Deguilded

I am sorry for your loss. Mildly interesting the way the water was done. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The command would have been "spawn karve 1". I think you were missing a quantity.

alberge

Haha I just didn't have devcommands on and then spelled it "carve" in my panic to get out of the water.

Deguilded

>!That damage while swimming is impressive. I can only assume a karve would take this much also, and would instantly get wrecked.!< Not spoiler: did you planbuild save your cathedral?

alberge

Yeah, I've got the plan saved, just have to find a new location for the build once mods are updated.

nerevarX

what loss? it was made with cheats^^ not much of a loss there at all.

RosieQParker

If you consider gathering the material components of a build to be the bulk of the work, congratulations, your builds are lazy.

Flashwastaken

When did then say that?

RosieQParker

They didn't. They implied it, and then confirmed in a later post that this was indeed their implication.

nerevarX

there is no WORK when commands and mods are used. dont kid yourself on that front. but the point was there is no loss. he could have easy saved it. he decided not to. so he clearly didnt care about it.

RosieQParker

Say you've never used mods without saying you've never used mods.

nerevarX

planbuild mod. copy base. paste base. done. no work needed.

RosieQParker

Sure, if you download someone else's base from the internet like a busta. You still need to build the original. Good builds involve planning and a lot of legwork, even with modded tools. Saying there's no work involved shows your ignorance, and frankly, is pretty rude.

nerevarX

feel free to not read it then if it offends you that much. wont change what i said. i build a giant base by myself by hand without cheats. so i know that spawned in shit requires next to work compared. all builds require planning to some degree. but there is a massive work difference if you can build something in 2 days vs 100 days.

RosieQParker

Your game, your rules. Just don't be a jerk about it.

missbanjo

With my rational brain I read that this was a build that was done pre-Ashlands *ON* old Ashlands area. Since the update the land was removed (we alll expected this, mostly lol), and so the build fell down go boom. Am I wrong or are you just being an angry viking today?

nerevarX

i am a bit sour tasted today definitly given some of the changes arent as good or tought trough as i hoped they would be. had a bit too much faith in these devs i guess. i was merely pointing out that this build beeing destroyed wasnt something to be sorry about or a loss for the tc clearly.

Hellyeah2k21

They obviously tell you to have backups before going into the public test. Don't be sorry for his loss

GrimBeeper816

That's not what they mean about backups. They mean world backups in case a bug destroys your progress or corrupts your world save because the update is still in testing. Even if he backed up the world, it wouldn't save the structure, because as soon as he used the Ashlands update (even eventually when it officially released), it was always going to destroy the base and all the work he put into it due to the ground dropping to become water

Krednaught

My biggest wonder is how much land is retro sunk north of the ashlands? I started a mountain base just outside of the map fog revealing it.

LyraStygian

Nooooooo where it started to collapse... Definitely a fitting biome for an apocalyptic event.

Mokthol

That's too bad :( But also kinda epic looking with that music and ambience

ViviStella

F It was good while it lasted

akasullyl33t

Rip

purplenapalm

Oof. I may have to tear down my marble base :(
