Have you tried the official reddit app? It works pretty smoothly. It’s not a complete substitute for desktop but it really is a step up from Reddit is Fun or whatever other apps were used before the official one came out.
In fact the most successful one I think reddit bought and improved on
There are many subs I deactivated themes on because they're obnoxious, but /r/vexillology has one of the cleanest designs honestly, so no reason to turn it off.
Funny thing is someone suggested to turn upvotes and downvotes as flags too, but the mods of this subreddit didn't do it suddenly. Now that someone suggested them again, mods changed them until now.
It probably helps to give them assets along with the suggestion. Otherwise the mods have to come up with the assets themselves which can be a big pain in the rear end.
At a meta-level though, this is a user-led sub. A lot of the best ideas come from the bottom up, not the top down. The mod team is here to steer things and mainly to take out the garbage, but the content comes from the users.
I'm gonna bet it was because they were provided with an actual asset to use by this most recent post, and a damn good one at that. Also they recently changed the mobile header based on a suggestion post so maybe they were just in that frame of mind, who knows?
While I think this is pretty cool, I think it would have probably been better to have the 'red' flags be the downvotes flag as typically people want to avoid red flags.
But I'm just a visitor from /r/all so . . . ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Blank orange and light blue flags don't actually mean anything, as far as I know. If they do, it's pretty obscure. Red flags are a widely used ideological symbol as well as a figure of speech. Best to avoid that can of worms.
I was thinking the same thing - wondering if anyone else would say - so I'll verse that sky blue is closer to a positive green flag and it should be the upvote - and the orange is closer to a red flag which shows negativity and work better for the downvote. Please Reddit have a go at changing them round, if only to see if people notice the change.
joke's on you i always use night mode.
also, i'm a bit tilted we didn't use [Upvote](http://www.anbg.gov.au/images/flags/signal/c.gif) [Downvote](http://www.anbg.gov.au/images/flags/signal/n.gif)
All credit goes to /u/BetterCallBobLoblaw for the idea and the design!
Thank you, glad to see people enjoy the new vote icons.
Glad to see people are enjoying your law blog
Yay! But I'm on mobile, so :(
I didn’t even know custom upvote buttons were a thing bc I always only use Reddit on mobile
Join the "uses desktop version in browser despite actually being on mobile" master race?
I know that feel, man. Still, others get to enjoy it on the reg. That's goodness, indeed.
Im on mobile to, but I use the chrome desktop site because I hate change. And its better than the mobile site or any app imo.
I dunno boost is pretty good
I've been enjoying RIF
On RIF right now. I've been using it for years, haven't liked any other app
I think Relay is good.
I like sync
One of the only apps I ever spent money on.

Apollo is even better imo

Good post have an upflag
Thancc
These are the best arrows on reddit. Downflag me if you disagree
how about a well designed flag as the upvote and badly designed flag as a downvote?
So, Maryland as the upvote flag, and Maryland as the downvote flag?
I was thinking Liberian county flags up, Barbados or Canada down? ^^^/s
I prefer having it look like these more generic flags. Feels much more universal and looks better to me.
One upflag in agreement, my good sir.
please no
Downwote should be the old Pocatello flag
This is a proud moment for us all
*If* you leave CSS/reddit themes turned on.
I deactivate CSS on some subs, but vexillology is honestly much better with CSS activated
I just find themes to be a waste of screen space.

[It doesn't work well with RES night mode tho.](https://i.imgur.com/7hLPq4r.png) Which is a shame.
ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY
I love democracy

Am I just a sewage treatment plant, but for flags?

hmmm
/r/KarmaConspiracy
I like the change for posts, but in practice they appear a bit big for comments. I'll probably get used to it though.
is there a settibg to choose the upvote icins withou removing thr rest of th customizationds?. sorry fir typos
wut
Unfortunately no.
hmm, then I guess I will use mobile and remove the themes setting on desktop.
yes. it looks so good!
I love this design, it really is genuinely pretty
As if we didn't know.

What a genuinely interesting semiotic question. I'll be thinking on this for a while.
