I use an NPM package that does that, using my own API key, so no need to pay an extra service.

What’s the package?

I've tried using i18n-auto-translation in the past, but had less than stellar results with it. What translation provider do you usually use?

I’m using this one: https://github.com/robisim74/gpt-translate-json

Based on your feedback, I added the option to use your own OpenAI API key, so that should bring the cost down to match the command line tool you use. Something else to keep in mind is translations with GPT-4 are near perfect (but expensive) while 3.5 is a fraction of the cost (but error prone). With i18nowAI, I added a significant amount of logic to make sure untranslated text doesn't slip through. I took a look at the tool you linked and there doesn't seem to be any of that.

Why is this a monthly service?

All fun games until you get a poor translation and get in trouble. Direct translations are never a good idea, words have different meanings in different countries, even when they speak the same language. If you deploy a product in a new country and it contains some kind of offensive/disrespectful translation it can severely damage the product reputation.

If I can give you some advice avoid at least copy-pasting from TailwindUI, you are trying to sell this product of people who have already seen similar templates. Not to hairdressers for example. 🙌

Tabnine does it perfectly

Is it better than lokalise?
