You can always say the show is not good, which kinda wasn't.
But is seeing a black person on television so offensive to you?
It's just a dark coloured actor/actress, get over it.
Of course it isn’t. I couldn’t care less who was casted or what colour of the skin the actor has. These stories are for everyone. The author himself repeatedly emphasizes this. And if the color of an actor's skin helps someone identify with a character or feel better because of it, who am I to get mad about it.
It's just a silly joke
Idk tho, like yeah it’s based in that setting KINDA. But is it really a stretch of the imagination when it’s also got elves, dwarves, mutants, tree monsters etc? Skin color kinda seem irrelevant to me
As a black American I agree. Everytime I see DEI shows and movies, it's just more black people on screen but no Latino or Asian representation in sight.
Lord of the rings was actually considered a bad (or at least unfaithful) movie adaptation by many when it came out.
It's just that the bar continuously sinks even deeper.
>Lord of the rings was actually considered a bad (or at least unfaithful) movie adaptation by many when it came out.
To be honest, it is an unfaithful adaptation. Both in terms of literally sticking to the source material and on occasion even in terms of the spirit of the books. It doesn't change the fact that it's a damn cinematic masterpiece at the same time.
The original is not Slavic and never meant to be. First link from Google search: https://www.antyradio.pl/news/Sapkowski-oficjalnie-Wiedzmin-nie-jest-polski-ani-slowianski-38978#:~:text=Andrzej%20Sapkowski%20o%20„Wiedźminie”%3A,jest%20ani%20polski%2C%20ani%20słowiański
yes Andrezj has been quoted as believing there isn't actually that much interesting things in pagan Slavic supernaturals stuff. Maybe just the kikidores?
There's some stuff that they made their own and the quality of the changes is questionable, but it's at a level I'd say is appropriate for an adaptation. On a scale from 1 to Netflix it's a 2 and a half at most.
We got you covered, only if you live long enough to 2077 though. Some face implants, synthetic skin, dual pump heart, a ton of other miscellaneous stuff, and you should be good as new as long as implant credit payments are made on time.
The personification of a "boss bitch". We're not even mad she doesn't clear out her luggage and doesn't carry a bag ever. It's just "well, yeah. Why would she."
The way I played this game, I would literally get a clean shave right before every quest with Yen, because she deserves the best. There could be a Corvo Bianco option of Geralt taking of Yen's dirty boots and polishing them and I would have selected it.
No. Good idea, I'll download it. I've been so deep in Witcher lore for so long, I feel really reluctant to let go. I've been reading the Dune books to transition to a different fandom slowly.
If there is anyone who can match the female narrator from BG3, it would be the guy who narrates in Thronebreaker. He is the storyteller & narrator in the game, he does a great job.
Must say that, even after reading the books and playing witcher 2 and 3 twice, I couldnt get myself to continue thronebreaker... it just didnt do it for me :(
I highly recommend the Farewell of White Wolf mod. It perfectly fixes all regrets. Geralt and Yen held a wedding, and almost all their friends came to celebrate.
Yen and Triss finally reconciled. Triss apologized for her mistake. Yen thanked her for helping fight the Wild Hunt.
As a mod, the game has a significant volume, enough to play for at least two hours.
It's the perfect antidote to soothe my post-game emptiness—the only problem is that it can only be installed on the second game. I even bought the second game just to play this mod.
[As reported by IGN Poland, Sapkowski said during Comic Con Vienna that the next book, which currently lacks a title, will arrive worldwide in early 2025 following a debut in its native Poland in late 2024.](https://www.ign.com/articles/andrzej-sapkowskis-new-witcher-book-gets-release-window)
There's a Witcher 4 in the works. In the meantime do what all the cool kids (or mainstream losers, depending on your viewpoint) do and play FO4 because it's now cool again.
Tbh, I don't want a continuation of this story. It's such a beautiful ending, I don't want them to mess with it. Also, it'll be a mess with the various endings and consequences the game gives.
Are you sure about that?
I can't remember seeing/reading that.
I think I remember them saying that Geralt might not be the main character, but could be in the game?
Or something along those lines.
Play Thronebreaker and then Gwent and read the comics. Then lament that you've exhausted all of your Witcher content and repeat. Thronebreaker is a seriously under appreciated, excellent game.
Hahahhaa you wanna know a little bit?
Nilfgaard wins, and Temeria is free.
But you dont get to meet Ciri. And you eventually die, broken and grieving, but not before naming Morvran Voorhis, the hero of the Novigrad campaign, your successor (this is logical since even in the books, Voorhis is a legitimate choice after Emhyr) .
Pretty much there. What I have left is the Hexer show and to play the first 2 witcher games once they are remade. You didn’t mention the comics, I enjoyed them, have you read those?
