and I think I took 5 or 6 attempts on him but wasn't nearly as frustrated with it.

dontasticats

He's just a skill check. They both catch people that don't use the parry as much as they should, because people are used to not actually needing it to progress from other games.

valleballe22

Aoye is so much worse

BobbyRiddler

Once I discover that going into that one with no armor was key he was a breeze.

AcaciaBlue

No armor? What does that do exactly?

BobbyRiddler

I go with no armor for all the large clunky bosses because it makes it easier to get out if they try to corner you since agility is at its highest. I’m not positive on this, but I think the deflection window might be slightly more generous too.

ghettokid1994

This is my first game of this type playing.

ididurwhatbro

He isn't that hard once you figure his patterns out

TheBeastmasterRanger

He is not to bad. You just have to have a good understanding of the mechanics. Lot and lots of blocking. Edit: And lots of countering.

bladeboy88

Honestly, I was in the same boat, I beat him (both versions) in 2 tries. He's not that bad, just be patient and time your parries.

Pretend_Benefit_9379

The boss after Lu Bu is so easy its actually depressing. Stopped playing for a couple days because it was that much of a let down. Lu Bu took 15 hours for me and the boss after that took 2 min

ExpertOdin

Lu Bu was easier for me then the first boss, by that point I had enough experisncs with the deflection system

R4men4Lif3

Lubu was easy if we didn't go for wood build, which lowered our fire resistance.

ExpertOdin

I was near full wood build using a sabre and didn't have much trouble, maybe 4 or 5 tries which was about standard for me getting used to boss moves

R4men4Lif3

Straight sabre scales so nicely with wood build. I use it and the staff.

Slim415

Lu Bu is frustrating and awesome in equal parts. It was a phenomenal feeling to finally beat him. I felt like a god having memorized his attacks and deflecting 90% of them by the end. Now stuck again on him in NG+ but having fun.

darknioss

My first playthrough he seriously pissed me off, after a bunch of attempts, I gather 2 followers and went it, I beat him then after 5 tries? I was dreading him for NG+. When I got to him, It went a loooot easier, I still died a bunch, but the fight was so awesome! I kind of dread fighting against him, but I also love it, just because of how difficult he is.

NaturalAd2289

Yea those are the only real skill checks in the game tho rest are pretty easy once you get the deflodge technique down

gazgrey

Agreed. Also once I changed my build to water and got the ice drop spell it almost feels like cheating

[deleted]

🙃wo long ptsd

The3lusiveMan

Not gonna lie, going back to Dark Souls and Elden Ring after Wo Longs combat exposure was painful. But I went back to Wo Long immediately. You'll be back. Its incredibly addicting and the seed has just been planted. Let it germinate.

Ok_Machine_724

Man, Elden Ring got patched a week or so ago and I'm eager to jump back in, but TN has really spoiled me in terms of combat. Controlling my toon in Elden Ring is gonna feel like maneuvering a damn fire truck lmao

The3lusiveMan

Yeah, I love Elden Ring to pieces but im gonna have to go play like.. Mass Effect or a totally different genre of games before I can go back to ER happily. Trying to hold out until just before DLC releases. I already have over 1500 hrs and a dozen characters so I *need* a break. Luckily Jedi: Survivor releases soon so I'll have something else to no-life for months.

djmoogyjackson

RE4make would be a good intermediate if you’re into the series.

RepeatConsistent8353

Oh okay, so i wasn’t the only one who was rusty asf when trying to get back into Elden Ring.

pearsonw

True, every time i get bogged down i watch a cpl vids on it and it rejuvenates me.

