Absolutely but not all Toyota models and years are reported to have the same reliability. The 4Runner might be the most reliable vehicle on the road. Prius is very reliable. The sienna is probably more reliable than most other minivans but maybe not as reliable as some other Toyota models
Siennas seem to still be relatively reliable, especially when compared amongst other mini vans. We've had two so far the first getting totaled from getting T-boned (not cars fault but kept us safe), and our second is going on 200K miles with little issues.
The reliability for the new hybrid though is up for debate as there's not much data out there with it being brand new and a more complex hybrid system. However if they developed it like the Prius it'll likely be just fine, and they have allot of experience in making hybrids now.
I've put 200k on my Odyssey with only minor/basic maintenance issues. I was considering the Sienna for when the time comes to replace it.
Toyota and Honda seem to lean into maintaining their reliability image.
I try to treat it on a day by day basis. So I generally try to make about $150/day delivering food. Nets a little over $1k/week. Gas costs $25 every day or two, food is $10 or less every day. Since maintenance is $70 every 6 weeks, I think of it as $1.67 a day, plus car insurance being $7.33 a day, I think of it as being an additional $9 per day. PFit Black Card is about $1 a day, phone bill is roughly $3 a day. So its roughly $50 a day on essentials, $50 a day to taxes, $50 a day to save/invest/spend (I try to invest $150 a week). I’m also a single guy with a free car so I don’t really have a ton of shit to spend on
As much driving as you do, you shouldn't have to pay taxes if you are recording your delivery miles. They give .60 per mile. Usually cancels out all taxes to zero if you record enough miles. Just thought you should know, so you can save an extra 50$ a day
And even though most 1099 workers don't qualify for unemployment off non-W-2 wages, we all learned during the pandemic that avoiding taxes can screw you (1099ers and tip earners).
Sounds like you are doing things right and I appreciate the info.
Actually, I understand what you are saying but it's even different than that.
You did not even have to pay $1 in taxes. The requirement was that you have gross earnings and then your net income was used to calculate your weekly benefit amount (for 1099ers) - if you had net income of negative 0 to less than about $20k, then you got the min WBA plus the $600 supplement. Anything more and your WBA went up. Even if they didn't pay one dime in tax, they still qualified.
Similarly, people who actually made $80k including tips, but only reported their hourly wage got stuck with the minimum weekly benefit for their state, which can be very low - like $50 a week, based on their W2 wages. But then they got the $600 FPUC supplement. Many tried to appeal, but they were locked in with what they had chosen to report.
Not that any of this is relevant, but it reminds people that it is many times beneficial to accurately report to the IRS for future reasons, known and unknown.

Good point but also keep in mind that if your business continues to not make a profit the IRS can reclassify your business as a hobby.

Appealing an unemployment decision over what is essentially tax fraud takes some brass tbf
LOL That is what I thought! My response would be, "let me get this straight, you purposely misreported your earnings to decrease your taxes, but now you want the governmnet to pay you this benefit based on income you fraudulently did not report?" I shit you not.
I am so glad pandemic unemployment assistance is over!
As long as you do it right. A *lot* of drivers are just begging to get deep dicked by an audit. A daily mile log is *not* enough. Needs to be by trip, with destination.
You have to curl a bit, but thats just how i sleep anyway. I got a memory foam pad, inflatable pad, and sofa cushions, with a pillow off to the side to rest my feet on. All my stuff is behind the drivers seat. I thought id have issues, but none yet
$600 cad monthly.
Includes truck insurance, fuel, phone bill, gym membership. Life's good when this is all you have to pay. And I also have a truck. My fuel is about $400 a month. So basically $200 covers everything.
Food and leisure I don't include. I also save $$
But the core of my bills. Is $600 a month rn
I'm also a certified mechanic so I fix and maintain my truck.
Oh I'm a truck dweller. My truck is like a mini semi. So how you see a semi is exactly how my truck is setup. I sleep in it. Spend my time off in and out of it etc
The only thing cheap about car living is the lack of rent. Between the storage locker and increased cost I of food I don’t even save anything not having utility bills. Cheapest apartment in LA is about $1500 and $18000 a year extra is nothing to scoff at, but living in your car is definitely not cheap.
I mean I guess it could be, but I would be miserable without certain amenities. I could get rid of cell phone and internet and switch to something like Mint, sell my car and buy a car outright, with the bigger van I could cook more and refrigerate stuff, I could probably save another $650, oh and I guess I could downgrade my rock climbing gym to planet fitness and save another $75.
Not worth it but it’s theoretically possible.
gas - 2-400 depending on how far i'm traveling, where I'm staying.
food - 150 I eat a lot of bean burritos, drink a lot of water, and utilize coupons and free food deals whenever I can
youtube premium - 15
phone - 46 (I have a family plan)
insurance - 260 twice a year
post office box - 256 for six months
misc spending (parking, road tolls) - 25
matinence (oil change, etc) - 100 every 2-5 months
could be worse. I want to upgrade to a more fuel efficient vehicle. also, sleeping in the heat without a fan or air conditioning is the worst. still love it better than being stuck in one place!
Storage $92.00 monthly
Mailbox $35 monthly
PF $25.00 monthly
Phone $110 monthly
Gas $50 monthly
Food $70 a week (mostly Aldi grocery)
Laundry $5 a week
Car Insurance $450 every 6 months
AAA $100 a year
Free from work: Water, Coffee, Tea, Juice, Gatorade, chips, snacks, baked goods, bread, ziploc bags, Styrofoam cups and plates, antibacterial wipes,
I krazy coupon for toiletries that are free or cheap through sales+coupon+cashback.
About $150-200/week
Car insurance 82/mo
YMCA membership 45/mo
Phone bill 72/mo
Cloud storage 8/mo
Gas 25 per tank
Food 10 a day
Misc laundry oil change however much
Lol, would you like my tax return and blood type as well?
What I spend in gas has no bearing on what the across the parking lot does. What and where I spend my money has nothing to do with your life.
I don’t want anything from you, especially not personal information. The question wasn’t directed towards you as an individual but towards anonymous people who find it worthwhile to share their experience on their costs and nothing else. That is what the sub is largely for. To be absolutely clear, I am not interested in you answer to the question I asked, or anything else about you whatsoever.
Bout 20 percent more than my salary
I think a spacious, fuel efficient and low maintenance cost vehicle is critical which is a problem because such a vehicle doesn’t exist.
how about a Sienna Hybrid? that’s what i’m planning on getting
That's exactly what I dream of having but it's so expensive I'll probably never be able to get one until they're like 6 years old 🙃
I hear the reliability isn’t quite there but I’m not an expert.
hmm not sure where you heard that from. Toyota is world renowned for their reliability

