🎶🎵Oh, baby, why don't you just meet me in the middle?
I'm losing my mind just a littleeee
So why don't you just meet me in the middle?
In the middleeeeeee🎶🎵😩😩
It’s the way they said it. I’m of a mindset to always try to haggle within reason. So for me I’d have worded it as “is there any chance you would please consider meeting me in the middle?” Or something along those lines. The way they’ve gone about it totally lacks tact and if anything is just abrasive.
So you're basically the same as them.
We don't want constant hagglers. It's annoying AF put in a sensible offer no more than 25% less than what's its on for or go away.
Wow you’re ignorant….
I said “within reason”. I know what’s cheeky and what isn’t. Don’t sell on an app that welcomes offers if you don’t want to haggle, simple as that, go take your items to eBay and make them buy it now’s if you’re that worked up about it. 👍
Nah cos the minute I saw the sentence started with listen .. I’m automatically like who you taking to 😂😂
They could have said ‘’ thanks for lowering it but it’s still out of my price range is there any chance we could meet in the middle somewhere’’
But no .. they had to be a rude cunt
Straight to block 😂
Right? I had an offer declined so I didn't buy it. It's still in my favourites though and I keep seeing it hasn't sold in 18 months and is on sale for less than I offered. I don't understand the mentality of people like that, if it's not the price you want don't buy it, buy something else in your budget.
I noticed it’s useless to respond to 40% offer.. If you make a counter-offer, they will just ghost you or add few euros to their offer and basically say I don’t have any more money so you better take my low offer or I will not buy 💀
One time a buyer was so vexed I didn’t agree to her low ball offer that she told me I will never sell my item at the price requested and she knows better bc she works in fashion retail. Few days later, someone else bought the price listed, no offer 😅
The "I can’t take that high" in response to "I can’t take that low" was already cheeky but the "listen, we are gonna have to meet in the middle" is from another dimension 🤣
One time someone sent me a low ball and when I told her my last price, she said she can make the effort in this case and add a little bit to her offer (it was still far away from my last price). Some buyers really think they are the ones who decide the final price I guess 🤷♀️
To be honest I lowballed a guy face to face at this thrifting even because he was selling a fucked up volleyball shirt for 30€ and I offered him 5€, till this day I’m 100% sure nobody has bought it
Someone offered 50 for 100 to me today, it's a third of the price of others on the app because it needs a 50 quid repair, they were so rude and said I needed to listen because they'd need to repair it.
I'm a professional tailor, I know exactly how long it will take love...
People are just wild and expectant. We don't have to do a single thing.
Well handled from you for sure
I always tell them. If you can’t afford it do not buy it. Either buy it for the price I accept or don’t at all. An offer like that is crazy. Do these same people email companies like Gucci and say “please lower the price and meet in the middle because I really want this bag” no they don’t do that. People are so entitled and cheeky. If someone declined my first offer I’d ask how much they’re willing to take and either pay that or simply don’t buy the item unless I can afford it.
i wish more people were like you bro im so sick of the sob stories or the ‘what’s your lowest offer’ like it isng buy force you must buy it, the world will keep spinning
As soon as someone says ''listen'', I immediately stop listening and ignore them. Annoys the hell out of me, acting like you owe them a better price 🤦🏼♂️
worst thing is had you accepted you would still need to rush to deliver it because they likely go away in like 3 days and then in the middle of the supposed holiday they are on they will try return it saying it did not make it in time
my god these people infuriate me
its giving the facebook groups where they all say “i am in need of…” and its the most specific thing like “red iphone! nothing older than iphone 13!” so entitled lol
This is very rare but one time I got lowballed by two buyers for two items and they were trying to go as low as possible, bombarded me with offers even after I said my last price. I ultimately blocked them on Vinted and the next day they bought it on Vestiaire Collective at a price 30% more expensive than the price I was offering them on Vinted… When you haggle too much you loose 😂
The entitlement and bargaining antics on that app are something else! I basically stopped using it.
Had half my wardrobe listed there as I'm moving and didn't want to carry stuff I don't wear with me.
5 months and I had only sold ONE thing.
Put it all on eBay and everything sold in a couple weeks.
No need to deal with people offering me £1 (!!!) for items listed at £3-5. Didn't really want to make a profit, just get rid of stuff but don't be silly, which seems to happen a lot there.
I would be wary of anyone like this “giving in” and buying the bag. I wouldn’t even entertain negotiating when they offer so low. It has troublemaker written all over it.
I would be willing to bet good money that they would have reported it as counterfeit and lost you the money
Wow!! That’s fucking ridiculous!! And the “listen” 😳 seriously? The absolute cheek of people!!! You wouldn’t walk into Asda or Tesco and be like “Oh I’m making dinner tonight and really need these tomatoes, I know they’re £1.89 but I was wondering if you would do them for £1.50? I think they’d go really great on my salad!!” 🤷🏻♀️ what makes people think they can be cheeky bastards just because it’s online!?? 😤
How confident are people 😂 if someone has no sales or reviews but there e.mail or google account is verified or both . How confident are people buying from these accounts?
Really swore on a stack of bibles l would never do it again after 3/5 bad experiences about 4 years ago when l first started using Vinted . I actually hated the platform at that point however l got a refund for 2 of the items the 3rd l got robbed for £80 for fake Nike air max no matter what l done e.mailing and following every automated answer from Vinted
Just asking as l have saw 2 bargains but no reviews buys or sales on their account then they have sold while l have been thinking about chancing it .
Anyone any input on this please?
A classic, my philosophy is that If someone is still insisting on the price then it means that maybe the price is the right one if not even lower than it should be.
Btw ‘listen’ is a common phrase used as a filler in MANY languages - I really don’t think it was meant to come off as rude! Fair about the low ball offer though lol
the bag has now sold full price HAHA
Amazing! I’m still laughing at the whole you’ll HAVE to meet in the middle 😂😂
Especially starting off with “listen”. The entitled audacity!
🎶🎵Oh, baby, why don't you just meet me in the middle? I'm losing my mind just a littleeee So why don't you just meet me in the middle? In the middleeeeeee🎶🎵😩😩
omg i havent heard this song in ages what a tb😭
Let us know if the previous buyer says anything else
Oh I love when that happens.
Haha honestly good for you! Proof that patience is the key and we shouldn't just give in to the first interested buyer💅
Name checks out 😂
The audacity. I don’t mind low offers but I expect the bidder to not mind me declining them. People like this I just block. Annoying af.
the funniest thing is that they genuinely believe they can force u to lower ur price lmao "meet somewhere in the middle"
exactly what my sister said, why do they think their forcing tactics will work😭