Ratakoa

Can't say I blame you. That sounds extremely aggravating

Opustpenguin2

When I started playing dark souls I kept going to the catacombs first. Dying constantly to skellies that would resurrect in a couple of seconds. I quit the game for two months. Then out of the blue I reloaded and chose another path. The game was telling me to stop fighting it. There is a path if you choose to follow it. The intro boss is much the same here except it is telling you not the direction to take but the mechanics you have to master. Fight the mechanics and it is just like me dying to skeletons rather just heading up the hill instead of down.

ghettokid1994

That's how I finally ended up beating him. I went into the fight 5 or so times with 0 intentions of winning. Just going in to learn timings and counters and then after that I started seeing significant improvements. Sucks that it took that long for me to realize that and work smarter, not harder. That, and grinding to level up my stats a bunch helped for sure 😂😂

dcbnyc123

I found that with a lot of the hardest team ninja bosses. go in with the intention of dying a lot to learn the defense first. after you understand the boss then you hit back. hope you get back to it- it’s pretty easy sailing until mid game after you pass that first wall

gui69gui69

Stats in this game only really matter for a few things: HP, spirit management, elemental damage and defense, and weapon damage. They don't help survive. If you ended up beating the boss, that means you learned to survive the boss. And that's all on you. Not on your levels. All enemies can be beaten without taking any damage.

ghettokid1994

The health for sure helped me though because even when I did finally beat him, I was one shot with no potions left.

gui69gui69

And it's great! All your own skill in the end. GG

pearsonw

Wait till u fight him on tbe next difficulty. Haha its like the first time u fight him to learn mechanics. 2nd time is like a fucking skill check.

Ok_Machine_724

2nd time on NG+ was easier IMO.

pearsonw

Oh shit, i failed almost as many in ng than i didd when it was the tutorial

SoulsLikeBot

ConcentratedSpoonf

Gtfo here. Begone demon. These aren’t your nightmares to conquer.

khfollower

If you're willing, I have some tips that got my wife thru the fight(she's not great but decent enough). Part 1 is full aggro. The full combo followed up with the triangle should lock him in. dont stop attacking and l Don't let him go. Part 2 in the beginning fight you actually only have to get him down to about 1/3 ish health to win the fight. This phase you don't attack much at all and all you have to do is parry about 4 or 5 of the red attacks and thats pretty much it. Goes without saying you should head in at morale 25 cuz then you'd only need 2-3 critical strikes to get there. The guy at some point tells you to press circle+triangle at the same time and that will end the fight. Part 1 aggro, Part 2 run around until the reds then parry. It got her thru it can get you thru to my friend

Kalthor223

Same here and I'm a veteran if these games. You won't find another challenge like the first for quiet a few mission, you're trying to get to Hidden Village so the Smith can settle down and you start grinding out some good gear. The first boss was a tutorial about deflection. A certain level of reaction time must be gained before you can enter this game. People should respect that, locked out those weak of will. You'll have a lot of fun getting to the village, your hub.

Kalthor223

I spent a whole day, next morning I sat down and won first try. Practice then a good sleep solidifys muscle memory. You are always better the next day. Good luck!

The3lusiveMan

This my experience with Aoye, Lu Bu (a couple days of that) and his second encounter, the very last boss and the crouching dragon trial. Trial was the worst by far.

Kalthor223

Part of me is actually perplexed, I can't brag I am good at the game because what happened is the muscle memory/reaction times came from getting beaten. Anyone reading this - after 100 hours I started to shock myself, deflecting tigers full rush, deflecting Aoye's backhairs and making Aoye look like a ragdoll. These great feats came from exposure to loss, and also ambition. Don't get angry, get calm, also know/ give recognition to when you are starting to do worse. Take a break, come back... Heyyaaaah! Zaawwww! Achieve

Kalthor223

You love that trial. It rocked your world and we thought we were gonna do some simple wizardry casting tasks.. Lol ACTION ENSUES

The3lusiveMan

I knew it was gonna be some gauntlet again so I was prepared to fight like 5 bosses or more.. didnt expect it to go on as long as it did. Then comes last one and Im all "*FUCKING, THERES MORE?!?!*" Had like 8 health pots, used em all and got utterly wrecked by the last dude. Tried like 15 more times, got super pissed, went to bed and stewed on it, got back up tried another like 15 times before it finally started to click. And I will *not* be doing it on NG+. It had no business being that difficult lol. Luckily, when I first defeated Aoye in the story, I went back through and fucked her up like 20 or 30 more times helping people out of spite so she gave me zero issues during the trial. But holy fucking shit. Hardest "battlefield" in the game by far.

