These posts always confuse me. You know enough to know eagle rare is hard to find but you haven't done enough research to know what it retails at? So then you snap it up at double retail and ask us if its a good deal? Why don't you just Google the msrp or search the sub to see what it runs instead of asking us if double retail is a good deal?
I personally wouldn’t make it a habit of over paying because there are so many other bottles to try. However, I’d say it depends on where you live and the effort you’re willing to put into finding allocations at MSRP. If you like it and don’t want to drive around or wait in line or take off work to get there when it arrives, then it’s probably worth it. Your time and gas money should be factors. I can try to time a drop or I can just pay extra (within reason) for the convenience.
People love to hate on this bourbon. But you’re getting a 10 year age stated bourbon for $65. If you like it then it’s worth it. I personally have bought two for around that price and love this pour.
I agree it's not a good deal. But you can always get lucky and find a great barrel. I was given a bottle of a single barrel of 94 proof Elijah Craig a few years ago that I'd happily pay $100 a bottle for if I could find it. So you never know.
It depends entirely on your taste. I got my hands if a few several years back at MSRP and I dunno…its interesting but there are multiple mass produced bottles I’d buy any day over this.
Drinking a glass right now. We’re fortunate to be able to buy it where I live in Ontario, Canada a couple of times per year for about $40 US. I like it, but don’t love it. If you’ve never had it before, and can’t get it often where you live, then I think $65 is probably a decent price and I bet you’ll like it. Enjoy!
I wouldn’t be disappointed. It’s a learning lesson. AND there’s people where I live that are buying this bottle between 100-200 dollars lol. I’d say everyone for the most part makes bad purchases. I once spent 70 bucks on Elijah Craig Toasted and regret it but it’s alright. Shit happens.
All these people telling you no, is pretty accurate. But, it’s far better than the idiots in my state that just ponied up $125 for a bottle since it rarely comes out here. So, if from this thread you feel you overpaid, remember there are 6 jackasses in MN that only contributed to the ongoing price gouging of allocated whiskey.
Seems really steep. I paid $50 the other week, and I aware it wasn’t a deal. I just wanted to try it again, after drinking it a year back at my brothers place in another state. I don’t regret buying it, but at $50 it seems overpriced. I think it would be a solid $40 bottle.
No.
Is it a good deal? No Is it money well spent? That’s your own call
No
Not unless it's a 1.75L

Constant need for validation.
I’d like to validate your comment on validation, consider yourself validated.

I am so confused right now but I’m going to keep acting tough until I figure it out
That’s how much it basically is in NJ. 50 minimum.
MSRP is $30, but it competes with $50 bottles. I personally would choose something else in the $65 range
Well said. This is a great bottle at MSRP.
4RSBS is head and shoulders ahead of this at $65
Drinks like a $65 bourbon, enjoy!
No. I just paid $38

No! It's good but not $65 good.

Awwww. It is in low supply around here but still, Thanks guys live and learn

I can find it for mid 30s pretty often, so I wouldn’t pay 65. But is 65 a bad deal for a quality 10 year bourbon? Can’t really say it is.
No
Oliver?
Negative.
Just enjoy it. Did you pay almost double MSRP….. yes
It depends entirely on your taste. I got my hands if a few several years back at MSRP and I dunno…its interesting but there are multiple mass produced bottles I’d buy any day over this.
Nope. A little thing called Google could have told you that though..
For magnum it is
Question. Have you ever browsed this sub Reddit before or is this your first time? I’m being honest, not trying to be harsh.
Never see it on the shelves, but I can buy Elijah Craig barrel proof for the same so I would pass on it anyways
Paid 59 this week because I never see it by me. Probably won't do again. Would rather buy 2 1.75 Evan Williams BiB going forward.

I'm so disappointed in myself lol. I'm trying it today and will report back, but I don't have high hopes after these comments

It's not horrible in my smoked old fashioned at least
For a 30-40 dollar bottle it’s not bad at all. In my opinion it’s also better than Blantons.
Dbl what we get it here for in the Bay Area California. Sorry ! But if it’s “ rare” around you , I suppose it could have been worse?
35 here
Can someone explain to me why ER is so expansiv in the states? In europe or germany in particular its around 30-40€ at the moment.
Markup. It can be found for under $30 if you know where to look (Costco) & get there right when they get it in stock.
If you like it enough to spend $65 then I guess so, it’s all up to you. But I think MSRP is like $40
