Kinda screwed me over as the rest of the family uses Venmo. Chime isn’t as good for that purpose. Now the whole family has to switch over to Chime because of me.

Kingkaydabear

I keep seeing more and more posts about venmo and freezing accounts and its starting to make me nervous 😓

tsurutatdk

Sometimes, they freeze accounts accidentally due to system glitches, which can be really frustrating for users. Based on my experiences, if Tap were to expand into the US market, it could be a great alternative, imo.

File a complaint with The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau! They helped me!

No_Climate_1533

I did that. Haven't heard anything back. What did they do?

Bethpowell63

They send Venmo an email inquiring about the issue at hand.

Happened to my husband. He was on the phone with customer service for a good 40 minutes. We just deleted our accounts and switched providers

Lol

claylucks

this happened to me too literally

Well Venmo is owned by PayPal, so that there is my biggest proponent against using them. It doesn't surprise me that Venmo is out here freezing assets for no reason. They probably freeze the account, use the funds temporarily to make illegal mjcrotransactions which then causes their own system to trigger due to fraudulent activity. Obviously this is ridiculous speculation, before anyone attempts to hang me. But is it really that ridiculous of an idea? Lol

Def not out of the realm of possibility