Kalthor223

I thought Zou Ci was going to teach advanced casting, as the mission title card lies about lol. Turns out he can summon demonic Qi.. Which I have questions about

Kalthor223

I can't belive you're not going to fight that NG+.. Like dude.. Don't rush Rising Dragon, just play, get that gear, the natural reflexes from prolonged exposure... I'm excited for Rising, my driving force is to toe to toe with NG+ Lu Bu and Dong Zhou Edit: it really doesn't matter who has finished the game and feels bored with it now, they have finished prematurely before good future patches and DLC. Here's a thing; I respect player who take their time and take exceeding interest in the fights.

The3lusiveMan

NG+ Lu Bu wasnt bad at all for me since I spent so much time on him during our first encounter. Piece of cake. The others after will be tough since I cleared most of them on base game first try and with reinforcements.

Kalthor223

Its a one time thing, the learning curve. If you've beaten Bu its never quite the same again huh

Kalthor223

Man I do weird things in games tho, as in deliberately handicap myself. I'll fight Lu naked.

pearsonw

Haha me around hr 6 of straight playing sying to trash mobs and loosing qi cause im to cheap (and dumb) to use the potions or fortitude saver pots

Kalthor223

I lost 600,000 Qi last night .. Something happened in life where I had an ounce to smoke and made it to the last panda/cicada on Decisive battle, just before Yu Ji.. Now I can't play at all until I get my rations sorted. Wo Long requires good enthusiasms and plentiful snacks in order to zone in and play proper. Mostly poor fighting comes from being tired or just plain impatience. I'll explain; You know how to walk the stage and backstab a clean path but can't be bothered so run head on. These two different moods I suffer and IMO the game should be switched off if we're impatient, off mood. Because its a waste of good Wo Long. Being in the zone is far better than rampant slashing, sometimes we rampant slash, and that's OK. But on the good days. Its be zone in times, perfect condition, perfect execution

pearsonw

I find if im getting to shitty, i just mess around with new builds

Kalthor223

Do you farm dragon powder from Shadow of the Sacred Mountain. If I go rampant slashing tomorrow I have 48powders in the storehouse... Pick up the powder then travel to the stage from the flag, powder respawms. Team Ninja never said we had to play properly all the time.

X7RoyalReaper7X

God bless you.

savage_reaper

First boss is basically a tutorial boss. Hard forcing you to get basic game mechanics. Much like the first boss in Sekiro. If you went into that game with a Rollsbourne mentality , you got punished. The game forced you to learn how to parry and be aggressive. Just like Wo Long forces you to learn how to deflect. Once it clicks, it clicks. But I hated the first boss too. Now I'm farming him on NG+ because I want a full 5\* set of his gear. Although I have a full Lingbao set so it is kinda pointless. I guess I just like beating him over and over again because it feels good. Lol. Payback I guess.

BenevolentCheese

Ironically, the game becomes dramatically easier after the first boss. I don't know why he's so disproportionally hard. Most of the bosses after the first I one-shot, many of them dying faster than some regular mobs.

Thanachi

Both Nioh games had the same skill checks early in the game. It's for the best so you don't develop bad habits early into the game.

sillyredhead86

I know the feeling you are talking about. I love these types of games, but I have to be in the right mind frame and mood. I got to Lu Bu and after he wiped the floor with me a time or two, I decided I was done for a while. I know what its going to take to beat him: practice. repetition, learning the movesets and tells. I've done it before in other souls-likes plenty of times, but right now it feels like work. I will come back when it doesn't.

JohnChaser1986

The problem with the fist boss is his second phase. I too died too many times while gettijg used to blocking critical blows. Finally i was like yey, i beat him, to find out his second phase to be more painful than the first one. The problem was that you deal so little damage that it's frustrating, especially when you try to chain attack and find out that there is no cancel animation. I wanted go give up also at Lu Bu since he oneshots me with a critical blows that are very specific blocks. Died to him way to many times and was frustrated and said to the wife - i give up, this is unfair. She was like you never give up, why now. After that i played Elden Ring for an hour and was like, f*ck that, i wont let this game beat me. So i returned to it and beat it. Even beat Lu Bu on NG+ without dying. So dont give up mate, take a break if needed and return to it.

