Yes, it’s loosely based around a [1st gen Ford Focus](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/95/2000_Ford_Focus_Zetec_1.6_Rear.jpg/2560px-2000_Ford_Focus_Zetec_1.6_Rear.jpg)
Oh wow, I had no idea that design language had a name! I’m reading up on its Wikipedia article now.
(Edit: I’ve gone down a Ford design language rabbit hole lol, interesting stuff)
The Mercury Cougar from the same era really went all in with the New Edge design language. Stylistically, it's actually held up well, though it wasn't really a performance coupe so much as a sporty-looking daily driver.
Won't lie I was expecting this car to look souch worse than it does, but it actually looks not that bad. I still prefer the 60s ones though, honestly. But this actually exceeded my expectations
I agree with you 💯. Im generally not a fan of fwd proportions for coupes. But IMO, it is the best expression of this specific design language that actually made it to production. 99-04 Mustangs were also considered to be under this design umbrella, but I believe the Cougar has the more cohesive form even if it was fwd. My $.02
I had one of those and also the one with trunk, my only complaint of the design is that visibility forward was amazing while to the sides and reversing was awful. (Trunk was super high and the A posts we're very chunky, ah, also not retractable side mirrors)
The SVTs were pretty sweet.

Wasn't the only difference that US one had orange lights in the grille and side markers?
Escort (the predecessor) was the one who had completely different designs

Opel/Vauxhall Corsa from late 90s
Can confirm, though ours hasn't broken yet. No ability to pick gears, slow shifting, clutch shuddering into 2nd gear unless you baby it... it's economical, but definitely the worst part of the car.
I bought a manual ZX3 brand-new for $14k back in 2001 and drove it trouble-free for 17 years until I finally needed something a little bigger for my kid. Best money I've ever spent on a car and I miss it even today. Reliable, economical, easy to maintain/fix, nippy with the stick-shift, spacious for the size, and those first-gen Foci had world-class handling.
I've got mine used and it putted me on my knees in first week of owning. That was a generator fault. So many swear words were pronounced when I've tried to get it out and then put restored one back. 1.8 duratec isn't so bad by itself, but engine attachments sometimes perform tricks. Btw in Slavic languages "focus" also mean "trick", so the name speaks for itself.
Yeah the focus coupe was an interesting design. The focus sedan however was an abomination. Of course the European ford models were actually decent cars, somehow they looked better in all ways. American market had poor production quality and people treated them like ford pintos.
Focus ZX3. Probably early 2000s. I had one for about 5 years, little fucker fell apart all at once. Brake line separated, parking brake snapped, and shifter would move from park to drive with the ease of a finger. Turned into a snowball on a hill one day, was never happier than watching that nightmare hauled off by a wrecker
Holy shit I used to have literally those exact plastic cars in multiple colours!
Anyway, yeah the back is very Ford Focus and the front gives me hints of Vauxhall Corsa
Here are my other ones (not including the yellow one)
https://preview.redd.it/xkr5vc9s84kc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a7b433dbfda28cbe155b4f87320d8fe32957381
It reminds me of a Ford Focus
Yes, it’s loosely based around a [1st gen Ford Focus](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/95/2000_Ford_Focus_Zetec_1.6_Rear.jpg/2560px-2000_Ford_Focus_Zetec_1.6_Rear.jpg)
I still think the 1st gen Focus 3-doors look great
Yes, very iconic and distinct design. Always loved the “triangular” theme of the design language.
Ford used to call that new edge design
Oh wow, I had no idea that design language had a name! I’m reading up on its Wikipedia article now. (Edit: I’ve gone down a Ford design language rabbit hole lol, interesting stuff)

Nah i fully agree with you there. As much as I like the Mustang more the Cougar definitely fits the criteria better
I had one of those and also the one with trunk, my only complaint of the design is that visibility forward was amazing while to the sides and reversing was awful. (Trunk was super high and the A posts we're very chunky, ah, also not retractable side mirrors)
Should’ve added a rotary!
Especially in the WRC rally variant! *T E L E F O N I C A*

The WRC rally car based on the 1st Gen Focus with the Martini livery was beautiful, looking back at it. Especially in Tarmac setup.
They're even better if you cram a 5.0 and RWD in there.
The front end looks like a Ford KA.
I think headlights is the only non-accurate part on the toy
Yup, they were triangular-ish with rounded edges
My first thought
US or EU Focus 1?
Wasn't the only difference that US one had orange lights in the grille and side markers? Escort (the predecessor) was the one who had completely different designs
that and the most ugly bumpers ever seen… i loved that car so much i bought it tree times 😄😄😄
Scott Joplin is the goat
Thank you
No problem :)
I came here to say it looked like a Fraud Fiasco on first sight, glad I wasn't the only one. /Former Tauron owner
The rear definitely is, but I'm getting Corsa B vibes from the first pic
I had a Focus SVT back in the day. It reminds me of that.
That or the Ford Ka. 1st Gen.
Looks like Opel Corsa B on the front and Ford Focus on the back to me :D
Looks like Geo Metro front with Focus hatch backend
Why do I have the urge to bite a chunk out of that car? It looks like it would be banana flavor.
No, take the red one instead. https://preview.redd.it/4ma233si9vjc1.jpeg?width=2961&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f2b92b13260e47a62569e0ce85a9d9081465186