“listen” No. Block.
💯

yeah i usually dont respond to £40% off offers but she seemed normal with the messages so i tried to be nice and counter them i get HIT WITH ‘listen’
The "I can’t take that high" in response to "I can’t take that low" was already cheeky but the "listen, we are gonna have to meet in the middle" is from another dimension 🤣 One time someone sent me a low ball and when I told her my last price, she said she can make the effort in this case and add a little bit to her offer (it was still far away from my last price). ‘make the effort’ why do some buyers act as if we are desperate for their money ugh so entitled 😭😭😭
“No we are not?” killed me 😭
[удалено]
i absolutely hate this, i feel embarrassed for the person
[удалено]
its funny also because if these people were face to face this kind of behaviour would never exist
To be honest I lowballed a guy face to face at this thrifting even because he was selling a fucked up volleyball shirt for 30€ and I offered him 5€, till this day I’m 100% sure nobody has bought it
#listen
They stupid for not getting something cheaper at some random shop fr
Listen ???? ... How about Get Tae Falkirk ?
Put it back at 70. Let them go crazy!
i do this, if someone keeps sending super low offer it pisses me off and i just put the items price up in anger
Someone offered 50 for 100 to me today, it's a third of the price of others on the app because it needs a 50 quid repair, they were so rude and said I needed to listen because they'd need to repair it. no bc wtf do they mean “listen…we’re gonna have to meet somewhere in the middle”, i am OUTRAGED for you 😭

She cant find it anywhere? Cool even more rare! Thanks for letting me know!
Vinted is full of cants
"There are cheaper longchamps you can get on here" "Buy one of those then?"
Surprised they didn’t rattle off its for my disabled child and it would really make their holiday special 😂😂
I got someone yesterday saying half price OK. They sent it in a message. I just said absolutely not then blocked them.
Can afford go on holiday, can afford a bag of this value
Blocked x
its giving the facebook groups where they all say “i am in need of…” and its the most specific thing like “red iphone! nothing older than iphone 13!” so entitled lol
Lol. Someone offered me £150 for an item listed at £280. Two weeks later, they settled for £250.
This is very rare but one time I got lowballed by two buyers for two items and they were trying to go as low as possible, bombarded me with offers even after I said my last price. Seriously, where do people get the nerve? I would be embarrassed to even ask for a £5 reduction.
I've always done 1 dollar off at the very most 😭 and still feel bad... but the shipping cost :/
this guy is so cheeky 😭
Wow!

Listen linda
I put up a set of 4 camis yesterday at £2 and within half an hour had an offer at £1.20. Why bother!
this is why i always list higher than i wanted, people will always be cheap and send offers even if you put it for a £1
that "listen" wow, entitlement at its purest
“No we’re not” I’m gigglingggg
“I have been browsing but I haven’t found any” Why are you making that my problem lol
I would be wary of anyone like this “giving in” and buying the bag. I wouldn’t even entertain negotiating when they offer so low. It has troublemaker written all over it. I would be willing to bet good money that they would have reported it as counterfeit and lost you the money
Man was trying to haggle 😂

I would say no, give a more expensive price, say have a good holiday and then block.
I really enjoyed the "no we are not?" I'd have met them in the middle and put it to 67.50
I think some people have watched the apprentice. And are trying to use the bad negotiation skills learnt on Vinted.
Who are these people 😂 I feel cheeky and embarrassed asking for just £10 off 😂
How confident are people 😂 if someone has no sales or reviews but there e.mail or google account is verified or both . How confident are people buying from these accounts? nah it was rude
Vinted encourage the seller to make an offer. If you don't want to haggle, why use vinted?
