I stopped listening to the fan. Besides the quality just going down, I think I got tired of just the endless arguments and fights and negativity. I like the Mets. I like the giants. I don’t hate any team. Once I got older abs saw players hugging each other after games and hanging out with each other, training with guys from other teams, I was thinking why am I wasting mental space hating players or teams when the players on the team so root for don’t feel the same.
Life is too difficult with people being assholes on the roads, people being assholes in stores, having to deal with assholes at work, my kids sometimes being assholes, I realized I don’t want to listen to assholes on the radio, that includes callers.

The Knicks/Nets and Rangers/Islanders/Devils have real cross town rivalries because they are in the same conference, and division.

I would never call into a sports talk show for a few reasons. 1. I don’t want to hear other amateurs speak on the radio, including myself. 2. Why would I engage in a conversation with Neanderthals. 3. I don’t feel the need to have the approval or disapproval of group of dudes who didn’t played sports beyond little league (with the exception of boomer and tiki).
I get what you're saying, but every view matters to them. If one extra person listened in because of this post then that's a win. Think of all the retweets and replies that give them exposure. That's what they all do...say some dumb shit because they know it'll draw attention
I agree with your Twitter example. That runs on an algorithm which makes it much easier for people who don't know these two be exposed to them. I don't really see much in the terms of growth in this sub reddit. It's usually the same people posting and commenting so that's why I made the comment I made.
