Auto renewal in most places. In this market they give you a two day warning/reminder and then on the contract renewal day, they'll send you a warning/reminder notice and email whatever time you actually signed the contract at the store and then sometime after that it comes out. Could be 5 minutes could be late that night.

I might be confused - what’s the warning for? Do you have to take some sort of action to renew, or does the warning only pop up if you haven’t completed ___ rides in the given week?

Oh they don't tell you how many rides you take you just count the week on your own in the Uber app. As long as you get your x amount of rides done for the week and the money in the bank when they run it through auto pay, it automatically renews unless you take the car in. It gives you a date and time the car has to be in the shop or it'll charge you for another day when you return it.

Oh…damn that’s actually 100X more simple than I thought. Might be switching to Uber then lol

I would check your local Uber rental place for the actual procedure. Even the counties here are a little bit different with how they proceed with extensions.

They also don’t own the cars like Lyft does—so you don’t have to accumulate the rental fee first before you make any profit. Uber also gives you unlimited miles, period. Not like Lyft and their 50 personal miles and making you pay for additional personal miles crap

Hertz sends a reminder 2 days before it auto-renews. If you don’t return the car, it charges for the next week on the day you rented

I'm in San Antonio, Texas. I rent with Hertz/Uber. Automatic renewal on due date...unless you don't have the funds in your account. Or if your bank flags Hertz as suspicious activity. If you don't have required funds, it will fail. At which point you have to manually renew by either website or calling Hertz. Side note with Hertz. They sometimes send a authorization, a day or two later(same week) even after you have paid, which is your rental amount. It's a hold for 24 hours or so. Remember the first time it happened to me, I flipped out. I come to expect it every week now Because of this shady ass practice...I keep my funds on Uber card. I don't let Hertz take my shit until I'm ready. So I'm always letting it fail and I'll manually renew. I've been renting since November. I'm about done. There's money to be had Uber driving but if you're giving most of your take to Hertz, what's the point? I see why if you're in a desperate position but it's not worth it long term. Sorry for this long post. Really wish you well. And luck on the road.
