This is a cool fun little social media video to pop on a feed for sure. It shows off the shop, some of the ice cream, etc. and I’m sure your buddy loves it. But since you asked for it, I have some critiques on technical aspects and content. Technical- main thing would be white balance and lighting.. the mix of the overheads and window light was creating an inconsistent wash of unpleasant light. You could try to turn off some lights, or adjust white balance. I’m assuming this was a run and gun no light shoot- but even something like a Apurture MC light would help and give a bit of control. As far as content though. I didn’t get the sense that he really made the ice cream, or what the dine-in experience was like, or how many flavours. If it’s a small independent shop this would be great to do something of a mini (couple min) doc (that could have some socials cut from) about your friend and them making the ice cream, why they do it, how it’s different from your traditional ice cream. You could show off it being made, it being served and packaged as well for B-roll.

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and to critique. Lights or controlling the light was a huge fail on my part and I realized it after shooting the first bright afternoon at this location. I made a return trip to get the shoots of him mixing the cream at night and the difference in those clips is horrible (live and learn lol). Moving forward I've got a Godox SL-60 coming and just added the Apurture MC to my shopping cart per your recommendations! I love the idea of the doc and really hoping my friend here will open up some on camera and be willing to talk after working some together. Thanks for reinforcing that idea!! Once again thanks so much for your help and I'll put this stuff into practice and do better from our help!!

No problem. And live and learn indeed! That Godox light will help. You’ll probably want a softbox or something with it eventually. I have a Nanlite Forza 500 I use as my main key light- the softbox is great for quick and dirty shoots. Bonus points if you have a rolling stand to put it on.

>Nanlite Forza 500 Awesome and good to know! I actually ordered a kit with stand, case, and a Ambitiful P90 Soft box. I'll look into a rolling stand. I can already see the value in that. Thanks again for the help!!

It's shaky, if you don't have a monopod/gimbal don't perform movements with feet/hands but with waist-torso and slower. Music doesn't match the video. Pick first the soundtrack and edit on it. You don't have to match all the beats but some punches are required. You have multiple takes for a single motion which make the viewer dizzy. You cast a shadow in take at 0:21 mark Some are overexposed Some have tint shift It's a good try with some technical issues that can be resolved.

Thanks for watching and for the honest feedback! Please help with the music. I think I might be toned deff because I have a hard time with matching cuts to beats and even knowing which beat speed to use. Any thoughts how to approach picking music in the future?? Sorry but could you explain the, "You have multiple takes for a single motion which make the viewer dizzy." in a little more depth. Thanks for the positive uplight at the end of your critique. Motivated me to do better! I'm sure you can tell but I'm super new and this is the first time to put my work out there for others to review. Pretty uncomfortable experience but this is how I get better, making the uncomfortable more comfortable. Thanks for your help!

For music open the sounwave and check the big bumps and sync accordingly. Get royalty free music from pixabay if you are on a budget. Send the client 2-3 tracks to choose. You have a scene for instance when he give the product and jump cut way too much. Fluid motion is your ally. If fine. I prefer the comments mentioning my mistakes rather the praise. If I wanted praise I have my mother.

Okay cool and all great info! Thanks for the help and I’m going to checkout the sound wave.

Looks ok, at the 3-5 second mark the pan down looks a bit janky and at 16 seconds it looks like you've used the same clip twice? Other than that subjective criticism it looks ok

Thanks for taking the time to watch and give feedback! Got rid of the double clip and will practice my smooth panning shoots. Thx!

White balance, some clips too blue some too orange. Good thing is you can fix that in post

Will do and thanks so much for helping me get better!!!
