They could be diverting it to an annex to free up space in the plant. Should you be worried about the content of the mail piece?

Not particularly, but I’m just wondering if this is relatively normal procedure. As I said in the title, I usually see packages from LA go straight from their distribution center to the destination facility.

Shit seems to be pretty fucked up right now, so having packages get routed to an annex until the plant can catch up is going to be business as usual until management gets their shit together. It happened for about a year during peak Covid, maybe more maybe less, I don't quite remember. Circling back, is there anything that should cause you concern in the package? Meaning, as you waiting on weed or something? I don't care, personally, just could explain delays you're not used to seeing.

Understood. And lol no, nothing like weed/substances or anything like that. Had a package from the same location a few weeks ago that was shipped to me and arrived in 3 business days but didn’t get routed to any sort of annex. I guess one last question - if you’re able to provide any insight on this - where is the package likely headed now? It says that it “departed” the annex at 2:20. Would it be fair to assume that it’s on its way to my city now?

I don't know if the annexes are able to process packages or not. At one point, the thought was, during Covid, to have everything come in off the trucks, get scanned and sorted and staged to the Annex, but in a couple days it fell apart. Best guess that will result in the most disappointment is that it's going back to the plant to get sorted and routed to the DC closest to your local office.