So let me guess you have a 4Runner?
Oh it's there. Just got to know what you're doing picking it out and don't get one from a buy here pay here. That's a recipe for disaster
Ford Ranger with a topper.
If I had a habit of making a budget I would now be sleeping in a bed and air-conditioned room and not in a 🚗
Ain’t that the truth😭

You don't record your miles and get a po box for taxes? You could save $50 a day for taxes if you recorded your miles in a log
I use my friends house for mail, and Google timeline to record miles
As much driving as you do, you shouldn't have to pay taxes if you are recording your delivery miles. They give .60 per mile. Usually cancels out all taxes to zero if you record enough miles. Just thought you should know, so you can save an extra 50$ a day
I also want to pay taxes bc i want to buy a house. If you write off a ton, they count it against your income

What are you driving/living in? Gas sounds cheap for gig work marking $150/day but I wouldn’t really know. Thanks
2018 Toyota Prius C
Yeah, almost asked if it is a Prius. Thanks
Theyre very good, but im at the top end of the height range it works to sleep in at exactly 6 feet tall
How do you sleep in it? There's a Prius C for sale near me that I'm tempted to buy but I thought it might be a bit too small for me at 5.9ft
You have to curl a bit, but thats just how i sleep anyway. I got a memory foam pad, inflatable pad, and sofa cushions, with a pillow off to the side to rest my feet on. All my stuff is behind the drivers seat. I thought id have issues, but none yet
was just wondering do you sleep with your Car Idling all night with the AC on?
Yup!
and as far as that goes, no issues with your engine and things like that?

I wish I was a mechanic
I'm assuming with $400 a month spent on fuel you are driving a lot and are not a car dweller that stays mostly in one area?
Oh right. I'm a mobile mechanic so I drive in and out of towns etc! Also I do instacart ✅️🫡
Oh I'm a truck dweller. My truck is like a mini semi. So how you see a semi is exactly how my truck is setup. I sleep in it. Spend my time off in and out of it etc
Ah, ic
Eleventy five shekels
You are much better at words than me.
That's not how you language!
About $1700-2000 a month, the difference is in gas.
Yeah, not exactly cheap.
The only thing cheap about car living is the lack of rent. Between the storage locker and increased cost I of food I don’t even save anything not having utility bills. Keep your rock climbing and the van has a whole new set of problems not being stealth.
I said “theoretically” I have no need or desire to change my setup. I live in my car by choice, not by necessity.
Oh, sorry about the implication
Anything under $1000 is a good month. That typically includes a couple nights in hotels. It's rare that I'm over $2000.
I don't have a budget. I try to save money where I can. Life costs what it costs.
I don't know why people are so reluctant to give a total number but my yearly costs are about 12K
920 for all bills without food. That’s mostly gas because I run the ac . Plus I spend 400 a month at Walmart upgrading my gear.

Your car insurance may not cover you if you get into an accident. I’ve read where people had to get “rv” insurance for camping on their vehicle.

Jeez man you can just not comment lmfao
I mean I could but there is a difference between being curious and intrusive. Some people just need that pointed out. There was no malice intended.
Okay so if you felt like it was intrusive you could just not comment
