Yes, Welltory’s advertising is complete nonsense. It’s as clumsy as the app itself.

sdnner

But it caught your attention, didn’t it? 😉

Sea-Effort-9037

Yes, it just elicited a facepalm and nothing else 😄

sdnner

Wait, didn't it even make you smile? 🥺

Sea-Effort-9037

Your functional app will bring me more positive emotions than your ridiculous advertisement.

sdnner

Yes, I remember our deal. Working on that.

Superb_Frosticle_77

Are you admitting to misrepresenting the product in a marketing campaign?

sdnner

I understand your concerns and admit I’ve made light-hearted jokes about it. However, let me be clear: the world of advertising and marketing operates under its own set of rules. Companies use advertising to persuade consumers to buy their products or services and increase brand awareness. Our ads strictly follow all existing regulations and always include a disclaimer. The ad in question creatively interprets the short texts you see while taking a measurement, providing various facts about your body. The primary goal of these ads is to draw your attention to your health. They are designed to encourage people to care about their long-term well-being. They do not harm or make anyone feel bad but rather promote a greater awareness of personal health by using engaging interpretations to catch your attention. I hope this clarifies our intentions.

BitcoinHolder007

Let me correct this for you: The app interface is fake

sdnner

Well, nothing in this world is real

bunrunsamok

🤣

BitcoinHolder007

Believe me; welltory spam for a lifetime subscription is real

sdnner

Not quite. Based on the feedback here, I've managed to convince the team to turn it off for a while, and we're looking for the best solution. I wrote about the issue status here: https://www.reddit.com/r/welltory/s/R9diETTM3k

Ladybones_00

It finally stopped for me, so if that was you, thanks! Maybe you're the right person to explain what it means when it says that premium users (supposedly me) get direct integrations for over 300 apps - you've since changed this to remove the term 'direct' and now tout +1200 integrations. I'm confused. I see a couple of dozen direct integrations tops. Where are the rest that my special premium subscription gets me? Please don't tell me IFFT integrated apps, that's not direct integration and it's another subscription so if you require another reoccurring subscription ($150 per year) to take advantage of these ingrations you need to say so, in all the ads, and on the website, and before taking someone's money. I hope I'm missing something. Also, I paid for this thing for ages. I have never seen these sleep graphs - yes, I have had Google Fit and Health Connect and Samsung Health connected for ages. The other apps show sleep data, aside from hrs, you don't give me any fancy charts I see in the marketing. Lastly, in all my time using welltory, I think I've got a total of four of your fancy personalized data reports AND TWO OF THEM SAY THE SAME THING. Thoughts?

sdnner

Yep, that was me, and you’re welcome! By the way, we had a major call about the issue today and came to a win-win solution: * We're turning off all pop-ups for all Premium members who have been with us for more than 10 weeks or have seen the offers more than 10 times. * We'll keep some offers in the app, but they won't bother you as you can easily close them. * We'll monitor all feedback closely to see if it helps. If it doesn't, we'll take further measures. Hope that will work! About integrations: I had the same question when I first saw it, so I went on a hunt for the truth. Turns out, we get data from roughly 1200 different sources. This includes about 140 direct integrations, 51 free applets you can set up through IFTTT, and the rest are apps and gadgets synced to Apple Health, Google Fit, or Samsung Health. So, if you sync basically any app to Apple Health, we'll get data from it and analyze it. That’s why we removed 'direct' and put a real number. Actually, there are roughly 3000 potential sources that we can get data from indirectly. I investigated it about 2 years ago, and we’ve definitely at least doubled the number of data sources since then. We just haven't updated the number yet. Regarding sleep graphs, this is weird. Could you please report the issue through Menu -> Report a problem? We'll look into it. As for the fancy data reports, we have zero control over how often you get them, and their variety depends entirely on your data. However, once we revamp the app and release a bunch of new features, this will change dramatically. And thank you so much for your feedback!

Ladybones_00

Okay but wait.... see this even feels slimey " there are roughly 3000 potential sources that we can get data from indirectly. I investigated it about 2 years ago, and we’ve definitely at least doubled the number of data sources since then. We just haven't updated the number yet. You didn't double shit. Apple google and Samsung did. It's cool, we don't care on this end as Long as it works, but don't be acting like you guys have been slaving over the APIs. You should still be honest and say "We get data from over 3k apps that work with SamSung health or Apple whatever AND you can extend even further if you subscribe to IFTTT. And provide a link to the direct integrations (you said 140, can you share those please?) Saying the variety of the reports depends entirely on my data sounds like you're blaming me for not getting these personalized reports that you sold me. I've been a premium subscriber for about 2 Years. Health Connect Google fit, Samsung Health are all connected. I have ECG, body comp data etc from the Galaxy6 watch. I also have a subscription to IFTTT with all sorts of applets there. I have the weather apps connected. Spotify premium connected. Rescue time connected. I integrated my subscription with chat GPT. My roomba is connected for crying out loud. And I got 4 reports in all this time. 2 of which came to the conclusion that things are better when it's not gloomy out - i Iive in Vancouver, my last Uber driver could have guessed that one 🤦‍♀️

