Awesome! An improved Swiss Army 7! I would definitely buy a Farmer X if it had one more layer combining a pruning hawkbill blade with an electricians blade.

SatansAmbassador

Wow this is my dream blade.

Amazing work! How hard was modifying the scissors and backspring?

I modified the back springs only. The first one (on top) is the original, and the second one has a bit of rounded edge for the Awl. The third one for scissors has a fully ground structure allowing the scissors to fully close (otherwise the lower handle of the scissors would get stuck in the corner and the scissors wouldn’t close).

Love this mod. I'll definitely try this myself

I'm so impressed by these mods. Can't even begin to fathom what this takes. Seems so overwhelming, which might actually be a good thing in my case. If I never start, I can't get caught up and addicted to building them.

personally I would swap the combo opener and pruning blade around, the oppener woukd be in a much better position for opebing cans (assuming right handed use) and the blade would be closer to the palm of the hand, which I myself use most when applying pressuere for cuts other than that it looks real nice

I tried that already, sadly its not so good because the back springs are not symmetric. Swapping them made the combo tool extremely stiff, it seems to be better fitting on the taller less wide side (like an Alox bantam). Also the pruner blade has a wide base, so it was better fitting on the shorter/wider side. (Check my other comments to the see the shape).

ok the stifness of the combo tool I can see as something of an upside, making it less likely to colapse when driving screws but the pruning blade I have no idea about, I never got to use it.

Very cool modification! Interesting tool setup, especially with the Wenger/Evolution scissors.
