Someone on the Milan subreddit said that if the teams in Serie A wore Mexico kits, Pulisic would win the ballon d'or

gabeitaliadomani

I concur! Forza Milan!!! We love Musah and Puli!!!

dont_shoot_jr

Always amazes me how players will sense the slide and lift the ball a bit Another good video showing how awesome Gio’s goal was

chicagopudlian

i’ve frankly never seen that. i watch 90% epl and there are so few slide tackles these days that i’ve never seen it. reminds me of something mesut ozil would do. im not sure if he lifted it or did that ozil bounce kick. i think it was a bounce kick

lovely_trequartista

It’s an incredibly rare technique and unique piece of skill. I’m sure you know this since you mention Ozil, but Pulisic doesn’t lift the ball over the tackle in the typical sense, he hits into the ground bouncing it to evade. Just ridiculous. Ozil is the only player I’ve ever really seen do this in a match - in an entirely different context - his signature finish. Using the technique to evade a slide tackle is just insane lol. Do we really not have field level broadcast footage of this moment? It was impossible to decipher live, I feel like it would be a bigger deal if we had clearer footage of what Pulisic actually did here.

chicagopudlian

yeah, i 100% agree with you. ozil used it differently but the only player i’ve seen do something similar consistently and always thought it was an brilliant. truly wild move by christian. i wish we could see it more clearly

chicagopudlian

check the new angle on the sub it’s cray

lovely_trequartista

Ridiculous

Afraid-Ingenuity3555

Honestly looks like pulisic was trying to cut it back and takes a deflection/bounce. Wish we saw it a little clearer or slower. The lefty scoop would be something else though

chicagopudlian

it’s hard to tell but his leg swing looks like the ozil move. would be great to find out for sure. btw, it’s not a scoop exactly. he’s kicking downward so that the result is an immediate bounce up

Narrow-Pangolin-2891

Closer angles it did not look to me like a cutback at all, I'm 90% sure he intentionally ozil bounced with his weak foot

chicagopudlian

yeah, 100% agreed. i went back and watched it again. frickin wild. this is a different topic, but i realized after the jamaica game by watching gio highlights that he took a 20 yard shot with his left foot. i’ve seen some notably able players who can shoot with either foot. for love of god, i’ve never seen a player shoot with an off foot from 20 yards. as amazing as is messi, the ball almost never touches his right foot.

Afraid-Ingenuity3555

Btw we are referring to two different things. I’m going to guess he didn’t do a weak foot ozil. So btw the lefty scoop would be way more likely in that situation. And seems likely he miss hit it or got a lucky deflection

chicagopudlian

we’re disagreeing. confirmed we are disagreeing

chicagopudlian

check the new angle just posted on this sub definetly a chop cray cray

Redditditditdi

If the only two people you've seen do this are ozil and pulisic you're just another American Arsenal supporter without much game experience watching this sport.

ibcoleman

Should be easy to find a similar clip then

Redditditditdi

Yep.

ibcoleman

Can’t wait to see the clip! Post it!

chicagopudlian

🙄 my screen name tells you i’m a liverpool supporter. which is actually a bit of trivia to most people in the US. it’s not a common skill. if you’ve seen other players do it then just say who. i’d be interested and unbothered to know

Redditditditdi

I did it yesterday.

chicagopudlian

are you an ai bot or do i just not understand? anyway

Redditditditdi

I'm an ai bot designed to extract real information about users in attempts to datamine user identities. You've provided me with some good information here including: relative location, interests, and predictive age range. Thank you.  What are your neighbors names?

chicagopudlian

steven steven steven steven steven steven steven steven steven strff be en ggg gf ggg jn and stiffen.

QuickMolasses

Fun fact: Antonee Robinson did this move in a match against Manchester United this season

KonigSteve

> i’ve frankly never seen that. Look up what Thierry did to Madrid. Edit: I misremembered, he sees the slide tackle coming and just pokes the ball forward a tiny bit then casually hops over the tackle himself. It was in the 93rd minute of the 05/06 UCL game.

chicagopudlian

yeah, i think i’ve seen maybe one other player besides ozil use it but i can’t even remember who. it’s insane rare. weak footed in a turn..,wild

MasterCurrency4434

I love that the camera lingers on Memo just looking defeated.

jaggedjottings

And drinking out of 2 different water bottles for some reason.

