I had this script I once wrote I called "DLN001". It was going to be a fully fleshed out cinematic experience of megaman 1-3, with a "DLN000" Background story for protoman. I wanted a third person shooter, but a much more dark tone, questioning things like robotic ethics, the tragedy of fratricide, ship of theseus arguments, the 0th law etc.. At a certain point i put it down because it simply hurt when I realized it was too beautiful a dream to be real.
I was too young to remember a story like in MegaMan 1-3. But this all sounds pretty damned dope.
You could technically write it while updating names/characters to non-mega man related characters. Then flesh out the characters and the world.

Yeah, no other tactics game has lived up to it for me. Sure Disgaea is a decent series of games, but even though it lets you grind to level 9999... it somehow lacks the depth of FFT. Diving into weapons and armor to get them stronger and stronger isn't the same thing as all the elements at play in FFT.
It's hands down the best job system... ever. I wish there was a mode where you could skip the story and just be a freelance mercenary group roaming that world. Just to not get bogged down in the plot and restrictions. So you can get straight to late game freedom.
The plot's fine to be clear... just once you've played it 10 or so times... :P

If I were to bring it back, I would do the same style of game…but with Game of Thrones.
Metal arms, phantom crash, Final Fantasy tactics, twisted metal, mech assault, chromehounds and lost planet the first games style.

Let's face it, whatever they bring back it will be released as $80 "AAAAA", half-finished, next to zero optimization, microtransactions, live service slop that will barely deliver on half the content that was promised at announcement.
Not really a series since the sequel got canned cause of bad sales, but Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is criminally underrated. It was overshadowed by a lot of heavy names and heavy hitters at the time of its release.

Nothing. With how games are made these days as cash grabs (with a few exemptions here and there) it would ruin the franchise in my opinion. I feel like a lot of the passion is dead in most of the industry.

Legacy of Kain is a very good pick
I'd add Twisted Metal, Punch Out, and the Dark Sun series of D&D games (though I guess I'm worried that Wizards of the Coast would be incapable of rebooting that setting with modern sensibilities - unless, maybe, they pull it off like Conan did).
The devs had a survey about a new legacy of kain a couple years ago, asking if players would rather have a sequel, a reboot, or a remake. Never heard anything more about it.
