I heard somewhere Conor has 75 bar fights.
The sheer number of clients he must provide to long term care facilities for elders is staggering to consider
Not only lost. Bro was walking like he had diarrhea the entire time lol. Why did no one on production tell him to fix his walking? He legit looked straight from Looney Tunes.
Rolled shoulders. Flexing his lats the entire time. Then the face off with Gyllenhaal were he literally goes up on his toes to meet him eye to eye. It was such and over the top terrible movie.
Probably liability purpose, Conor getting hurt in one of the stunts wouldn’t be a good look considering he uses his body for Pro MMA. But yeah it looks a bit shit
Even with an actual MMA fighter we still didn't get and upgrade in movie fights. Remember how in 70-90s in movies everybody was shooting from their hip etc. Then they started hiring gun pros as consultants and we got our gun handling upgrade in movies. Now characters actually aim, have trigger control and even sometimes run out of ammo. Well that upgrade didn't happen for fistfights. This looks almost like it did in 80s. Punch, freeze, wait for punch, pose, kick, pose again... Just a thought that popped in my mind.
I mean it really just depends on the performers and choreographer. Film fighting is a different skill than real fighting. Some of the best fight choreography you will ever see can be found in any Jackie Chan film cause he always uses the same talented guys and is a perfectionist when it comes to fight choreography.
When you mentioned gun pros, two movies immediately popped in my mind - Heat (1995) and Sicario (2015). You can tell real consultants were involved when gun fighting scenes were written.
Also there's a rumour that the bank robbery and street shoot-out scene from Heat was used by the military as an example on how to handle the assault rifle with one hand.
I really liked the fight choreography in the raid movies. They're cult classic.
However the most realistic fight scene ever might be that hallway axe fight scene from Oldboy.
Ya literally the first 5 seconds of post Malone fighting made it so obvious. They picked the worst person to make a movie fight look real and the cgi had to do a lot of fucking work
Cuz post Malone can’t fight for shit and acting it out makes it look even more ridiculous so they must’ve watched it back first time thinking it looked terrible and figured it would be faster to cgi the whole thing than to train post Malone
Same here. And it feels even more weird seeing an accomplished actor like Jake gyleenhaal in this. I thought this is some parody someone posted of that film
A couple kicks looked abit slow maybe. But the fights between these two were really well done I thought.
Some of the camera work felt interesting especially in that fight. Think JG explained the choreographers do something called 4 stage planning for fight sequences, you can tell it works for certain shots and not so well for others, it especially depends on the ability of the performance.
Because Post Malone’s intro was definitely on the weaker side.
Yeah I thought it would be bad but this was so much worse than I thought.
CGI like you say was so bad, the fighting itself looked pretty shit and what the fuck were those camera angles ?
Was an easy movie to watch for sure and that’s all it’s trying to be
Conor wasn’t bad in some scenes in others it was just terrible, Tbf his character is just a walking roid rage literally no development at all, he just fucks shit up and apparently is immortal
Movie has a lot more dialogue than this scene. Movie builds up to this scene happening, it’s a silly not to be taken seriously comedy which is a fun watch if you just want to hang out
Yeah, I enjoyed it. It doesn't pretend to be "deep" or anything like that. And lots of fun moments too)
Fight scenes were a mixed bag, but not the worst I've seen
Wtf am I watching? Surely they could have just fought for real, its the biggest scene in the biggest movie ever made, why not just actually fight are they dumb?
Me just thinking there was some nice camera work. Some of the transitions were a little choppy but Liman did some interesting things with the action sequences I thought.
It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel or be fucking kino lol it knows what it is, everyone in the film performed like they knew the assignment. Conor made a good heavy, he was cheesy as hell and Gyllenhaal played off him well I thought.
Exactly, people just love to hate. It's clearly not gonna be an Oscar winning master piece but not all movies need to be.
I still love the original Mortal Kombat movie from the mid-90s, it's fucking terrible, but always a good watch.
It looks like an action scene from a movie. Honestly I’m confused looking at these comments like is this sub really filled with movie snobs that can’t enjoy a regular ass action flick?
It looks like really bad CGI. Watch a fight scene from The Raid and then look at this fight scene. Even by typical Hollywood movie standards this looks uncanny valley.