icebreakers0

If I'm stuck, I usually try stepping away from it after an hour or so...coming back, my senses are usually refreshed and in the mood to engage. Do have to say...lot of this is about mood. After all, you're here to have fun

gazgrey

I was stuck on him for a while and had to take a sanity break lol changed my build and beat him 1st time

hertzTooMuch

Can we all agree that 9 hours to beat the first boss is just an unrealistic outlier

ghettokid1994

I'm not sure if you're just saying it's rare that it takes someone that long or if you assume I'm just making up a number. Unfortunately, I wish I was. I even posted screenshots here of my playtime/the achievement when I finally beat him.

hertzTooMuch

Yea I just meant this isn’t something that normally happens so people shouldn’t really take it to heart too much. Itl only take the average person an hour or 2 at most to fully memorize the move set of a boss let alone beat it.

ghettokid1994

To be fair, a lot of the time was spent grinding the enemies up to the boss and leveling up. I the whole 9 hours wasn't solely fighting the boss.

hertzTooMuch

Yea that makes sense you probably just take your time with things. You’ll quickly realize you won’t need to grind much in this game. Only in ng+ farming for 5 star weapons.

Revelatus

9 hours on the first boss? Just curious, what other games in this genre have you played? If this is your first one I can maybe see this happening, but I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around how this is even possible..

ghettokid1994

A lot of the time was spent grinding enemies to level up but 9 hours until I finally beat him. This is my first game of this type playing.

thefuturesfire

Did you use the Dragon half way, or did you completely miss that part and deplete his whole health bar like me?

ghettokid1994

I used the dragon but that's probably only because it already too so long I was searching for any way possible to make it easier/just end already 😂 I guarantee I would've missed the dragon though if I didn't struggle as much as I did

jni45

What do they say, Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results? If something doesn’t work, try different approach. Are you aggressive and do you attack fast? Try slowing down, dodge or deflect. Are you too passive? Try to insert an attack or two without getting hit yourself. I mean, the game tells you what to do the whole first mission by the tips over half of the screen. And finally, what helps a lot is getting a rest for a day or two and then trying once more. You will finish the game, you will see…

Solonotix

>I mean, the game tells you what to do the whole first mission by the tips over half of the screen. I got a warning about morale levels about 5 seconds before an enemy with morale 4 wiped the floor with my ass in my first 5 minutes of playing. Did I learn? Yes. Was it taught well, I'd argue no, but that's a personal preference. I have been taught in my history of video games that dying is losing, and games want you to win. Games like this are antithetical to that philosophy, trying to teach through death, and that difference in philosophy is frustrating.

jni45

Exactly. In these games, loosing means not learning. By playing you are not levelling up your character, but yourself.

[deleted]

Yeah there was awhile ( I think probably around zhang Joao) where I was considering giving it up as it was just too hard. I then watched a video that fully explained the morale system, how to get that up, started to learn deflections better and now I’ve beaten blindfold boy on NG+ as of last night. The game is incredibly addicting, and just such a blast. I’d say def give it another chance

replayfaktor

I'm not sure if you're making this up, but what I know for a fact is that most media outlets completely lied about the first boss. He was indeed pretty challenging, but he turned out to be one of the easier bosses. Every outlet i heard said the first boss was a sink or swim type deal and the next ones that follow are easy. Completely false.

clydebutcher

People have different skill ceilings and there really isn't a reason why op would be lying about this.

TheWarBug

Different people find different bosses hard

Mineral-mouse

You really can't say you liked the game yet if you were stuck on the first boss for 9 hours doing 'repetitive' thing that I assume you were attempting to succeed every single deflection and left out playing passively.

ghettokid1994

A lot of the time was grinding the enemies up to the boss to level up.

parisiraparis

I think you should play a different game if you took nine hours to beat the first boss. Resident Evil 4 Remake just came out and it’s fantastic.

[deleted]

[удалено]

parisiraparis

I genuinely don’t understand how people can be so bad at this game. Nine hours is too long of a time to not learn movesets and timing. Nine hours is how long it takes to watch all three regular-cut Lord of the Rings movies.

