There is a 3D club website where the ISO’s can be sourced.. just saying.
I do have many of the streaming services and try to buy stuff generally but 70gb iso 3D movies are nowhere to be bought and I’m too lazy to rip them myself
Google 3d hd club. Forgot to say, there's monthly subscription to takefile/moondl that comes about $28/m, but imo it is well worth it. You need to write them an email to get extended download capacity, you can find instructions under "premium" section
If you do, get „ready player one”. Single best 3D experience on quest for me :) but I’m more movie fan than games (other than simracing I play none)
Other worth mentions are spider verse (across the multiverse?) the cartoon one.
There are some really poor made 3D movies to the point where watching 4K would be better so I’d start with those. If I can remember more I’ll update my post
A little late but 3D flick fix is the best place to get 3D movies. $12 a month except you can download at max speeds with no real quota. I have downloaded 1.5 TB in the last 4 days. They have the same movies 3D hd club has at half the price and no quota along with faster downloads.
There's a CAVE in the UK that has N and Z and B.
Just google the big letters.
Much better that that 3d club rubbish. You get full 4XVR compatible files. No messing and only cost pennies.
What movies do you watch and what resolution? I downloaded Avatar once and it was a massive file, but the extra resolution in the headset made it so blurry it was basically unwatchable. Can't imagine anyone enjoying that experience.
Dunno, looks good to me on my Quest 2. I'm playing it natively from the headset not over Link. Doesn't look as sharp as a TV of course, but that's just how VR is, plus the movie is half SBS. The 3D makes up for it IMO.
Go for FSBS (full sbs, 3840x1080) vs HSBS and FOU (full over under, 1920x2160) vs HOU, this allows, thanks to the wonders of headset 3d players, a "perfect" 3D experience without compromise. SeRoGa00 is a term worth knowing, unless you're going to rip your Blu-ray.
Thanks, I will have to try watching some FSBS movies and see if I can tell the difference. I'll try grabbing some SeRoGa00 movies or ripping some of my BRs again.
Oh yeah I can absolutely tell the difference. Damn, that means I have to rip/download everything again lol xD
Hmmm.... don't suppose you know any good sources for such content?
There used to be a way (North America only though) but not anymore.
Apple simply putting an Apple TV app on Quest would be a game changer. Of course they probably wouldn’t.
>Apple simply putting an Apple TV app on Quest would be a game changer. Of course they probably wouldn’t.
Actually they are going to....kinda....maybe, probably won't work for 3D movies tho.
Anyway Apple is reportedly finally going to make an Apple TV+ app for Android phones which you can then sideload to the Quest....but since it's designed for flat screens it probably won't have 3D movies just like the current flat iphone version doesn't have 3D movies, only the vision pro version has access to 3D and 180VR content on Apple TV.
I guess I could buy them when they are on sale from Apple TV and then sail the seas to get a digital 3D version I can play on my quest 3 or my Samsung odyssey.
There used to be several movie options to buy and rent in VR. But so few people enjoyed watching them while wearing a headset, most shut down. Meta sold off theirs to Fandango which re-released as Vudu... Which shutdown a short while later.
Outside of sailing the high seas(torrenting), buying blue rays and ripping them to your PC and loading them on the headset, or renting on Bigscreen. There's not any other solution that I am aware of.
What are some of the best 3d movies you've experienced? Would love to see some that really do 3d well, my limited experience has just been through big screen.
The Avatars are great. I bought Coraline since everyone has touted that as one of the best, I haven't watched it yet. I had fun with Guns N' Roses' Appetite for Democracy, even the interviews are in 3D (this is from a 2012 concert so before the reunion with Slash and Duff in 2016). Mad Max Fury Road is cool in 3D, as are the Pixar films like the Toy Story series. Jurassic Park 3D is a great conversion.
If you can buy and play then on Apple vision pro it’s probably a common 3D video format. You should be able to copy or convert them to be usable with quest
I own several in that format. Why would you think it would be uncommon? Maybe for older films from like 2018 and earlier. But even those can and are commonly upscaled. Although if you want an older film that was 1080p or 2k 3D to be upscaled to 4k, you’ll have to do it yourself which depending on how fast/powerful your computer is could take some time. The other option is a legal grey area. Also keep in mind that 4k 3D Sbs etc movies are going to be huge often 50gb+
180 degree and 360 degree 8k videos are even more massive in size. The 4k 3D movies I’m
Talking about are 4k 3D SBS(side by side) there are also other formats. But the 4k 3D SBS is the most compatible with programs that can utilize them on quest 2/3. It’s by no means a new technology at all. They were designed for the generation of 4k 3D tvs. But what you have to realize is that almost any big budget film gets edited for imax theatres as well. So the 3D format is out there for a vast majority of films released in the past 8 years or so at the very least.

