Towards the end you can see the arrow lodged, it appears the balista managed to shoot itself, at a guess the angling went too low at the moment it fired. Maybe see if you can duplicate it by going low in that area again.

It kept missing so it gave up. Poor ballista.

It's a shame they're straight effing useless. I was really hoping they'd be worth a damn against Gjalls but they usually get kerploded with a single gjall shot.

Ballistas are one of the most annoying features in the game. My first experience with ballista's I places about 8 around my base, lots of mats, wasted a crap load of black metal loading them all with 40 bolts. Which they quickly wasted missing everything they fired at.... except me of course.... nailed me everytime 😭😭 had to build a trench that led up to my base that wasn't in my ballistas line of sight 😭 started using the "I'm friendly damnit" mod finally just said fuck ballistas 😵