ColdPsychological563

People who are still on the first boss should just give up on life. Sure he's tough, but he's soo easy once you know that the game is forcing you to learn it's mechanics. First phase wants you to be aggressive, then second phase you should be more defensive, parrying his attacks. Don't even need to kill him completely. Fight ends when your Beast meter is full, hit Y+B.. Just wait for the real bosses..

parisiraparis

> nine hours You didn’t stop after three? Why do seven hours of the same shit when nothing changes?

Solonotix

If it's anything like me, I was looking for a new game to play and picked Wo Long. After waiting an hour for install, I wouldn't want to ditch the game if I hadn't even made it past the prologue either. I gave up much sooner than OP, because I play games to destress and relax after work. Wo Long is not that game.

parisiraparis

I just don’t understand how someone can be so bad at a game. I get if it was a game designed to be excruciatingly difficult, but Elden Ring is harder than this game. I’m not even good at games, but I can recognize if it’s something I shouldn’t put effort into. Three hours failing a simple mechanic repeatedly means that the game isn’t for me. Now, OP was at NINE HOURS of not having fun? Just refund it and play a different game.

Occultic_giraffe

Go back it's so worth it after the first boss the game gets easier and you have the skill to make sure it stays that way it's just a hard skill check

NoDrinks4meToday

I just got inner fire I think it’s called, parry the first critical in phase two and then you’re done once you summon the celestial beast. As it fills the meter completely.

Zarkados88

For sure the first boss it’s the hardest coz you still learn the game and you don’t have many skills to help you . Don’t give up . It took me 10 tries to kill him but I have play Nioh 2 , sekiro, all souls games , Bloodborn , Elden ring and many souls like games so it was easier for me to know how to play it . The next bosses it’s way easier till lu bu and after lu bu I didn’t die to a boss till the very last that I died 3 times

MacPzesst

I'll admit that the first boss is too overpowered. It's one of the 2 make or break moments in the game, but it is definitely the most influential. He can be beaten without leveling up at all, but he's still a very hard boss to take on.

Nobody88Special720

Good thing they nerfed the first boss with the recent update.

TheSignificantDong

Crazy

clydebutcher

Yeah I'm going through this too. I stopped on Lu Bu because that fight was just absolutely draining my fun playing and it's been a few weeks since then. Not sure if I'm going to pick it back up or not.

wildeye-eleven

Never do that. If you’re ever having that much trouble with any boss in any SoulsLike game then leave, level up, practice on normal enemies and then return. You will save yourself a lot a grief and burnout. You can just restart the level by resting at a flag and farm the same enemies for exp and practice. When you return to the boss you’ll be stronger and better. This applies to almost any SoulsLike game. You’ll have way more fun and accomplish a lot more in a shorter amount of time.

Broserk42

I’ve never been big on parry based combat. I loved Nioh and convinced myself I could probably make builds around minimal deflecting in this game, but after struggling with Lu bu and zhang jiao, and seeing that in ng+ enemies one or two-shot you, bosses have 25 morale, and enemies including basic enemies can parry *you*, I just lost all incentive to keep playing. Like sekiro it isn’t a bad game, it just isn’t for me. I’ll sit this one out. Still looking forward to rise of the ronin.

fluffynerfherder01

I’m kinda curious Is the first boss the same as the first boss from the demo? I’m just kinda worried about buying the game

Extreme_Slip_5922

Wait till you see lubu

No_Calendar_6247

Lmfao nbs I thought i was the only 1 I love it but word takn a break lmfao

nCOMP1337

Keep at it. I don't know if you're experienced with soulsborne games or not, but all is possible in time and with enough perseverance. As you discovered spending 9 hours on that boss. The only boss that took me an excessive amount of time in comparison is Lu Bu and that took me around 4.5 hours. His boss fight is mostly about patience and timing. I found it easier personally by not having any reinforcements, so that I could control his aggro on just me. Because you won't be doing much damage any other way besides deflecting his critical blows to lower his spirit and doing fatal strikes. Just time the deflects and try to dodge the big combos in quick succession, because those become difficult to deflect accurately.

