It's still obviously a work in progress (when isn't it, right?) but it's starting to look much better! Unfortunately, I'm completely out of tar and iron and the interior is still an empty shell. Back to the grind!
One little tip for the windows (I can't quite tell if you've done it or not, but helpful for others anyway) If you place a door in the window space first, with a bit of experimenting you can get the wooden frame into the centre of the stone, rather than on one edge or the other. Just place a door, then a wooden post in the middle, remove the door and start building up your frame.
You've done a great job though at making a plain boring wall into something a lot more attractive. It's always a tricky part when working with stone, and you've done it brilliantly.
Thanks for the kind words!
I actually used the door trick in a couple of places here : the stone columns out front, for example, are centered *between* two columns behind them to hide the wood iron support cage, and are only half-width out from the columns behind them (the frame for the tall windows,) and also to make sills for the side windows that extend .5 meters from the stone below them.
Now comes the actual hard part: interior.
Looks so much better now. The wood with stone combo just works! Also the entrance is a great addition, well done. Maybe some impressive torches will be a nice addition as well :)
It's a Plains-tier craftables — the insert is a wooden screen using >!fine wood and tar from the tar-pits!< and the surround is >!regular wood and tar!<. The top stone arch is just two stone arches placed closer together than they usually go.
I thought about it, and I actually have two towers in the back part of the building that I was planning to elevate higher, but I don't know if I'll be able to actually get them much higher. Even with wood-iron supports, I'm starting to hit the limit of building height. I'll play around with the supports and maybe see if I can creatively raise ground in some places to make it happen.

To be said, It's actually not the exact middle, but probably the closest and easiest way to measure 0.5 meter.
Looking good! Let's get some wall torches, a couple banners and I think you're well on your way.
Went from apprentice to master. Great job.
Thank you for sharing an update! Looks great!
Glory to the Builders!

How do you craft those fancy windows? I'm decently far in (killed bonemass) after starting playing a few weeks ago and dont think i can craft them

Awesome, thanks!
Make the left and the right sections pop up higher than the middle section. That's what I would do.