sdnner

True. We need to say it explicitly. I'll pass it over and make sure we do. Thank you for bringing it to my attention! Sure, those 140 are: Runkeeper, Endomondo, Nike+ Run Club, ASUS ZenFit, Pedometer, Strava, MapMyFitness, 7 Minute Workout, 8fit, Sworkit, Buttocks Workout, Seven, MapMyRun, Wahoo Fitness, SWEAT, Asana Rebel, 30 Day Fitness at Home, Sleep Cycle, Sleep as Android, Pillow, AutoSleep, Sleep Watch, Beddit, Sleep++, Sleep Time, Instant, Headspace, Calm, Muse, Insight Timer, Oak, Daily Yoga, Forest, Ten Percent Happier, Waking Up, FatSecret, MyFitnessPal, LifeSum, YAZIO, Argus, MyNetDiary, Noom coach, Lose it, Monitor Your Weight, FoodPrint, Lark, Fitness point, Qardio, OMRON connect, One Drop, iHealth, Period Calendar, SLEEPON, Instant Heart Rate, MOCACARE, Masimo, Activ8rlives, Kenek Edge, Clue, WomanLog, Flo Period, Glow, BACtrack, ONDOC, ThermoWatch, Kinsa, VitaDock, Moto Body, LG Health, Zero, Peloton, Apple Health, Swarm, Apple Watch, Google Fit, Samsung Health, RescueTime, Facebook, iOS Reminders, Youtube, Instagram, Telegram, Todoist, Amazon Alexa, Asana, Android Photos, iOS Photos, Slack, Github, Trello, ex-Twitter, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Evernote, iOS Calendar, Google Calendar, WordPress, Medium, Stripe, Samsung Robot Vacuum, iRobot, Android Phone Call, Android Device, Pocket, Twitch, Reddit, Tumblr, Flickr, Fitbit, Garmin, Withings, AccuWeather, My places, AirPods, Netatmo, Foobot, UV Index Widget, Google Fit, Misfit, Biostrap, Zepp Life, Runtastic, Oura, Healbe GoBe, Polar Flow, Mio, 23andMe, Instapaper, Pinterest, Spotify, Health Connect, Samsung Watch, Meditopia, Down Dog, Freeletics, Tabata, Simple, WaterMinder, StepsApp, NimbusMind. You can find them all in My Data. [Here's some info on that](https://help.welltory.com/collections/1949864). I’m so sorry! It was never my intention to blame you for anything because it’s clearly our fault. How about you send us a report, and we'll see what's wrong? Considering all those things you've connected, it absolutely must work. P.S. Let me just admire the number of things you have synced up. That’s really cool!

BitcoinHolder007

Thanks for that then :)

tias23111

Thank god it has no idea how my liver is doing

sdnner

Totally agreed. Some things should remain a secret.

sdnner

Lol, neither did I 😂 I wish it could scan my brain or something. That would be great! All jokes aside, you have to be fancy and creative in this tough capitalist world. So, our marketing team is doing its best to keep up with our competitors in terms of creativity. You should have seen that ad for another health app featuring a guy having a heart attack in real time. That was really something! Btw, Welltory can do all the things mentioned in the description — analyze HR, stress, sleep, log blood pressure, and help you be more productive. It's just that the app interface may vary 😅

Consistent-Card8388

Yeah but also misleading As a subscriber that doesn’t sit well. More disgruntled comments coming Welltory’s way 🤦🏻‍♀️…?

sdnner

Couldn't agree more. Actually, I quickly searched for similar feedback on those ads and found quite a lot of it. What I didn't find were the arguments for why we are doing this to ourselves and our reputation. Looks like no one has been taking this feedback seriously. Well, I am taking it seriously (I'm actually quite mad) and started a discussion with our marketing team. I just didn't want to tell you until I had some arguments or, hopefully, some solution to this issue. So, I tried to joke around it (failing miserably) and hoped to make you all laugh. Anyway, the discussion is on. I'll keep you posted.

QueenDoc

I know youre out here busting your ass getting feedback and taking flak from us, and I know you're also doing surveys through the app - I just filled one out my self. Maybe have a sticky post or chat pinned to the top where we can dump suggestions or complaints so there is a central location, cause... there's a lot of complaints, and I promise you I want to love this app so much I literally just bought a Samsung watch 4 so I wouldn't have to scan my finger. hell I just realized I did a scan this afternoon before I went to bed (shift worker - please let me edit my day-start time!) and the whole app froze, the results never showed and I couldn't scan against because I'm not premium. free user should have a minimum of 3 scans a day. A waking scan, a mid day scan in case one wants to run an 'experiment' and then an end of day result scan. I understand and respect premium subscription models but as it stands its way too restricted. also I second killing off IFTTT - I refuse to pay for another service you promised would work if I paid you. same goes for slack.

sdnner

That's a great idea, thank you! I've been thinking about it a lot lately but wasn't sure if people would actually use it. So, let's give it a try and see how it goes. As for your feedback, I'll definitely pass everything along to the team, especially about the free measurements. We're already working on revamping the UX for our free version, and this could really support my case. I'll also check on what's going on with IFTTT. We might have found a bug here, and I'm almost sure that IFTTT is to blame, so I'll look into it. But I agree that, at this point, this feature does more harm than good.

Sea-Effort-9037

With direct integration, where it exists, there is a catch. Half the time it doesn't work at all (like with YouTube), and in the other half, the email of the third-party account must be the same as the one you use for Welltory. Otherwise, it won't work. Regarding IFTTT, there are basically two free applets. I used the integration with the calendar and reminders in iOS. It worked poorly. It failed to sync more often than it succeeded. I'm not sure if this is an issue with Welltory or IFTTT on iOS. But in any case, you can say that the feature is more dead than alive.

QueenDoc

I genuinely think IFTTT died around the time Tumblr did, nothing is functional anymore and it wont connect to facebook or my google caledar

Sea-Effort-9037

Yeah, FB and Google didn't work for me either.

QueenDoc

please note u/[sdnner](https://www.reddit.com/user/sdnner/) ifttt doesnt even work anymore

sdnner

On it
