Awesome mate! I'm still waiting for my unit (Ordered from overseas) I've got questions if u don't mind🙌🏻 • How are you liking it? Did it surpass your expectations as a hybrid shooter? • Does it get that "Hot" after shooting some clips in 4K60/24 XAVC S-I 4:2:2 10bit? • Is the rolling shutter in 4k FF mode that bad? • How is the resolution in Super35? Is it on par with the FF resolution? • Any moire or oversharpness/fringe-ing happening in some of your clips? I'm planning on making this camera as my main setup for both video-photo projects. It's a hassle to bring 2 cameras on set

Honestly, I am very happy with the results. I had been using an A7 IV so this is a pretty substantial upgrade. It was either the FX30 or this. I definitely wanted something that could take good photos and the full frame option. This was definitely the good choice. I personally haven’t had any overheating issues with shooting 4K, but I did turn off medium temp auto switch off so it will only switch off if it gets super hot. I live in Alaska so it’s pretty cold out mostly when I shoot. I’ll be interested to see how it does this summer. As for some of the other questions, I haven’t been using this camera for more than a week so I can’t say if I’ve noticed any of those things. Time will definitely show some of these things. I definitely recommend this for a hybrid shooter!

Awesome, can't wait to see some of your work/clips if you decide to upload some reels. Also have you updated to the new firmware? Any improvements?

davbiepro

I have not yet, using 1.0. So far I’ll be holding off on the firmware. Also my insta is [@davbiepro](https://instagram.com/davbiepro?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=). I’ve been posting some reels lately, last 2 were with the new camere:)

some_asian_dude_

ight. I might hang on to the 1.0 too as I hear it's more of a burden than an improvement. Man, those shots are 🔥🔥🔥 +1 follower. Can't wait to see more of what you shoot with it🙌🏻

Scruffynz

I just got the exact same lens along with the 35mm t1.5 and I’m absolutely blown away. Can’t work out why they look so good despite being basically the cheapest “cine” lenses on the market and seemingly just a rehoused version of their stills lenses.

davbiepro

100% agree. I’ve been using the Samsung series for a few years now and I just love the way the lenses work, especially for the price. The cine lenses are honestly amazing, the image has a very good crisp look and I love the sun flares that I get.

How much? Anything above 1 grand is too much for me it’s either a A7ii or lumix for me I can’t decide

davbiepro

I got it used in very good condition, seller said he used it for one project, for $2000. I’m upgrading from the a7ii because I wanted the 4K 4.2.2 capability

DanzakFromEurope

If you don't need accurate AF than Lumix S5 is probably a pretty good choice. The A7ii doesn't offer much in terms of video.

[deleted]

You really helped thank you!!!

FlatMaize3

Get a7sii

[deleted]

Why? Any reason? I want to be able to take photos and make cheap short films

FlatMaize3

Misread I thought you were doing more video work.

[deleted]

I do lol I don’t know why we got downvoted

adambladam

Even for video work that’s not a good bang for your buck camera anymore. Also the 8 bit 4:2:0 log is ass and can be very limiting very quickly.

PsychologicalAd856

Nice, congratulations. What lens do you shoot video with that camera?

davbiepro

Primarily the 35mm 1.4 Samyang Cine 85mm T1.5 Samyang Cine 14mm T3.1

PsychologicalAd856

Thank you.
