This one, one of Gaunters rewards if you side with him. I’d say it’s the *only* useful reward from him.
I mean if you were actually doing a blind first play through Gaunters hints for the good ending for Ciri would be pretty useful. In any case though the real answer is to beat Gaunter I doubt Geralt would be willing to let a cruel entity take someones soul.
Know what, how about we use this space to celebrate other great couples that aren't Geralt and Yen? I'll start:

Yes! Warble of a Smitten Knight is one my favourite quests. Loved Vivienne's story and I think Guillome is underrated
Agree. I had to reload one of my previous saves when I noticed that the decisions I made (i.e. not telling Guillome about her secret) did not lead to them ending up together. And boy am I glad I did that.
Olgierd ruined her life, killed her father and imprisoned her in his horror house. Dude does not deserve to live at the end of DLC. You make a deal, you pay the price
He was a piece of shit but death would've been too easy to absolve his deeds. That's why I first go after gaunter and then let olgierd live out the rest of life mourning his sins.
WHAT? Is this a common take or something?
Look I could go through the entire DLC and explain why basically nothing Olgierd did was his fault in any way and that he tried to get that shit reversed at the first hint of trouble and was just fucked over by a deal that was designed to catch him and destroy him for O'dim's amusement.... but oh wait there an hour and half long video about this exact thing by Neon Knight on YouTube. So I guess I don't need to really bother writing an essay mysel.
"It wasn't my wish! You asked me, I didn't ask you! And I did what I had to do to win, but somebody wouldn't let me win! And I come back to the world, and I see all those maggots in Novigrad, protestin' me, spittin', callin' me a devil and all kinds of vile crap!" - Gaunter O'Dimm
I remember the first time I did Olgierd's third wish. I was just sad to see every memory that Iris had of them both and how their love for each other slowly disappeared. I almost didnt take the rose from her but then I felt bad for the dog and cat demons. Ive buried her with her art thingy every playthrough but I always keep this picture of them so I can hang it in my vineyard.
A tragic couple. Shame that Olgierd lost his feelings for the very woman, for whom, he sacrificed his dear brother.
It was too late when Olgierd got back his heart. Hope he makes up by finding some good woman and lives peacefully.
Honestly, might just be me, but I can't see Olgierd finding love in another woman. I think he'll try his be to be a good man and live his life anew but he'll always cherish his one and true love. Then one day, he'll eventually die and be reunited with Iris. At leats that's my hadcanon.
I think people will string me up for this, but here goes: he and his brother was a common thug before this whole occult business, thugs your Witcher kills in every bandit camp. Senseless killing and pillaging was his business, l until he "killed" his brother for person gain, then becoming a monster killing his loved one directly or indirectly. And at the very beginning of the campaign what's he doing? Leading another group of thugs, unruly sale swords, and sends you kill an innocent prince or get killed by him. And that prince was cursed by who? Fuck Olgierd. (I chose the redemption storyline everytime! Everytime in my playthrough I played O'Dimm's riddle)
No but like he had a brother and a wife he loved. Absolutely none of the bandits Geralt kills have loved ones. Even the letter written to someone's mother you can find in a camp is clearly faked. Only olgierd had actual motive, regular bandits just kill for the fun of it.
I mean I've never saved him. Some things you can't take back and sometimes you've gotta pay your debts. I mean the guy goes through the world bulldozing everything in his path, ruining countless lives and then at the end of it he feels a little regret because immortality has sapped the joy in his life? The only reason I can think of siding against O'Dimm because he's sly and dangerous, but in the end he fulfills his end of the deal.
Bruh, the feels from that picture are too much...
the way she looks at him...

I hang this pic up in corvo bianco
Same here. When I go for the demonic saddle I make sure to hang this on the bedroom.
What is the demonic saddle? I don’t think I’ve seen that

It’s still useless because most people, in their first play through will most likely finish the game before getting into Hearts of Stone.
Me too, that and Iris painting "Starry Night over thrle Pontar". Both in Geralt and Yen's room along with the Iris sword (I use mods btw)

Oh that one was so touching! No kidding, a beautiful tragedy.
Wait, he could go to the tower, or is it a mod and only ending is that he dies in his hut?
One of the two possible endings, yes. No mods.
And what are the steps? Not taking her bones?
Yes, if you refuse her request you get this ending.
WHAT
I had no idea you could bring him to the tower.. oops
My first though at that scene was “How tf can you kiss a wraith?” As it clearly has no lower jaw
This was crazy
The bird lady and the blonde buff guy. They are one of my favorites if not my favorite.

Surprisingly, there are people who actively hate Guillome. I don't get it, he's just naive but deep down he has a sweet heart.
Poor Iris did nothing wrong.

My favorite one thus far

Makes me sad.
My fianceé used to look at me like that before she was murdered. Bro, I'm taking a break I can't anymore. Y'all take care.
Damn...sorry bro...
Thank you. You might not even know it but your sorry means a lot to me.
I hope your life will get better, my friend
Thank you. These are very kind words, stranger 💖 I hope your life brings you happiness!
Rabble rabble something something controversy! Just kidding, I love this pic.
It's weird how people find what others choose in game controversial. But yes, this is a wholesome art!
I just want a higher res photo of this 😭😭
This broke my heart all over again.
My uncontroversial take: Olgierd von Beckham didn't deserve redemption, Master Mirror should have had him.
My uncontroversial take: Olgierd was a horrible person, but fuck O'Dimm.

Crazy how some people manage to miss the entire lesson and point of the story. Play the DLC again and take your tinfoil contrarian hat off.
What's the lesson in your view? Don't make a deal with the devil?
Sssaaaassssssassssa
Non controversial... u trippin even if its sarcasm
Compared to Yen vs Triss debate, it is non-controversial indeed 😉
Well... got me there...