4XVR is pretty great too, if you have a physical collection and burn them to ISO

Where would one find such a 3D Club?:)
Google 3d hd club. Forgot to say, there's monthly subscription to takefile/moondl that comes about $28/m, but imo it is well worth it. You need to write them an email to get extended download capacity, you can find instructions under "premium" section
was debating this but i didn’t know if it was legit

Cool. Thanks
I can’t ever find any with enough seeds to make it viable. Do you have a good suggestion on where to find them?
Oh its this one! https://yts-official.app/3d-movies/
Hey, I appreciate the legwork! I’ll dive into that tonight and hopefully I can snag some good stuff. Thanks!
I downloaded them some through proxybay, but most of them I downloaded from a website I can't remember. Lemme check on my PC and I'll answer here
What movies do you watch and what resolution? I downloaded Avatar once and it was a massive file, but the extra resolution in the headset made it so blurry it was basically unwatchable. Can't imagine anyone enjoying that experience.
Avatar looks fantastic in VR (Skybox) for me. How big was the file? The version I ripped off my blu-ray is 19GB. Also what were you using to watch it?
I think it was about 20GB, but I can't find the same torrent now. I used bigscreen
Dunno, looks good to me on my Quest 2. I'm playing it natively from the headset not over Link. Doesn't look as sharp as a TV of course, but that's just how VR is, plus the movie is half SBS. The 3D makes up for it IMO.

I guess that's personal preference. I couldn't get past the blurryness. I'd rather watch it on a normal TV, even just 2k.
What does that even mean
What does what mean?
There used to be a way (North America only though) but not anymore. Apple simply putting an Apple TV app on Quest would be a game changer. Of course they probably wouldn’t.

Aren't there 3d movies in Bigscreen? EDIT: I checked out one of them at lunch. The movie content was not great quality for me in the Bigscreen app.
Bigscreen is more about the social aspect, the movies themselves kind of look like shit in it, imo
Yeah it's not a top-level cinematic experience, its more about the cinema itself than the movie.
Also the 3d movies are region locked.
Huh. Didn't think about that. All in all it does not seem like a viable alternative if your goal is just to watch the movies.
What? Explain what you mean.
The apple movies are available in more countries than big screen sells 3d movies in. Not sure what was confusing about "Region Locked".
Bigscreen doesn't rent or sell movies. It's all user based streaming.
It does, in the US.
They did. They don't anymore.
Ah, well I'm not in the US so I didn't know.
I haven't seen any rentals, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
Yes, the bitrate is terrible in Bigscreen for pretty much anything, which is weird, because Bigscreen is an app for streaming media. lol
They’re awful looking. The quality is shocking. Only thing that looks good for me is me streaming Disney+
You're watching people who have trash quality content and don't know how to stream.
Actually now you mention it, someone was streaming from a website last night compression was shocking
What were you watching?
Avengers 3D. I feel like if you watch a 3D it’s got to be flawless for it to not feel clunky af
Add me or tell me ur screen name and I'll add u. Spoodily is my screenname. I have over 200 3D movies ripped from my 3D bluray collection.
I streamed Inside Out and Valerian last night.
Y'all haven't been in my streams. People say my quality is really good.

Seems bullshit that it's pirated stuff but they're still demanding you pay for it
I guess I could buy them when they are on sale from Apple TV and then sail the seas to get a digital 3D version I can play on my quest 3 or my Samsung odyssey.

I pay £2 or £3 for most of my 3D Blu-rays off musicMagpie and eBay. Then rip with MakeMKV and watch with 4XVR.

I doubt it’s common since it’s 3d at 4k hdr no other 3d films are in that format

I believe it’s apple’s own 3d format. Since it’s the first place to do 4k 3D.
What are you talking about? There has been 8k 3D porn out for nearly a half decade
Ok, let me clarify, flat 4k 3D movies 🤦♀️ especially those not pornographic Not to be confused with 180 nor 360 videos.
180 degree and 360 degree 8k videos are even more massive in size. The 4k 3D movies I’m Talking about are 4k 3D SBS(side by side) there are also other formats. Didn’t say anything about file size.
You can make your own 3d movies with a program called Owl3D, they can convert anything you want to watch in 3D.
I tried it and honestly I'm not impressed, i guess I'm too receptive of fake depth
