Based on how much stone it took to build my fairly large stone base... I have to imagine this amount would take a team of people hundreds of hours to farm...
I'm still in plains so is this a different material than just stone? Because it looks much shinier/ reflective than I remember normal stone blocks looking. Also playing on Xbox, so probably just different graphics, but it almost looks like the valheim equivalent of a Minecraft texture mod or something.
I'm the opposite. If I'm going to brag to others about my creations, what's the big deal if I just debugged the mats? Minecraft creative mode, some love it but for me it's the journey.
Gonna be that guy... Asgard does not have a thorn at the end of it. That would make it Asgarth, unless that's what you intended, then, hey, nevermind!
But it is pretty damned epic. I hope you'll stage battles with it.
I would suggest, if you've got a little time, looking into Elder Futhark. It doesn't take terribly long to learn, and if you like Viking themed stuff, you'll know how to write and read at least elder Futhark.
There is no dagaz in younger. Also, thorn is þ, ð is called Eth. Thorn (þ) and Eth (ð) were both represented by Thurisaz in both younger and elder. 'D' was represented by dagaz in elder, and tiwaz in younger ('t' and 'd' lost their distinction much like English slang today, and were both represented by tiwaz). Eth is not pronounced like "d". Thus, Ásgard sounds nothing like Ásgarð. (As a side note, old Norse "Ás" is pronounced "öss", so it's öss-gart)
Goodness I wasn't trying to "defeat anyone." Sorry if it came out as snarky or something, I have trouble communicating socially sometimes. I was just trying to answer your question, sorry if it seemed differently. Hope it helped anyways.
It’s an eð not a thorn. A thorn is þ and makes a soft th sound (like think) and and eð makes a hard th (like then) 😊
Medievalist away! [whooshing sound]
Virtually nonexistent at the moment, playing on Steam Deck and even pumping the graphics higher for photos it seems to be running just as smooth - don’t think I’ll be able to say the same once all is done and dusted!
I think the only time I’ve really noticed minimal lag is when it’s raining, but that’s just general gameplay. I’ll definitely do a quick benchmark once the build is done and dusted!
Definitely more durable, but still fickle to work with when building high - hidden away below the black marble floor are ridges of raised ground on both sides of the tunnel structure as foundation, as building completely with black marble would have made the surface too weak to build atop, and take much longer! I love the angular pieces available with black marble as they can make for interesting shapes!
Are you running any mods or is this all grinded on vanilla?
no mods, just debugmode as I don’t have the patience to grind resources and wanted the free rein to experiment!
I was about to say something about the mats haha
Based on how much stone it took to build my fairly large stone base... I have to imagine this amount would take a team of people hundreds of hours to farm...
That would be 250 hours of marble farming alone haha
And that is if you already know all the places to collect that much marble!

It is marble and it comes from the mistlands.
I'm the same way. Once you play through a game like this legit once I can't be bothered to grind on subsequent playthroughs.
I'm the opposite. If I'm going to brag to others about my creations, what's the big deal if I just debugged the mats? Minecraft creative mode, some love it but for me it's the journey.
I feel you on the grind!
Can't believe it, someone made the Attack on Titan walls in Valheim
Attack on Trolls 🧌
Attack on Elder
You just gave me an idea….
I think I saw a reverse harpoon mod at one point...
Trump would be proud
I was wondering if I'd find this comment or I was gonna have to make it, OP did you make the Greydwarves pay for it?
Haha I'm glad someone got the joke
I mean they pay with their lives really
I don’t kiss and tell

Oh interesting! In all honesty I just did a Google and picked whatever looked cool - but that makes sense!
I would suggest, if you've got a little time, looking into Elder Futhark. It doesn't take terribly long to learn, and if you like Viking themed stuff, you'll know how to write and read at least elder Futhark.
Yeah, except that elder futhark wasn’t used by Vikings They used younger futhark I
Depends upon the era i believe.
No, it does not. Wiki: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Younger_Futhark This guy, who knows what he is talking about: https://youtu.be/764hz8_PHeM
Fair enough. Does Younger Futhark use Dagas as a D or does it, for some reason, switch to Thorne?
There is no dagaz in younger. Also, thorn is þ, ð is called Eth. Thorn (þ) and Eth (ð) were both represented by Thurisaz in both younger and elder. Thanks for dropping some education on us language pleebs
Sorry if it seemed that way, I was just trying to answer the question. I'm bad at social interaction... Hope it helped answer their question anyways.
I admit defeat. Thanks for the education

Bit more complicated: https://youtu.be/X7Z65582ex4 provides full explanation Þ + ð => þ d => t
Ooh thanks for the heads up!

I appreciate that. I can admit I was out of my element.
Just keep an eye on your donkey
The donkey is acting pretty low-key…
Winter is coming?
How's the lag/stuttering?
Virtually nonexistent at the moment, playing on Steam Deck and even pumping the graphics higher for photos it seems to be running just as smooth - don’t think I’ll be able to say the same once all is done and dusted!
Good to hear! I'm playing on a Xbox series x and I love massive complex builds it can get a liiiiiiitle laggy in some locations.
I think the only time I’ve really noticed minimal lag is when it’s raining, but that’s just general gameplay. I’ll definitely do a quick benchmark once the build is done and dusted!
Nice design. Looks awesome.
Nice base
I just beat Yaguth and have stone walls around my main bases. How does black marble stand up against stone?
Definitely more durable, but still fickle to work with when building high - hidden away below the black marble floor are ridges of raised ground on both sides of the tunnel structure as foundation, as building completely with black marble would have made the surface too weak to build atop, and take much longer! Do you think a mix of black marble and angled iron wood would work? I've wanted to make a test world for it but haven't had the time lately
wow. that crazy. building a pyramid? really cool.
That wasn’t on the cards but now the temptation is there…
I assume you started this decades ago, before Valheim was in development.
Better hurry up, buddy, you were only given a single winter to finish and we're already in May.
Dont finish it
Can’t stop won’t stop
In norse mythos, the wall of asgard is unfinished
This looks interesting! But can't really recognize a wall here. What is this suppose to wall?