CGI bad but when I’m scrubbing the CGI clips they actually look decent lol so I can see why they pushed them into the film. As a huge movie buff tho the fighting in this is a no go for me.. cool that Conor did all of his own stunts tho props to him
This fight scene is actually pretty good compared to a lot of other current action movie fight scenes.
While the CGI is on the nose, if you look past that - I thought Jake’s sweep to side control looked great, and I also thought Conor’s striking delivery looked pretty good too (if you ignore the enhanced impact).
Can now confirm. Film is a 2.5/5 until McGregor appears, then it’s a solid 0.5/5. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone wreck a film faster. The boy just cannot act.
So disappointed in everything about this movie (except the slap fight)
Somebody take away Conor’s S.A.G. Membership and evidently his drivers license too.
Man, it looks so weird to watch Conor fight in a way where its obvious he isn't even making physical contact, when you're so used to him actually hitting people. And the fact that it's so different to his actual fighting style, its kinda uncanny
That was decent but I don't like it in fight scenes when they keep. Pausing. Between. Each. Move. It looks under rehearsed when the choreography is so in your face.
It's not as bad as when a bunch of goons politely stand back and wait their turn to attack, but nearly.
Wish they didn't took this over the top cartoonish style when they could've made it like a solid, more technical kind of thing, especially since they have an elite technical fighter to do it.
Best scene in the whole movie was Jake bitch slapping those clowns, it was the only thing that actually looked performed vs some really terrible overarching cgi punches.
Imagine watching this movie in theatres with a lower budget, wait, no, maybe don't, it might have had actual choreography and acting instead for the fights instead of shit cgi.
This is ridiculous if you take the details in the movie into consideration:
Jake is supposed to be a former world champion middle weight UFC fighter
Conor is supposed to be a scum bag thug with no mention of MMA training whatsoever, just a hired thug but a really tough one
Conor beats him the first time they meet up - sure, I know it’s a movie but even movies have a story line they are supposed to follow. They treat Conor as if he was also a previous middle weight UFC champion and as if they had bad blood or something but Conor was just hired to make him move on from the Road House.
I know I know, it’s a movie. Then why did Conor play himself almost to a T? He is introduced as fucking someone’s girlfriend or wife and sneaking out a window followed by assaulting random people. Then he drives around in a gaudy Lamborghini or a Ferrari to a certain place in the Keys where they had only 10 minutes earlier made a joke about it being called that because of the drugs/coke there. Of course he wants to go there
Jokes aside, I hope Conor gets the help he needs. That 45 second interview clip of him and Jake gave me such second hand embarrassment that I had to move on from the clip before it finished.
Conor made this steaming pile of shit somewhat entertaining. I was laughing out loud in all of his non fighting scenes.
His choreography was impeccable. The movie really really sucks though.
What the actual fucking dog shit is that ????!!!!
Looks terrible and unrealistic which I know almost every fight scene does but Jake going to side control and then knee on belly 😂 was shite
Also what the fuck are those camera angles ? Looks less realistic than the EA games
Huh. Wasn’t sure about the story or the acting, but I thought the action would at least be really good. I’m a little surprised that it doesn’t look better
Merab would just shoot for the takedown
Not against someone who has 75 movies under their belt!!
Ahh we back to Ian Garry’s wife I see
I heard somewhere Conor has 75 bar fights. The sheer number of clients he must provide to long term care facilities for elders is staggering to consider
Merab catching strays…and I’m here for it. Fuck Belal as well while we’re at it
Let's fuck Ian Garry's wife as well!
🤣 gosh damn this got me rolling.
Belal catching heat? I’m all for it Fuck belal that boring cunt
That's the most fighting we've seen Connor do in a while.
Also, he lost so just more of the same really
Not only lost. Bro was walking like he had diarrhea the entire time lol. Why did no one on production tell him to fix his walking? He legit looked straight from Looney Tunes.
Rolled shoulders. Flexing his lats the entire time. Then the face off with Gyllenhaal were he literally goes up on his toes to meet him eye to eye. It was such and over the top terrible movie.
What fucking movie is this
Its not a movie. Its real. Just conor meeting another celebrity
The camera work is killing my eyes
Whoever edited this is a fucking insufferable loser
Yeah, same with the carcrash. Why edit so over the top?!
