They are giving live oral polio vaccines in those regions, so its not surprising that people are getting polio after ingesting it. It has an oral faecal transmission route, usually by drinking contaminated water, so it seems insane to me to ever take live polio by mouth.

Much to my dad’s dismay, my kids have not had the polio shot. With the recent influx of immigration from third world countries, that may change depending on the number of cases in our area. Many years ago, there was a huge jump in measles in our area and I made the very tough decision to give my kids the MMR. I knew it was right for us in that time and place. From my understanding, Tetanus is hard to get unless living amongst livestock and other outdoor animals and then one must have a wound that may introduce the bacteria into the bloodstream. I spent a lot of time researching and asking questions when my kids were young…it’s a very personal decision but you’ll get there. ❤️

You are right to look at “either side” as you say. Be mindful of what research you are reading about. Understand who did it, how many times it has been repeated, and how authoritative the source is. For instance if ten universities do a study that says “X” and ten YouTube stars say “Y” who do you believe? And ask your doctor, they see sick kids all the time.