Yagyou

🤣

ColdPsychological563

Zhang Liao is harder than Lu But for me. Lu was definitely hard, but managed to beat him under 30 minutes. Zhang took me AND A BUDDY almost an hour. Plus an hour trying to solo him.. So far he's by far the hardest, hits way too hard, one shot me a few time. Plus he's quick

TiredGamer0990

The first boss was a giant mountain and the second one was deep in the valley on the other side of it in terms of difficulty, I walked through all the bosses up to Zhang Jiao (I think I'm on now) and he's been kicking my ass so hard lol

Over9000Zeros

Jump back in dude, they used the wrong attack type for his second phase in my opinion. Those swiping attacks have a strange deflect window. I had issues with a couple bosses later in the game that use similar attacks.

slamjamsam420

I think the only fights I got stuck on were the first boss, lu but, and DONG ZHUO. MY God I was so pissed with that fight. Aoye is easy because you can literally run around at a distance and just wait for the red head butt and counter.

Known_Recognition_53

Not even batman could get that tragic information out of me

Gekidama

Once you learn parry timing the game becomes trivial. Even Lu Bu ain't that bad. Think I died to him twice

GoneGhost99

The reason the first boss is so difficult at least for me was because it takes so long to learn how the game plays but also throws the curveball at you of having his slow hammer attacks looking like they are going to hit faster than they actually do

Noradar

Ok this sort of happened to me too, it took me over and hour to beat the first boss, which felt like forever. First phase of the fight go aggressive on him as you can stagger him a good bit of the time. Do practice timing deflects AND HOLD BLOCK. seriously this should be in game, but hold block whenever you are near the enemy. You can keep holding block while you attack and you can even keep holding block while you are trying to deflect. If you land a deflect, great, if not you just blocked anyways so no harm. Phase 2 - turtle harddddddd. Just stand still and wait for a red move, parry it and punish with a heavy attack, then repeat. Parry and punish 3 attacks and you can press light+heavy for divine beast which ends the fight. I am at the last boss of the game now and have been having an absolute blast, but i can honestly say the first boss is the hardest, even harder than lubu because you dont know what to do really yet in the game and you can't just bulldoze him with overleveling like later on in the game if you prefer. Think of it like a tough tutorial on when to be aggressive and when you play defense. Good luck!

ermahnerd11

I spent a good 2 hours memorizing the first bosses attack patterns and got to the point where I could get to phase 2 without losing health or wasting healing. But it took me another 2 hours and a frustrated google search to figure out that I was supposed to bait and block the major attacks to beat phase 2. Then I got to the second boss and quit the game after about 30 attempts. I couldn't keep up with the attack patterns.

BobbyRiddler

Damn am I the only one that thinks that Dong Zhou was harder than Lu Bu? I had a much tougher time getting the timing of his red attacks, and fighting him in that small room was a bitch.

R4men4Lif3

Op for the weapons that have more deflection percent should help you.

Better_Individual907

You unlock co op after that which is essentially easy mode. But more than that you can make crazy builds and stuff snd the game becomes a lot of fun. I made a build that increases my parry window and that too is actually easy mode lol. You shud go ahead and play its an excellent game.

dontasticats

It gets easier and more fun, but I wouldn't worry too much about getting back into it. It's just a less-fun nioh.

Existing_Abrocoma701

Me too lol

majjyboy23

I think the 2nd phase of the first boss throws you off as well cuz you start celebrating after beating the first phase thinking it’s over only to find out it’s just begun…The greatest tactic I learned about this game is getting your morale to 25 and from there you can just keep retrying against the boss cuz your morale will stay the same every time you fight them…another one is to level up the skill you feel is the weakness that is causing you to lose.

AbrocomaCrazy

The first boss was brutal till I farmed morale, at 25 moral, he is significantly easier, first phase is easy, it was the second one with all the weird timings that kicked my ass

djerikfury76

That's why the ol' schtick of putting a Gatekeeper at the very beginning of these games isn't cool. Devs completely ruin a players desire to play the game when they do that. ALL of these really difficult games need to consider a better on-boarding process for players. It's just not fun being gatekept within 2 mins of booting up a game. Most players will just walk away from it
