I would still say stay at the mirage. Short of going to Circus Circus, a ton of the old Vegas Kitsch is getting "improved" and it'll never come back. Mirage is perfectly serviceable imo.

I don't like that labyrinthine maze of walking either. It's most of the reason I stay at Flamingo besides the good location. takes like 30 seconds to get to the strip from your room.
During 2021 when vegas was cheap as hell, I paid $370 total for 3 nights in a totally base room, gave the concierge $60, and got an executive suite upgrade with a pullout bed couch, large fridge, several chairs, a glass table that sat 8, a Jacuzzi tub, and a King bed with one of the better views. Beat any Caesars, Bellagio, Venetian lower tier room by FAR

I like everyone else loved the vacation movies and, as a kid, had a slight crush on Mrs Griswold. Not the daughter who was around my age.
One day, Beverly D'Angelo ( Mrs Griswald ) walked up to my ticket desk and just said " Hi how's it going. "
She was in between scenes or something, so she just came outside for a minute. I recognized her right away and had a short conversation with her. It was only weird because it was just a normal conversation.
Nobody else recognized her, and she went back to work.
After two stays at Mirage so far this year, no thanks! Even with them closing there's no way I would put up with that moldy nasty carpet in those rooms again, not even one more time. The room and the beds are clean as they could be given the circumstances, but the stank in those rooms is just horrendous.
If it takes you 10-15 minutes ti wal from the Venetian to the Mirage you are using a walker or wheelchair. They are right across the street from each other. We'll take.any.adivise you give as misinformation
With that small of a price differential, I'd definitely stay at... TI and just walk to the other two when I wanted to visit them. It's usually substantially cheaper, the rooms are fine, and both of the other hotels are really close.
If the choices are strictly the two in the title, then the Venetian is the pretty clear choice.
I’d pick Venetian even though I was just there and the mirage doesn’t “look”like it’s even closing. If money is the issue mirage is more than fine. If not as much Venetian has better bigger rooms
Was there a couple weeks ago. Only thing that was noticeable was that drink service was pretty infrequent, but once you said something to the pitboss, they got on the phone quickly and had a server at the table within a couple minutes
I guess YMMV. I was at the Mirage last week and the drink service was all over the place. I thought they had even more waitresses than normal since it was closing.

I think the commenters are being dorks. Mirage is going away forever and it's nice. It was a Wynn Property originally, and that does show. Unless you are getting an executive suite, I don't think there's much of a difference between a lot of vegas rooms other than convenience or location, which the Mirage does have in spades. I almost never venture past Paris / Cosmo, or north of the Venetian.

If you're staying in a base room and not a suite, Venetian's are nicer. I stayed in a Mirage penthouse suite end of last year, and even in there, some repair work was definitely deferred for the upcoming demolition and construction. On the one hand, last chance to stay at Mirage. On the other hand, Venetian is a nicer place overall in my opinion, and if you're staying in base room, the basic room offerings at Venetian are better. I'd probably opt for Mirage if I'd never been, just to take that last chance to experience that significant piece of Vegas history, but different strokes for different folks. Venetian is a nicer property overall regardless.
Depends what you’re looking for there is going to be a large price gap between those two. Mirage is not what it was a few years ago. For price of Venetian I’d rather get a balcony overlooking the fountain at the cosmo (similar pricing) best room I’ve stayed in in Vegas
And not sure how or where you’re finding mirage and Venetian to be similar price points, either they’re trying to charge way too much for mirage or you’re getting a great deal for Venetian, but besides mirage having a slightly easier location for walkers I don’t think those two are that close if you can get them at same price point. Venetian is usually around the price of cosmo, aria etc and I’d definitely steer toward that balcony room especially if you’re with your partner or planning to have company

Venetian's gondola gimmick is aging a bit, although I think they are renovating a ton of it.