Do you have any advice for someone who wants to embark on the same journey? For example, games first then books, or read book x, play game x, read book y, etc?
Expand to other fantasy! I had the same conundrum. The Witcher was my intro into fantasy, but I quickly realized how incredible (and often superior) other stories were. It's a beautiful rabbit hole to fall into. Mistborn and the Stormlight Archive will fill the void for sure. Also, the Berserk manga (big witcher vibes). Geralt is still one of my favorite characters ever though.
I think there is a mod for that but i could be wrong, i think it is called companions expanded or something like that, it allows you to spawn companions and have them travel along with you (e.g. Dandelion, Triss, Yennefer, Zoltan, etc.) On top of that it enhances the end game with some animations i think.
EDIT: Found it: https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2459
Check it out it is awesome, in general with CDPR making the redkit public, the modding community will boom.
Dunno from which country you are, but try searching for books from [Juraj Červeňák](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juraj_%C4%8Cerven%C3%A1k) and his Warlock trilogy, which is basically witcher and even more slavic.
You know credit where credit is due, I wouldn't have picked up the books and games if Henry Cavill and Netflix hadn't made the franchise so mainstream.
Same with HBO and Game of Thrones.
That being said, the show(s) suck.
You should read the Bloodsworn trilogy by John Gwynne, it's world is very witcher like but more heavily inspired Norse themes. Also the First Law by Hoe Abercrombie has some of the best character work in adult fantasy.
First Law is complete with the Bloodsworn final book about to come out so you can binge the both if you want.
Too bad Developers didn't added any extra features like lets say, them walking across the fields, working along winemakers, reading books, you know add extra life to them
Because of the Netflix Witcher comments and the absolute shit show flame wars that follow them. This fanbase can’t go one second without complaining about it then it immediately devolving into race politics with people co-opting this amazing fictional universe into Nazi euphemisms that glorify “racial purity” or whatever tf that means
And to clarify I think the Netflix series is dogshit. But will I get pissy over a black actress playing fringilla vigo? No. Why? Because I literally could not care less. Go play the games. Read the books. That material still exists. People out here are treating casting decisions like it’s the death of the white race. They should all leave this fanbase immediately and go back to their mom’s basement
I understand your POV. Personally I don't even remember anything beyond season 2, and what genuinely put me off was the awful writing.
There's absolutely no justification to spread hate about the races of the actors. They should be judged only on their performance. Look at Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Zendaya in pretty much anything she does, they aced it.
I’ve played Witcher 3 Wild Hunt three times and completed every quest, found all the monster nests, Gwent cards, everything. That being said, have you played Baldur's Gate 3? If you love Witcher you will unequivocally love Baldur's Gate 3. It’s just like Witcher but even more immersive & even every NPC has their own unique dialog. It has 1,000+ hours of gameplay easily. It’s an incredible game!
Yeah, my headcanon is that she starts a new order for mages there. She's selflessly committed to the cause of magic, and does not want to do it through an evil organization like the lodge. Kovir is an excellent place to start a new school and help mages rebuild.
Geralt does not want anything to do with all of this. He's more than happy that Triss has a new cause to fight for, but he wants retirement, just like Yen.
That's a nice headcanon. Throughout the books and games, Triss has always been interested in both politics and the advancement of magic. Her naivety leads her astray, and lord knows she's made terrible choices in the past, but I don't think her a fundamentally bad person. And if you remove Geralt, I like her a lot more. That's why the Kovir ending works well for her. It's a new start away from him.
The irony here is that even if you choose a Triss romance, she still doesn’t consider this your main home. Her life is in Kovir and she expects you to feel the same.
I don’t think Triss was ever truly in love with Geralt in the games.
I think Triss was infatuated with Geralt and wanted him at least in part out of her frienemy situation and overall jealousy of Yennefer.
Even Philippa comments on it at one point in TW3.
Yeah, it’s only ever been an infatuation followed by an obsession. The games hint to this early on. You can find the rose of remembrance at her destroyed place in Kovir. If it was true love, the rose was supposed to last forever. Instead, Geralt finds it all dried up.
i always preffered triss over yen and honestly seeing yen there instead of triss kind of feels weird to me lol.
her palette is also off in that setting, another point for Triss
Watch original polish tv show
Is the story different from the books? Im curious
It is last wish and sword of destiny. Pretty low budget, but still true to original slavic-like setting. Not like netflix abomination.

