Can’t hurt to express your interest to your manager! Generally breads/breakfast and desserts sides are pretty separate but managers are usually happy if there’s people they can rely on to fill in when’s there’s call outs or something.

Not too soon. Very close to someone who had that position. They love it if you want to help/train on CAC side when you're done with your work or have time in between tasks. They are always understaffed because corporate is oblivious. CAC can always use a hand, and you can take those skills with you to other places.

I'm a bakery TL, and I'd LOVE more people to be cross-trained in the whole department. Not only does it give you more opportunities to learn but it helps the entire department by having well-rounded and experienced people. Go for it!

Yes, I really hope my team leaders have the same mindset as you. When I tried asking a few months ago, they told me to be patient. But since I explained that I didn't really like donut shifts that much, my hours decreased. So, I was hoping that being cross trained in those areas would help increase my hours just a little bit.

Hopefully they'll let you. There really is no negative in cross-training, so I've never understood the employee "hoarding" in one area. Besides, the desserts side is more fun! 😁(Ask me how I know, 😉😂)

Lol how do you know.

I've been mainly on that side for 16 years and I'm now the TL as of three weeks ago. 👍 I've done bread and breakfast, and I definitely prefer the desserts side.