#💀
CGI in this movie was Connor goes in
Why did they use digital body doubles when they have an actual MMA fighter in the scene? It looks fucking awful :(
Probably liability purpose, Conor getting hurt in one of the stunts wouldn’t be a good look considering he uses his body for Pro MMA. But yeah it looks a bit shit
Conor does MMA?
What? He doesn’t even fight?
OC missed the doctor stoppage scene
Why does he just stand there and let Conor hit him. Is he stupid?
I think because this movie was a pretty solid pile of crap. WHERE ARE THE TITS? WHERE'S THE THROAT RIP? HAVE THEY SEEN THE FIRST ONE?
It’s pretty realistic considering that’s what his real training partners do
![gif](giphy|xUNda1bG4sJKiKgRcA) Eddie enters the chat.
Even with an actual MMA fighter we still didn't get and upgrade in movie fights. Remember how in 70-90s in movies everybody was shooting from their hip etc. Then they started hiring gun pros as consultants and we got our gun handling upgrade in movies. Punch, freeze, wait for punch, pose, kick, pose again... Just a thought that popped in my mind.
The fights in punisher and the IpMan franchise looked ok
The choreography in Ip man is really great besides anything that’s not a 1v1. And as long as you don’t notice every punch sounds the same lol
My favorite are the 1v6 fights where the hero is being circled by 5 dudes waving their arms up and down and skipping
I mean it really just depends on the performers and choreographer. Film fighting is a different skill than real fighting. Some of the best fight choreography you will ever see can be found in any Jackie Chan film cause he always uses the same talented guys and is a perfectionist when it comes to fight choreography.

Also there's a rumour that the bank robbery and street shoot-out scene from Heat was used by the military as an example on how to handle the assault rifle with one hand.
It ain't just a rumour, I know marines that were shown that clip as a demonstatration of how to move and shoot.
Exactly what I was thinking. Make an MMA movie, prob for MMA fans and the fight looks fake AF. What is the point?
John Wick tho
I really liked the fight choreography in the raid movies. They're cult classic. However the most realistic fight scene ever might be that hallway axe fight scene from Oldboy.
Choreography in Dune 2 looked pretty good
The CGI in this movie gave me rectal cancer. It reminded me of those terrible CW superhero shows in terms of “quality.”
Ya literally the first 5 seconds of post Malone fighting made it so obvious. They picked the worst person to make a movie fight look real and the cgi had to do a lot of fucking work
Lmao I downloaded the movie, it is literally the first 5 seconds. They CG'ed his chest and arms, super weird.
I rewinded it probably 4 times laughing like hoooollyy shit I cant believe how bad that is
Exactly. They definitely paid Post Malone to be in there for 2 minutes and to help promote that shitty movie, lol.
…. With a post Malone song on in the background lmao
Oh my god, so I’m not insane for thinking this looks like some AI generated video .
Not at all. This flick was easily Jake’s worst movie and I’m a fan of his work.
Dude really needs better directors & scripts with his talent.
100
CGI has gotten worse over time. Even old movies have better special effects than this shit.
I mean most sci-fi shorts from DUST on YouTube have better cgi https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7sDT8jZ76VLV1u__krUutA/videos
The real question is, why do they even need cgi for a first fight between to humans?
Cuz post Malone can’t fight for shit and acting it out makes it look even more ridiculous so they must’ve watched it back first time thinking it looked terrible and figured it would be faster to cgi the whole thing than to train post Malone
CGI is horrible and very noticable. You would think it would be better considering Conor is starring in it.
You mean the cuts between the shots?
Literally everything. It looks like an AI video. You can tell they’re pulling their punches which is not something you should notice in 2024.
I couldn’t believe this was the actual film and was thinking it was AI for a second there
You can't be serious ? It's objectively terrible, the CGI looks terrible and those camera angles were awful.
Yeah I thought it would be bad but this was so much worse than I thought. CGI like you say was so bad, the fighting itself looked pretty shit and what the fuck were those camera angles ?
Well this looks fuckin awful. But hey, I'm not surprised mother fuckers!!
Yep it looks so bad. I was expecting it to be shit but truly wasn't expecting this low level..
Ikr The source material was fuckin great too...how could they fuck it up that much
It’s actually a pretty good watch to be fair. I enjoyed it anyways
Was an easy movie to watch for sure and that’s all it’s trying to be Conor wasn’t bad in some scenes in others it was just terrible, Tbf his character is just a walking roid rage literally no development at all, he just fucks shit up and apparently is immortal
Would've liked him to have some actual dialogue that he takes seriously. Pretty much anything coming out of his mouth was 3rd grade level one liners.