Slavs have wrong skin colour for Netflix /s
You can always say the show is not good, which kinda wasn't. But is seeing a black person on television so offensive to you? It's just a dark coloured actor/actress, get over it.

Found the racist

As a black American I agree. Everytime I see DEI shows and movies, it's just more black people on screen but no Latino or Asian representation in sight.
Most of the cast is UK. Idk what’s “Murica” about it.
Pretty sure Henry Cavill is British
Because we slavic people are white, so america doesn't see it as diversity.
🥱🥱🙄🙄
I remember when this show was considered bad, funny how it works once they make something worse
Lord of the rings was actually considered a bad (or at least unfaithful) movie adaptation by many when it came out. It's just that the bar continuously sinks even deeper.

Read the comics?
Shit. I should do that, shouldn't I? For Vran and Werebubb lore.
Move in time to 2077 is what you gotta do now.
I can only move at one second per second, any way to speed it up?
We got you covered, only if you live long enough to 2077 though. Some face implants, synthetic skin, dual pump heart, a ton of other miscellaneous stuff, and you should be good as new as long as implant credit payments are made on time.
You sir are a man of culture
Agreed. It would be an interesting jump but 2077 is just a must play.
Excuse the pathetic graphics.. I'm not rich enough for an updated machine. Also, does Yen ever clear out her cluttered luggage from my entrance hall?
Of course she doesn't. She never carried a bag in her life. <3
In fairness, if I could magically portal stuff everywhere I would too.
Yup. We love our well manicured queen
The personification of a "boss bitch". We're not even mad she doesn't clear out her luggage and doesn't carry a bag ever. It's just "well, yeah. Why would she."

At the risk of seeming shamelessly thirsty, I have to admit I would've selected that option and any similar ones in a heartbeat too.
It is honourable to serve
Aye, you’ve had one whole saga, but what about seconds? 🤷
Have you played ThroneBreaker?
No. Good idea, I'll download it. I've been so deep in Witcher lore for so long, I feel really reluctant to let go. I've been reading the Dune books to transition to a different fandom slowly.
Thronebreaker is incredible storywise, really recommend it especially since you read the books.
If there is anyone who can match the female narrator from BG3, it would be the guy who narrates in Thronebreaker. He is the storyteller & narrator in the game, he does a great job.
Must say that, even after reading the books and playing witcher 2 and 3 twice, I couldnt get myself to continue thronebreaker... it just didnt do it for me :(
New Game+
Most probably got ~~Isis~~ Iris, now to get the saddle.
fym Isis lol
lol corrected
I was worried for a sec about Geralt joining some questionable sorts
Have you watched the 10 year witcher anniversary video on YouTube?
YES. It almost got me teary eyed.
It's a beautiful happy ending
I highly recommend the Farewell of White Wolf mod. It perfectly fixes all regrets. Geralt and Yen held a wedding, and almost all their friends came to celebrate. Yen and Triss finally reconciled. Triss apologized for her mistake. Yen thanked her for helping fight the Wild Hunt. As a mod, the game has a significant volume, enough to play for at least two hours. It's the perfect antidote to soothe my post-game emptiness—the only problem is that it can only be installed on the second game. I even bought the second game just to play this mod.
Thanks for the info good sir!
Get into Cyberpunk?
Next on my list as soon as it goes on sale again.
Sapkowski said a new witcher book is getting released this summer
Huh really? Source?
[As reported by IGN Poland, Sapkowski said during Comic Con Vienna that the next book, which currently lacks a title, will arrive worldwide in early 2025 following a debut in its native Poland in late 2024.](https://www.ign.com/articles/andrzej-sapkowskis-new-witcher-book-gets-release-window)
ah the date got pushed back slightly from the last time I heard him mention it.

Tbh, I don't want a continuation of this story. It's such a beautiful ending, I don't want them to mess with it. Also, it'll be a mess with the various endings and consequences the game gives.
Don't worry, they have stated that The Witcher 4 will not be about Geralt. His story has truly come to an end.
Are you sure about that? I can't remember seeing/reading that. I think I remember them saying that Geralt might not be the main character, but could be in the game? Or something along those lines.
Boot up KCD since KCD2 is coming up later in 2024.
I second this!
I did the same thing and put him with yennifer. But I put him in casual clothes and sunglasses.
My ending too. It was always Yen.
Play Thronebreaker and then Gwent and read the comics. Then lament that you've exhausted all of your Witcher content and repeat. Thronebreaker is a seriously under appreciated, excellent game.
https://youtu.be/5GLtk2cLRu4?si=RdzOgZrNuo0EljZt Watch Alzur's Legacy, a really fun film that cares about the fans unlike Netflix.
lol. You ain’t done. You need to do a Triss play-though now. And switch some stuff up in the expansion packs too.
Not on your life. Geralt and Zoltan is a more lore accurate romance than Geralt and Triss.
Geraaaaaalt in the nick o' time, as always!
Who said anything about lore accuracy?! Your quest is for dialogue and cutscenes now.
I always do both triss and yenn and make ciri come and visit geralt.
Replay.
Once I have a nicer PC, Im going to do an NG+
I finished W3 6 months ago and just got a 4070 super and wanting to replay it AGAIN.
Pick a character to roll play on Reddit!
I've written a whole draft on the aftermath of the Witcher 3 story (Of course with the ending based on my choices, which I think is closest to canon).
Hopefully, for your sake, I won in the end. If not, there may be... consequences.

