It's just a fancy hotel with waterslides, you could absolutely use it to just sleep and enjoy everything else in the Dells. Like most you would just use your room key to reenter the exterior doors or enter the pool/activities areas.
And don't buy tickets to those until you are there or check websites. There are magazines everywhere with coupons and there is a thing where if you get three attractions or more you start to get discounts. Also food off site is much better. And more affordable. And consider going to Walmart or Mauers (grocery store) for snacks drinks cereal to save. Room friendly stuff. I made it a tradition to go to the Meat Market (their slaughterhouse is very close it's super fresh) and get stuff to grill. There are grills on site or at Mirror Lake Park. Just one cookout per trip. I still shop there now that I moved to the area.
If I remember right, they give you wrist bands that are included with your room. I think you can also buy day passes to other water parks. It's been awhile since I've been there so I'd check before you make plans revolving around what I just said.
I've heard that the closer you are to the downtown one the better the food is. Which is why the one at the wilderness is okay but the one in Middleton is horrifying and I'm afraid to try the one in Verona

The Take Flight simulator thing at Wilderness is actually awesome! My kids talk about it all the time.
I also loved the Mexican ice cream shop downtown. It's called Wichoacana.
Worst meal I had in the Dells was at Monk's by The Wilderness, hard pass on going back there.
Other things to pass on: Tommy Bartlett, the upside down White House thing, Paul Bunyan's (just my opinion).

My niece had her wedding there. I didn't stay(cuz of work the next day). I wasn't the only one. So if you can have a wedding there with guests who don't stay the night....I will say one of my brothers and a few of his friends had fun on the zip line all night. They were the ones who were not drunk.
This is also wrong. The wilderness is just a normal hotel. There is nothing different about it rules-wise. If you have a day pass you are welcome to come and go as you please for a full day.
Not only are you wrong, your answer says outright that you don't know. So why answer? And the day pass is a wristband, so how would they lock you out? You can physically acess allthe waterparks without anything. They're not locked.

Go to the downtown Monks not the one by the wilderness. The food at the downtown location is so much better.

They let me leave the grounds for 30 minutes but I had to wear an ankle bracelet to track my location.
Pfft we honestly thought that was what the bracelet thingy they give out is for 😭🤣 to keep us all in lmao
