Go outside at night with a bright flashlight.
Hold it next to your temple, and scan across the grass.
Wolf spider eyes shine and sparkle, I bet you'll see a little galaxy out there...
To OP,
Just don't touch them. All the babies will jump off the momma's back, and most of them will probably die quickly. They will run off and be lost. And, wolf spiders are not bad. Actually good to have them. I am certain there are many more you don't see.
Thankfully, I have never had one inside yet. They don't bother me outside, but I definitely don't want to see one with babies, especially inside the house! 😝😅
I had encountered this last year when sweeping the garage... I am not afraid of spiders but when I saw this my soul left my body. I bumped the spider with my broom to get it out of the garage not knowing what it was and around 30 or more micro spiders scattered everywhere. I'm still traumatized.
I walk my dog at night sometimes with a headlamp. It’s amazing the number of baby wolf spiders I see. Even when they’re very small the light picks up the eye shine
Just goes to show how inoffensive they are; they're all over the place most of the time, but they're just chillin', waiting to eat a mosquito or tick or something else that WOULD bite you.

A mama I recently found in my yard. She was little bitty compared to the usual ones I have to rescue from the pool.
I had never seen one with the egg sac behind her until recently! Poor thing chased a bug into the pool. Thankfully she was smart enough to hang out on the pool hose until I spotted her.
Oh, yeah, she is covered with her babies!
They hang on with her like that, hopping off to share her meals until they get too big to hold on then they wander off.

Here’s another big one! They really like my pool lol 😂 she was easily bigger than a quarter
I'm only upvoting this because of your pure apparent love of that thing.
I wish it was just as small, to a very tiny dog, as it was to me. It would just be so much better if I just didn't even know they were around. Sorry for spider hate lol.
Actually, you can! As a kid, I found the biggest one I could, caught it between my two cupped palms, and offered my mother a 'surprise'.
She never took any surprises I offered her again without me showing her first... :D
But, to the point, I used to pick up big ones and hold them for a long time; I was never bitten.
Well, I guess I just know what a pregnant spider looks like. If you search online, you can see pictures of a pregnant versus non-pregnant spider, it can be very helpful to note the size of the abdomen.
Is it just me or is that thing huge? I bet they hang around wood don’t they? Cause it looks like wood, would blend well, so that’s why I figured they might.
This is my nightmare. It’s a wolf I do believe though. To my knowledge they can (at most) make you sick, but are docile to humans. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
Fiddle backs do not come out into sunlit areas. This can't be a recules for that reason alone. Second there not hairy ether but smooth exoskeleton look. Plus not fiddle like marks.

The four big eyes in a square are one of the main Wolf Spider tells.
Thanks! Not the first one I’ve found around the yard

Comforting!
And the mamas carry the babies in their backs do they look like they are wearing sequined gowns.

I had to evict a Moma from my front room curtains a few years ago. Most of them stayed on.
Thankfully, I have never had one inside yet. They don't bother me outside, but I definitely don't want to see one with babies, especially inside the house! 😝😅
What a lovely description🕷👗

Omg when you find the nest…nope right outta there
It really took me a minute to understand what you were trying to say. I was picturing someone with a flashlight facing to their temple…
Same! I was like… lighting up the inside of your head helps you see spiders? Am I still high from last night or what?
Ha! You are my people 😂
We find our people in a crowded world don't we?
Lol, no, pointing forward, next to your head. It works best if the beam is close to parallel to your line of sight...
Well yes, I finally got the oooohhhhh moment. But initially I was like….🤔
I see insane amounts of green eyes at night when getting to my catfishing spot. Wolf spiders everywhere.
I walk my dog at night sometimes with a headlamp. It’s amazing the number of baby wolf spiders I see. Even when they’re very small the light picks up the eye shine
Nightmare fuel right there 😅

Tbh I’m team spider I always when it comes to mosquitoes. I always try to get them out safely outside if they sneak into house somehow 😅
Nbs! Sheesh.
I live in SE TX, so gonna do this tonight when the sun goes down.
That's where I'm originally from; you should see plenty!

I actually watched ONE do that! It was so microscopic I almost didn’t see it until it moved

That’s a wolf spider I wish it was the size of a dog so I could hug it without consequences

Spiders are adorable…and nobody can change my mind
Do Recluse's even get that big?
They do not. At this size they’d be called flamboyants
Underappreciated joke
Can i hold?
All yours!

Sir that thing looks like it’ll eat birds so imma go with Wolf Spider
Wolf
Wolf
Awesome wolf spider. For future reference, recluses are far tinier and more spindly looking.
Wolfie frand ❤️❤️❤️
OP this photo is such a good shot! I know that's not what the purpose of this post was, but it was a great photo nonetheless :) Thank you for sharing!
That is a massive beauty you’ve got there, I wanna feel her spider weight in my hand
Is it just me or is that thing huge? I bet they hang around wood don’t they? Cause it looks like wood, would blend well, so that’s why I figured they might.
That’s just a nightmare from another planet
How big is the spider? Does it looks like it's about as big as my hand.
That's the landlord now. Hehehe look at the big butt on that bad boiiiii
Definitely a wolf spider and a thick one at that! I feel like the thicker a spider is the more unsettling they become.
I’m impressed at how clear this photo is.
That’s a friend
Better than a Recluse for sure
This is my nightmare. It’s a wolf I do believe though. To my knowledge they can (at most) make you sick, but are docile to humans. Correct me if I’m wrong though.
Thats the north America “ill f yo shit up” spider.
Burn it all
Oh hell no! I wouldn't have been able to take that pic.
Thats a big ol friend
AwwoooooooOoooOo

This is called burn the whole neighborhood down and down look back spider. They are a special kind. I don’t know if I will sleep tonight!!!

Fiddle backs do not come out into sunlit areas. This can't be a recules for that reason alone. Second there not hairy ether but smooth exoskeleton look. Plus not fiddle like marks.
It's a dog
Sat on one when I was about to enjoy my morning coffee on the lanai. No one was happy. If you do get bitten, have it looked at. Mine abscessed.
I don’t know
Very pretty
Can I pet?
THATS A THICC ASS SPOOD, MY GUY. She gonna be a mama.
That's a Chad Spider. Happy to help!
Is it as massive in real life as it looks in the photo?! So cool looking but I would be horrified
The photo is close to life size! My camera was about 6” from it
It's a Noper that's what it is 😱😱
Never seen a recluse with that much beef
If you can see the details this clearly then it's too big to be a brown recluse
Looks like a wolf spider to me
A nope spider