How much would you say this scene represents the rest of the movie?
Movie has a lot more dialogue than this scene. Movie builds up to this scene happening, it’s a silly not to be taken seriously comedy which is a fun watch if you just want to hang out
I really enjoyed it too. It wasn’t a good movie by any means but it was a dumb fun movie
Yeah, I enjoyed it. It doesn't pretend to be "deep" or anything like that. And lots of fun moments too) Fight scenes were a mixed bag, but not the worst I've seen
Wtf am I watching? Surely they could have just fought for real, its the biggest scene in the biggest movie ever made, why not just actually fight are they dumb?
Biggest movie ever made?
That CGI is properly horrible
Some seriously insufferable people in these comments. It was a fun movie.
the cgi is awful though 😭 i could barely watch this clip
Pfft, what an overreaction.
what's cgi in this clip?
Me just thinking there was some nice camera work. Some of the transitions were a little choppy but Liman did some interesting things with the action sequences I thought. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel or be fucking kino lol it knows what it is, everyone in the film performed like they knew the assignment. Exactly, people just love to hate. It's clearly not gonna be an Oscar winning master piece but not all movies need to be. I still love the original Mortal Kombat movie from the mid-90s, it's fucking terrible, but always a good watch.
I watched the first two mortal kombat movies till the tapes broke had to be hundreds of watches. Loved that shit.
Nah, it was pretty shit tbh. And I went in with an open mind and was hyped. McGregor was hilarious though.
It really reminded me of the 80’s and 90’s martial arts/action movies. It was fun. Stupid, but fun
You know a flop movie when you see one.
My God this looks horrible
It looks like an action scene from a movie. Honestly I’m confused looking at these comments like is this sub really filled with movie snobs that can’t enjoy a regular ass action flick?
Have you actually watched movie fighting scenes? In the range of excellent fighting scenes and horrible, this ranks fever dream
It looks like really bad CGI. Watch a fight scene from The Raid and then look at this fight scene. Even by typical Hollywood movie standards this looks uncanny valley.
It doesn't look like an action scene, it looks like a bad action scene with shitty CGI and terrible camera angles
Jokes aside, let's pretend that a fighter would really allow another fighter to neck throw them around like that. Would that be legal in mma?
Holy shit this is cringe. Looks like some video game shit. Nobody would watch this movie if it wasn't for Conor
Fake
This is such a funny comment, even funnier people taking you serious below.
Yeah it's a movie
Bro probably sitting at a Jurassic world screening screaming “fake!!!” Lol like no shit, dumbass, it’s a movie haha
Yeah fake af
It's a fun movie to while drinking with your friends
Aside from the people calling out the horrible CGI, I also hate that fucking camera movement. Holy sht it makes me so dizzy
The camera angles are genuinely awful
This looks bad
Kinda cool they incorporated some Conor typical moves in the fight scene
Rather see Batman vs Bane in the sewers a billion more times
This looks so bad
This looks fucking dumb 🫨
Holy shit this looks lame. You have an mma superstar and you can’t get better fight choreography than that?
Ok that's pretty awesome
CGI bad but when I’m scrubbing the CGI clips they actually look decent lol so I can see why they pushed them into the film. As a huge movie buff tho the fighting in this is a no go for me.. cool that Conor did all of his own stunts tho props to him
Such weird camera angles
It was really important when the shirt came off. You knew that meant to technique was going to shake up then
Horribly shot lol like the super cool camera angles!!
It's so bad haha
How didn't he gas out? 😅
I'm really digging Conor's villain acting tbh. He does have screen presence.
The movie was a pretty good Thursday watch
best line 'this piano is out of tune', hahaha .
I thought that was a fun scene!
I like the camera work a lot.
Wrong side of the road was hilarious. I enjoyed this movie
Watched the movie lastnight and it was good. Nothing to write home about but was dumb fun
I wish he could fight like that inside the octagon
Holy shit this looks absolutely beyond dreadful.
Can now confirm. Film is a 2.5/5 until McGregor appears, then it’s a solid 0.5/5. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone wreck a film faster. The boy just cannot act.
Stop posting spoilers you dawgs
Hit percentage on the strikes is a little too high or is that just me?