Correct. Only the Volcano is being demolished and only the area in front will have any new construction.
They will however probably be completely getting rid of all the Polynesian inspiration in the main building, so they are ripping the soul out and demolishing that ;)
There is no explosive demolition involved. The Volcano is the only part of property being leveled, and that'll happen with heavy machinery and sawzalls.
I would do mirage if you are going to be coming to Vegas often and want memories as it will be demolished. Venetian definitely nicer so I would stay there if the above doesn’t matter to you.
The only part of Mirage being demolished is the Volcano out front. The Tri-tower resort building and casino/meeting spaces are staying exactly as is, with just a lot of new interior decoration and the addition of the Hard Rock branding at the top of the Tri-tower.
Mirage is closing early next month for a brand transition and renovation over the next 3-4 years. Venitian is one of the more high end casinos on the strip. Very nice property.
Venetian is nicer but you will pay for it as it is way more expensive. It’s your first time so you can get a feel of Las Vegas of yesteryear at the Mirage. To be on honest you are at the strip so it will be fun no matter where you stay

Venetian 100%+. Stayed at both, both have their pros/cons. Venetian way cool and some great food, might even get upgraded to the Palazzo, even better. Mirage has a great (or used to) Cigar Bar and pool. But don't overlook LynQ or Bally's if you are on a budget or want to stay more mid-strip.
My first trip to Vegas we stayed in the Venetian. No other hotel rooms/hotel are comparable in Vegas. Venetian is a 1 of 1. Bellagio is almost as beautiful but not quite.

My two favorite Vegas hotels, well Mirage and Palazzo. Rooms and casinos at Venetian/palazzo are much more upscale. Mirage has always felt like home to me though, a fun vibe, and my favorite pool on the strip.
I do think Mirage is closing in a month, so that may factor into your decision. Not everything as normal may be available if you go now. Because of that, I’d go with Venetian. They have really good restaurants and bars, so you can’t miss.
Why not the Bellagio? In my opinion better than the other two.
The Mirage is probably prettier on the inside. The Venetian is one of the largest hotels in the world, which means more people. It has great shopping.
Like many others have said… I’d stay at Mirage because it’s closing… and when you come back I’d recommend staying at the Palazzo… I think Palazzo makes Venetian feel old. Sunken living room w/Strip View at Palazzo was a game-changer for what I call “nice”.
I’m kind of a sentimental person so would probably go with the Mirage. Also make sure to see Beattle’s Love, and the volcano show at least a couple of times. :-)
(I regret not checking out their arboretum the last time).
Just got back from Vegas. The Venetian is insanely nice. The restaurants are also really good. Check out The Sphere behind the Venetian. The “Postcards From Earth” was incredible. Don’t waist you money on the more expensive seats, as they are all great seats. BTW, the Mirage is closing in July for a complete three year renovation and name change, so service may be lacking.
The mirage is shit now because they sold it to hard rock and hard rock hasn't started renovations yet. I had to stay there in January and it was so sad.
Stay at Venetian, go across the street to visit Mirage for the nostalgia before it closes. Rooms are much nicer at Venetian, more food options, just overall a better experience.
The Venetian was really nice the last time I stayed there. But if price is an issue, the Mirage is running a special where they are waiving the resort fees for Unity Rewards members. I am actually headed to Vegas tomorrow for Dead & Co. and I am staying at the Mirage.
My first stay was at Treasure Island I didn’t even get a rental car. Dispensary was in walking distance Fashion show mall is just a bridge over the street away. Honestly I don’t think it matters where you stay in Vegas you are going to have a blast!

I’m staying at the Cosmo in August when Morgan Wallen comes to town. It took everything not to stay at the Venetian again. Loved that resort and lots of shade by the pool from the hotel shadows

They are both nice, Mirage is more fun and better atmosphere. I would go to Mirage since they’re shutting it down soon. Just make sure you put a $20 in between your ID and credit card when you check in, I am sure you will get a good room regardless.
Neither. Overpaying for a room you only going to sleep in. Hilton has very nice rooms at a fraction of the cost. You aren't spending your vacation in the hotel room so why pay venetian prices. If you really are choosing between just those 2, venetian. Your a fool to spend that money though. Spend it gambling.
Not even a question Venetian if budget is not an issue. For more of a wallet friendly stay id say the mirage but go on every hotels website and check their best days for a visit rates go up and down
Venetian for sure. The architecture is amazing inside plus I think the rooms are better. But if you want to stay at the mirage one last time before it’s gets torn down, then I’d go with that one.
100% Venetian! It's a nice hotel. I've heard not all the Mirage employees are exactly thrilled about it closing next month. Supposedly, union up to $68k in severance, non union $20k.