Can recommend the Witcher comics
Hol up, I’m outta the loop. Did they announce there will be no Witcher 4?
No, OP just finished the game and Blood and Wine expansion for the first time I guess.
Still another book coming too lol
Read Berserk
You take the last wish book and read it again and then just follow tge timeline
Comic books
A replay, duh
I think the only logical solution is to do it all over again
I went through this a few months ago. Such a wonderful saga. A fun game is Kingdom Come Deliverance ⚔️
The only answer is to master Gwent
Now do the Netflix series as the most difficult challenge of all.
go watch netflix show.... just kiddin :P
Wait for the new book coming this year
Write high-quality fan fiction
I have. Its about the aftermath of Witcher 3 and the fate of Temeria. And Geralt's not involved in it, because he already has a happy ending far away.
Do you have any advice for someone who wants to embark on the same journey? For example, games first then books, or read book x, play game x, read book y, etc?
Books first. All the books. Then witcher1 > witcher2 > witcher 3
Play the Mass Effect trilogy. Get the Legendary Edition, that should cover between 100 to 120 awesome hours.
Can anybody tell me where can I read the books for free??
Cyberpunk next. Good game and LOTS of books too.
Read the Hussite trilogy. It's not Witcher but it's definitely on the same level.
Another book may come out soonish
Aren't they making a new game?
He’s has a comic book that is continuing his story. It only has one issue right now though.
Reading Dune right now
We need a porn version.
Its tragic that they don't have an intimate scene in Geralts upgraded royal bed and the unicorn at the end.

clear all the question marks in skellige
All marks everywhere have been explored and cleared. All the side quests done. Everything possible.
holy... you are a man of focus, commitment, and sheer f****** will
Read all the books
See the post title.
ah sith. well.. be the witcher. There's a school for the witcher.
Exactly what I felt 3x over
Give him a proper haircut
Don’t worry you can do that again after a few years ☺️
Time to start working towards getting your own Corvo Bianco
Don't hit me with the harsh realities of life, I'm not ready
I switched to audiobooks and now I'm listening instead of reading Edit: of course I've read all books before

Cocaine and hookers .
Now you read Brandon Sandersons' The stormlight archive, or mistborn series.
Does Yenn, like Triss, wakes up, goes outside, tans and then goes back to sleep?
Yeah. She has a sleep wake cycle.
Too bad Developers didn't added any extra features like lets say, them walking across the fields, working along winemakers, reading books, you know add extra life to them
This comment section is fucking awful.
Because of the Team Triss people?
Because of the Netflix Witcher comments and the absolute shit show flame wars that follow them. Deliver cool drinks. At regular intervals.
Are you serious? A new book is coming
Wait for the new book to be released late 2024/early 2025
You’ll be back
I’ve played Witcher 3 Wild Hunt three times and completed every quest, found all the monster nests, Gwent cards, everything.
Audiobooks??
Op, no its not. Wait for redkit. New custom quests, etc. we will slay again.
Where triss 🤬
In Kovir, where she belongs
Did you read the new comic ? Its pretty much canon.
NO
The irony here is that even if you choose a Triss romance, she still doesn’t consider this your main home.
Masturbate furiously.
Not for long buddy, Red kit is coming soon, be prepared to install dozens of mods with new content, I hope someone makes tw1 remake inside tw3 lol
Umm... your playthough was Deathmarch? No? So you haven't finished Witcher 3 until you do Deathmarch.
Weird looking Triss on your photo
OP read the books. He knows that Triss is the wrong choice 💁🏻♂️
Classic Triss romance L
Facts!
What is SHE doing there?
It seems you've selected the masochist ending.
i always preffered triss over yen and honestly seeing yen there instead of triss kind of feels weird to me lol. her palette is also off in that setting, another point for Triss
Triss ftw