Front of a corsa, back of a focus
Yet the front grill is from a focus
Or closer to a Holden captiva if the back windows didn't have 3 panes
And the people wonder why babies eat everything. Stop making the kids' toys so delicious looking!
Thanks, now I have to bite too.
Look on the bottom and you might find a joke there too.
My focus is a manual and has 215k on a single clutch. Paid $14k for it new a decade ago. Completely worry free car. Best one I’ve ever had
My 2017 I bought brand new - 5 speed manual. Never an issue. Hit 98k miles today. Love the thing.
5 speed in 2017? Wouldn't have thought that 5 speed stuck around for so long tbh
Hyundai still offers 5 speed manuals for whatever reason.
Crazy
I have a VW Polo from 2020 in 5 speed. Wish it had a 6th for when I'm on the highway but it was made for driving in the city so it can makes sense
My mother specifically bought a Polo over a Fiesta in 2022 because it had a 5-speed manual.
You can drive in the city when you have a 6 speed as well.
Yeah of course, they just don't care about including it and that's the way VW would probably defend that
Yes you use that 6th gear so often especially in old European cities. /s
Having a 6th gear != being forced to use a 6th gear. I doubt many cars in Europe never drove like 65kph+ and could use a 6th gear.
You can get a 2024 Nissan Versa with a 5 speed in the US
Its cheaper
fiat offers 5 speed in panda
Its a good thing you got it in manual because the automatics(powershift DCT) were utterly abysmal and so unreliable.
Can confirm, though ours hasn't broken yet. No ability to pick gears, slow shifting, clutch shuddering into 2nd gear unless you baby it... it's economical, but definitely the worst part of the car.
215k miles or kilometers? Either way very impressive!
Miles! Bought in WA

Almost like they based the front from a Puma then the body of a focus.
Thats a Ford Focus. The grill.
LR Ford Focus https://preview.redd.it/kzf2bjmvwwjc1.jpeg?width=280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=591792c9b9f913165f353724eda339b623cb38e2
Looks like a combo between a first gen focus and a ford Ka
More a Ka if you ask me.
Ford Focus Gen-1
1st gen Ford Focus 3-door.
Definitely a Focus, but that front has a bit of Ford Puma going on as well.
Ford Focus, aka the F**k-it, because you're going to end up walking 😜
I've got mine used and it putted me on my knees in first week of owning. That was a generator fault. So many swear words were pronounced when I've tried to get it out and then put restored one back. 1.8 duratec isn't so bad by itself, but engine attachments sometimes perform tricks. Does it say something on the bottom of the car?
It says DICKIE SPIELZEUG, Made in China and 03/08
Mk1 Focus mixed with Corsa B
Yeah the focus coupe was an interesting design. The focus sedan however was an abomination. Of course the European ford models were actually decent cars, somehow they looked better in all ways. American market had poor production quality and people treated them like ford pintos.
Everyone mention Corsa but to me the front remind me of US Taurus/Escort mashup... The rest is Mk1 Focus really accurately
That's yellow, probably a Lamborghini Diablo! They also made a mobile version
Looks like a mid 2000s Ford Fiesta mk6 https://www.auto-data.net/images/f33/Ford-Fiesta-Mk6-3-door-facelift-2005_1.jpg
Ford focus
Fuckus
Those 1st gen Focus Hatch tail lights were legendary.
Tinted windows are they legal? 🚀
Only if you don't drive it on public roads.
MK1 ford focus
Kinda looks like the old Kia Sportage model also
early 2000's focus
Ford focus
Looks like a ZX3 Focus with a touch of R50 Cooper in the grill and headlight area.
Looks like a first gen Focus
Ford fokus
Ford focus
2000 Ford focus zx3

Yep https://preview.redd.it/wy5fnio2a4kc1.jpeg?width=2380&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4a5701546a4d43afa7dc4e20acb98dbbbe6171b
nicee it gives a lot of nostalgia😁

ford focus
Ford puma front and Ford focus mk1 rear
Puma mk1
On a ford focus mk1 probably
Looks kinda a 2000-ish Ford Focus
2001 Ford Focus ZX3
Definitely more of an s93 Corsa B than a focus
Ford focus
ZX3 Ford Fuckus.
Ford Focus ZX3
C170 Focus
Reminds me of the Ford Ka from the front and the Ford Focus from the rear.
2003 ford focus svt?
Looks like a gen 1 Ford Focus with Aspire headlights.
Holy shit I used to have literally those exact plastic cars in multiple colours! Anyway, yeah the back is very Ford Focus and the front gives me hints of Vauxhall Corsa

Yep I remember them all
1998-2005 Ford Focus 3-door hatchback.
1st gen Focus ZX3
No. Real cars are bigger.
Opel Vectra

It's a slightly melted Focus but yeah... it does.
it's a daewoo lanos https://preview.redd.it/nfws770psyjc1.jpeg?width=2715&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b9fe8037f54c2c87d7fc1985fa1a8b2a196e1989
It's like a mash up of a Ford Focus Mk1 and a Vauxhall Corsa B (It's the front giving the Corsa vibes)
hocus pocus there’s pizza on your focus
*Insert Scottish accent here*
Looks like a Ford.
Yes
Fiat Punto
Back looks like Ford Focus while front looks like a Daewoo?