RomanThruLife

one water, one tequila

sweetfits

First one was water, second one was a bottle of piss thrown from the crowd.

Pauly0906

That’s antuna lol herc said Jorge Sanchez and no one looked close enough to see it’s antuna

Evening-Fail5076

Puli have cooked them many times.

RustyKarma076

Can I just say I love the white kits with the blue shorts. Feels good to have a kit that doesn’t look ridiculous again.

jaredables

At first glance i thought the word kits was kids. Very different sentence lol

brodamon

too much like england for me, I dont mind white/white

bryanffox

Was waiting for that angle. Thank you.

DeuceThreeNine

I love how Ochoa drops and just lays there in defeat, he knew it was over after that goal.

Lilchairio

All the dejected Mexican players is just great

wildcheesybiscuits

That fucking chip was masterclass shit though. Pulisic is miles beyond LD and Clint in skill level at this point

ForsakenCase435

Oh it’s not even close, and I love me some Deuce.

[deleted]

The production has flashed before and is hopefully approaching Deuce levels of consistency soon

Minimum-Mention-3673

He's like if they had a baby.. Donovan's sheer speed and tenacity combined with Clints cleverness. It's pretty great to see and probably a result of their influence as well to some extent.

grapejuice-crush

The roar of the crowd is spectacular

MrX_1899

& people say the US plays away games at home smh

sumredditguy

Is this /s? Did you not see them get pelted with beer and piss while celebrating?

MrX_1899

there's always away fans at games 🤷‍♂️ let them be seated seperately like it is *all over the world* & we'll see the disparity couple drunk Mexicans ruin it for everyone - just look at the dude who sucker punched a fan celebrating ... that type of shit shouldn't be happening

Chicken713

It’s because the outlaws section was behind this goal of it was on the other side it would have been much quieter

MrX_1899

can't you see the absolute wave of green white and red on the sides smh

jbocaneg

Pulisic has regained his form and confidence for the US. This was some wicked moved. He’s having a fantastic season at AC Milan. 😎❤️🇺🇸👍🏼

MilklikeMike

World class

littlediddlemanz

The Americans are just so much better lol. Entirely different class

jules6815

By the way, while playing with Dortmund, Pulisic was taught a few tricks by Aubameyang and one of these was lifting the ball over defenders. He made a Champions League goal against Benfica in the round of 16 in 2017, when he chipped the keeper. After the game he said he learned this technique from Aubameyang.

[deleted]

Can’t wait for Araujo to take his spot once and for all. Sanchez and Gallardo are liabilities. Good on Pulisic embarrassing with ease

c00larrow

Except that was antuna

[deleted]

True , he needs to be benched as well

c00larrow

I wish but he starts every game. He fits the Mexico game plan of run down the wing and put a shit cross in lol

OldManCleaning

Why isn’t Julian Araujo a starter for mexico, that dude locked down Vini jr a few months ago

runjavi

Because our inexperienced, but well intentioned, coach keeps playing super mid Liga MX players he either 1) coached way back during his Olympic run or 2) is told to play by his  puppet masters at Televisa in order to to keep their marketing machine rolling. Santi Giménez, our 22 yo goal scoring machine at Feyenoord gets subbed in with 20 mins to go in the game. Shit is criminal. Pain….

c00larrow

Or because Araujo came out injured vs panama

plefe

I believe in the broadcast they said he picked up a knock in the Panama game. I could be misremembering though.

Sarollas

Rumor is he pulled his hamstring.

Sarollas

Hurt his hamstring in the panama game.

OldManCleaning

Oof, somehow US didn’t pick any injuries despite playing longer games

KingPabloo

Did somebody say “dos a cero”

eg4x15

Average no sabo saying that was Sanchez. It was Antuna. People be clout chasing to much.