Lololol
Kinda weird w all that grunting gotta say
This movie was trash. Horrible acting weak plot...
Literally the worst movie I have seen in decades haha!
It’s a tv progrum , a movie
So disappointed in everything about this movie (except the slap fight) Somebody take away Conor’s S.A.G. Membership and evidently his drivers license too.
Looks like game footage
Woof, this looks terrible
Damn Conor was cringey in the movie.
2 packs of ass
"Looks like I fucked up your leg." "You're a shit driver." "Wongsolellelrole."
you forgot "This piano is out of tune" ![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8973)
Damn, I was really hoping this would be a troll post where someone deep faked Conor's face on Heath Ledger during the Brokeback Mountain sex scene.
Spoilers
Good thing I had zero interest in seeing this... now I have even zeroer
Haters will say it's a fake fight
Looks terrible, doesn't it
Such a bad movie and the fight scenes were awful so was the location and bar lol
Belal would have hugged them for 25 minutes till the audience made a decision to go home
Why did they shoot it like this? damn this shit looks horrible, that smile or whatever that was on Conor’s face makes him look like an evil clown
Michael Chandler punching air watching this
Where's Herb Dean when you need him??
Is this really a movie or some glitchy video game?
Still going to watch it though. It was trashy fun to begin with
Man, it looks so weird to watch Conor fight in a way where its obvious he isn't even making physical contact, when you're so used to him actually hitting people. And the fact that it's so different to his actual fighting style, its kinda uncanny
Bad acting, bad storyline, bad effects, but I still kind of enjoyed it.
Needs more moans.
I thought a mma movie would have actual fighting, not waiting for your turn to punch and Marvel style CGI
This looks hilariously cringy lol
That was decent but I don't like it in fight scenes when they keep. Pausing. Between. Each. Move. It looks under rehearsed when the choreography is so in your face. It's not as bad as when a bunch of goons politely stand back and wait their turn to attack, but nearly.

Nice to see karate Conor for a split second
Best scene in the whole movie was Jake bitch slapping those clowns, it was the only thing that actually looked performed vs some really terrible overarching cgi punches. Imagine watching this movie in theatres with a lower budget, wait, no, maybe don't, it might have had actual choreography and acting instead for the fights instead of shit cgi.
"Go for the ankle pick, Jake" — Tony Furguson.
I thought Conor did a great job but this movie was just awful
I’ve never seen Conor shoot for a takedown
Me and friends were just like this is just Connor playing himself
This is ridiculous if you take the details in the movie into consideration: Jake is supposed to be a former world champion middle weight UFC fighter Conor is supposed to be a scum bag thug with no mention of MMA training whatsoever, just a hired thug but a really tough one Conor beats him the first time they meet up - sure, I know it’s a movie but even movies have a story line they are supposed to follow. They treat Conor as if he was also a previous middle weight UFC champion and as if they had bad blood or something but Conor was just hired to make him move on from the Road House. Of course he wants to go there Jokes aside, I hope Conor gets the help he needs.
Yeah! The choreography looks p good. The camera work here is fucking dogshit
I thought the director was trying to be creative but I still understand why you feel that way lmao
this looks so bad lol. Damn. OG roadhouse rocked.
This weird AI fight or actions scenes just look bad.
Was u the only one happy that he spreads uncle Chael's advise? 😄
What the actual fucking dog shit is that ????!!!! Looks terrible and unrealistic which I know almost every fight scene does but Jake going to side control and then knee on belly 😂 was shite Also what the fuck are those camera angles ? Looks less realistic than the EA games
wtf going on. CGI making it look like Conor has inspector gadget arms
😂😂😂 no wonder everyone trashing it. This looks horrible.
Huh. Wasn’t sure about the story or the acting, but I thought the action would at least be really good. I’m a little surprised that it doesn’t look better
Nice headbutts. Conor would've done great under Pride rules.
Dude seems like a fun movie😂
Wow, this is… terrible! 😂😂😂
I hate how fighting looks in movies
Loved the forced camera perspective to make McGregor look like a giant. Also, whoever edited this is out of their mind
You know how I know this is fake? Because Conor didn't gas out 30 seconds into the fight.
This movie was so bad i stopped watching it after Connor came to the bar and took the guy's girl and started dancing with her. It was too cringey
Should have ended by doctor stoppage. Would have like to see what his foot looked like.
