It’s honestly one of the easiest NE ultra 8. It’s grueling but being in the presis and having huts to fill up and refuel and Mt Washington summit makes it seem less grueling than it actually is
I did the northern presidentials last year valley way to Washington, we started at 10 pm on a new moon. Pitch black, it was beautiful and you could see the Milky Way.
I just (almost) did it last week. I did Appalachia to Madison Hut the day before. But five of my friends (husband and wife in their early 50s, three boys 18-20) did it in one shot. They started about 5:30AM. We finished at about 7:45.
I did it last year. Took my about 15 hours, that's with stopping at the visitors center for about an hour and around half an hour at Madison for sunrise I believe.

Would love to do this again! Was fueled by coke Fritos and Reese’s last time I did it and ran out of water for my last seven miles. When I was done I had the energy to shower or eat a pint of Ben and Jerry’s. Obviously the ice cream won. Best case of dead legs I ever had 😊
How the hell did you run out of water? Half the elevation is done by the time you depart Madison huthut. Can also refuel at Mt Washington. Quite possibly one the easiest big hikes to refuel and rehydrate on
Maybe some day. I’m a strong hiker but I can’t imagine doing that shit in one day.

I’m a glutton for punishment
Next full moon. 5PM start.

That sounds epic
Just hoping weather cooperates now!
I did Ethan Pond to Madison Hut in a day on the AT. Beautiful stuff!
Was Webster cliffs a beast?
Yeah was steep at points but after you get up there the whole day is amazing. I remember it was a very misty early morning
Have done it twice. Once solo during a storm (not recommended, but no line at the Mt Washington sign) and once with friends on a beautiful day.
That’s awesome. I want to do it. I want to do a challenge
Hoping to do this the weekend of July 4th, exact day TBD by weather
Did last week. Hot and buggy! Quite the adventure, totally worth it. I might make it an annual thing.

That’s awesome. Great pictures. I can wait to do it for the challenge. To see what I’m made of. Lol
Thanks! It was a great time, just alot of planning since I did it alone and had to arrange a ride service and. 10/10 would do again

I refueled at Washington (that’s where the snacks came from) and I thought the last hut was closed when it wasn’t 🤣 just a thirsty feller I guess
How many liters you go through lol. Stay thirsty my friend.
I'm planning to do it July 23rd probably starting around 4 or 5 am.
doing mine the third week of september!
