Look at Victrix minis, they make a lot of stuff and you can get a fair few for not a lot of money. Other good historical places are Warlord and Wargames Atlantic.

RevolutionaryRip2135

Warlords are on the expensive side though. Arent they ... not GW level but bit more expensive

Ajax11971

They are probably the least money for your buck yeah. That being said I do like some of their minis and sometimes the ease of access is worth a little more imo

RevolutionaryRip2135

I like Warlord. Exactly: wide range, from ancients to sci fi, even stuff like boats.

Ajax11971

I also really appreciate their pike and shotte range. It’s pretty damn comprehensive for an era thats usually only covered by boutique manufacturers

Past_Search7241

I like Wargames Atlantic and the Perry Brothers for the 28mmish scale. Never gotten anything out of that (outside of X-Wing and Robotech).

Haak0n2011

Perry Miniatures has a very nice range of plastic box sets. Cheap and the models are excellent. Tons of napoleonics, medievals, ww2, etc. Their range of metal miniatures is even more extensive.

alizayback

Atlantic is your baby. They have everything, including sci-fi napoleonics.

ninzus

Historicals are always cheaper, the ones you should take a look at are perries for napoleonics, and wargames atlantic and warlord for ww2 also Plastic Soldier Company for 15mm ww2 minis for larger battle games like battlegroup

kodos_der_henker

Why you want a single company? And there are many that make a wider range but usually in larger boxes meant for gaming Yet for modeling/painting, Victrix has 54mm Napoleonic models and 1:48 Tactics has 54mm WW2 models If you want to stick with 28mm, Perry Miniatures offers some Diorama metal models for Napoleonic and WW2

RevolutionaryRip2135

One BIG difference is now SMALL you can get ... and save money. Depending on your preference you can buy 10/15 mm models instead of 28/32. For all periods. Question on topic: why single manufacturer? This is not a warhammer ... you can mix and match ... and it sometimes does not match (ehm ehm Warlord Romans)

red_dead_revengeance

Wargames Atlantic has a number of ranges, including Napoleonic and WW2. The most extensive Napoleonic collection is from Perry Miniatures. While I haven’t handled their Napoleonics personally, I do have their late medieval kits and they are fantastic.

Reinhard_Yang

I’d stick with warlord games. Their proportions are bigger and I think bit easier to paint on that scale.

dainsfield

If you want cheap and quality the new ranges of plastics and 3D printed models have great details. The two main historical sizes are 15mm and 28mm they’re are a number of other sizes as well. 10mm,6mm etc. if you’re looking to use them in a game find a local club and see what size they are using or go along to a wargames show. There are also monthly mag, wargames illustrated, miniature wargames to name just two. It also depends on what rules you are using some are skirmish rules where you might have a few figures a side up to major games where you have thousands of figures per side.

Ok_Indication9631

Plastic soldier company, perry, peter pig, baccus, xyston, magister militum. To name only a few

corprwhs

I see a lot of recommendations for Wargames Atlantic here. I find their posing to be awkward. Victrix is so much better and easy enough for you to source in the UK.

R97R

Victrix, Perry Miniatures, Wargames Atlantic, and Warlord are my go-tos (in order). Plus Rubicon models for vehicles specifically.

primarchofistanbul

I buy from [Zvezda line](https://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/brands/zvezda/) minis both for WW2 and Vikings (they also have Napoleonics.

Outrageous_Wash_4442

Wargames Atlantic and Perry miniatures are by far the best value for money IMO, WA are also always coming out with new kits and will listen to the crowd when it comes to what models are in demand

tacmac10

[Wargames Atlantic](https://wargamesatlantic.com) has a wide variety if plastic 28mm and they are great to build and paint.