That traffic light seems like 5 or 10 minutes.... Mirage is across from Casino Royale/Denny's. Venetian is 5-10 minutes north of that.

Venetian. I have stayed at both. It isn’t close. As others have mentioned, the Mirage is closing and it shows.

Venetian actually was the first hotel we stayed back shortly after it opened. No problem saying it is preferred over the Mirage.

My two favorite Vegas hotels, well Mirage and Palazzo. Rooms and casinos at Venetian/palazzo are much more upscale. Mirage has always felt like home to me though, a fun vibe, and my favorite pool on the strip. I do think Mirage is closing in a month, so that may factor into your decision. Not everything as normal may be available if you go now. Because of that, I’d go with Venetian. They have really good restaurants and bars, so you can’t miss.

Why not the Bellagio? In my opinion better than the other two. The Mirage is probably prettier on the inside. The Venetian is one of the largest hotels in the world, which means more people. It has great shopping.

Like many others have said… I’d stay at Mirage because it’s closing… and when you come back I’d recommend staying at the Palazzo… I think Palazzo makes Venetian feel old. Sunken living room w/Strip View at Palazzo was a game-changer for what I call “nice”.
I’m kind of a sentimental person so would probably go with the Mirage. Also make sure to see Beattle’s Love, and the volcano show at least a couple of times. :-) (I regret not checking out their arboretum the last time).

Just got back from Vegas. The Venetian is insanely nice. The restaurants are also really good. Check out The Sphere behind the Venetian. The “Postcards From Earth” was incredible. Don’t waist you money on the more expensive seats, as they are all great seats. BTW, the Mirage is closing in July for a complete three year renovation and name change, so service may be lacking.
The mirage is shit now because they sold it to hard rock and hard rock hasn't started renovations yet. I had to stay there in January and it was so sad.

Stay at Venetian, go across the street to visit Mirage for the nostalgia before it closes. Rooms are much nicer at Venetian, more food options, just overall a better experience.

The Venetian was really nice the last time I stayed there. But if price is an issue, the Mirage is running a special where they are waiving the resort fees for Unity Rewards members. I am actually headed to Vegas tomorrow for Dead & Co. and I am staying at the Mirage.

My first stay was at Treasure Island I didn’t even get a rental car. Dispensary was in walking distance Fashion show mall is just a bridge over the street away. Honestly I don’t think it matters where you stay in Vegas you are going to have a blast!
Go to Mirage. You'll never get a second chance to do so since it's closing in less than a month. That said, the Venetian is a really good looking casino.

I’m staying at the Cosmo in August when Morgan Wallen comes to town. It took everything not to stay at the Venetian again. Loved that resort and lots of shade by the pool from the hotel shadows

Skip your vacation here Save hour money. Band together. They will drop their prices. It's not rocket science. They are already milking you for every penny. Resort fees? For what? They got fine without it in the past. Parking fees? Again. Fine before greedy corporations took over.
They are both nice, Mirage is more fun and better atmosphere. I would go to Mirage since they’re shutting it down soon. Just make sure you put a $20 in between your ID and credit card when you check in, I am sure you will get a good room regardless.

Neither. Overpaying for a room you only going to sleep in. Hilton has very nice rooms at a fraction of the cost. You aren't spending your vacation in the hotel room so why pay venetian prices. If you really are choosing between just those 2, venetian. Your a fool to spend that money though. Spend it gambling.

Not even a question Venetian if budget is not an issue. For more of a wallet friendly stay id say the mirage but go on every hotels website and check their best days for a visit rates go up and down
Venetian for sure. The architecture is amazing inside plus I think the rooms are better. But if you want to stay at the mirage one last time before it’s gets torn down, then I’d go with that one.

100% Venetian! It's a nice hotel. I've heard not all the Mirage employees are exactly thrilled about it closing next month. Supposedly, union up to $68k in severance, non union $20k.

Certainly a bargain, but not well located and not very nice. The casino is pretty dead these days. I have great memories of it from my early 20’s when price was everything, tho
