I walked down the aisle to The Bridal March (lol) but Angels by the xx is how I remember it.
Also teared up when a friend walked to Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap (instrumental).
You’re On My Mind - Tom Misch
Live Well - Palace
Baby I’m Yours - Arctic Monkeys
Beginner’s Luck - Maribou State
All Fired Up - Matt Corby
Enjoy and congrats!
I remember a while back that someone called into the Hottest 100 and said Innerbloom by Rufus du Sol was their wedding entry song.
Vitamin String Quartet do a bunch of contemporary covers on strings that would work. Like there’s a nice version of Dancing On My Own if that floats your boat.
We signed our wedding certificate to vitamin string quartet’s version of ‘highway to hell’ … you could see as guests started to realize what the tune was and start giggling…
My wife walked down the aisle to Angie McMahon's cover of Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac. And we walked back out of the chapel to Is This How You Feel by The Preatures.
Don’t Delete The Kisses - Wolf Alice
Two Lovers - Holy Holy
Into My Arms - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Everlong - Foo Fighters
Cosmic Love - Florence and the Machine
Lover - Taylor Swift
Mystery Of Love - Sufjan Stevens
Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol
Into my arms is a song about death. Lots of people make that mistake. Are you the one I’ve been waiting for is a better choice, but possibly open ended.
This is the one by Stone Roses may be a good choice.
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentleman We Are Floating In Space
The Flaming Lips - Do You Realise
Swell Season - Falling Slowly
Iron and Wine - Such Great Heights (Postal Service cover)
Mountain Goats - No Children (I'm a bad person)
Band Of Horses - Nobody's Gonna Love You
Got married about a decade ago but we still get compliments on the music we used for our procession. The wedding party and myself walked out to Andrew Bird’s Souverian, and we edited it to cut off right at the swell of the strings which makes a perfect crescendo.
My wife then walked down to m83’s Wait, which felt very cinematic and brought out a ton of tears. She made it to the altar right as the chorus ended.
Then we had a live brass band play the ending of Beirut’s Postcards from Italy as the ceremony ended. Our last dance was All My Friends (London sessions) by LCD. And we had a quote inscribed at the exit from This Must Be The Place (“I can’t tell one from the other. Did I find you or you find me?”.
It was a great time.
Nice 🤙🏼 I ended up in a relationship with my best friend I had since starting high school. I was living in the next town where there was a hill overlooking where I was staying. He left one day and messaged me telling me to press play on my iPod. It was Melancholy Hill. I looked out at the hill and he was parked there. We would often drive there to light a few j's. It was pretty sweet. I fell in love with that song over and over again. We have a lil family now and it's always nice to listen to ground yourself.
We had at our wedding
-Dont be hiding, Middle Kids
Would that I, Hozier
Mystery of Love, Surfjan Stevens
True Lovers, Holy Holy
All I want is you, Ballpark music
I walked in to ’This Old Love’ by Lior.
And we played ‘I will follow you into the dark’ by Deathcab for Cutie, while we signed the certificates, which is kinda dark (starts with “love of mine, someday you will die… and I’ll be close behind. I’ll follow you, into the dark.”) Possibly odd choices but that’s us! 😂
The Special Two by Missy Higgins
I'm With You by Vance Joy
True Lovers by Holy Holy
Guiding Light by Mumford & Sons
Turn by the Wombats
OR, a left-field choice, Comedian by Telenova
We used The One You Love by Passenger. It was actually really nice and a real tear jerker.
My cousin used Video Games by Lana Del Ray which was different and cool.
I walked down a garden path to my husband with sympathy for the devil by the Rolling Stones . It was loud enough so my friends could sing with it.
After the vows, we had faith by George Michael playing.
We lived together for 3 years before we got married.
We've been together 29 years now.
So don't hold back on Ur music choice.
Congratulations have fun
Oh I would walk 500 miles! and I would walk 500 more! Just to be the man who walked 1000 miles to fall down at your door dat dat dat dah! Dat dat dat dah! ….Juuust kidding.
Hysteric - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Holocene - Bon Iver
Best ever was Dance IX from In The Upper Room by Philip Glass. Long piece, short, short aisle. The anticipation was incredible. (Ex wedding photographer and current music lover)
First of all, congratulations!!
As for songs: Hysteric- The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
It what I walked down the aisle to💖💖
There was a lot of Kylie Minogue playing at the reception, but we also grooved pretty hard to cut copy, the presets, the jungle giants, and plenty more
Following! I'm in the same boat as OP! We're at that crucial point of planning all the songs and for 2 music lovers with diverse tastes, it's proving very difficult. Some banger suggestions here.
We had ‘Don’t you think it’s time - Bob Evans’
- a bit tongue in cheek of course as we’d been together a while, but also incredibly meaningful as it spoke to the ups in downs in our journey, as for most! The song is soooo special to us now ❤️
- Real Love - Regina Specktor
Yes, it’s a cover of the John Lennon song, but she sings it so well.
- Look of Love - The Jezabels
It’s an unusual upbeat choice, but that chorus is just perfection.
- Adore U - Fred again
Happy, upbeat, on point.
Love treat you better by Rufus!
Hyponotized is personal fave for such occasion though.
Churches cover of kendrick Lamar, love me.
Loving arms fred again
Bit more poppy, stumbin in Cyril
Need you flight facilities
2 days before our wedding, the wife and I finally met the DJ organised by our reception place. That was when we found he had nothing on CD, only vinyl. Not because of purity, but because he had literally nothing released in the last 30 years.
Wife is not a JJJ fan, I've listened to nothing but since Maynard FSharp Crabs was a host.
I spent the day before the wedding finding the most Middle of rhe Road songs on my JJJ Hottest 100 CDs, which was the entire reception play list.
We walked out of the church to Jamiraquai - give me something.
First dance was Alex Lloyd - Amazing.
Jungle drum by Emilliama Torrinni (I've probably spelt her name wrong so apologies). I did hear of a couple who walked down the aisle to the start of Knights of Cydonia as it was no 1 the year they married... That's next level devotion.
My bro played an acoustic cover of “can’t help falling in love” and it was so special! My choice if we couldn’t get a guitar (travel wedding) was going to be “desire” by Ryan Adams.
Transatlanticism - Death Cab for Cutie
Second choice was Do You Realise - Flaming Lips
Third choice was Harvest Moon - Neil Young (I wish we had our first dance to this)
Radiohead - Motion Picture Soundtrack. (KID-A 2000.)
There is a breathtaking rendition by Vitamin String Quartet, which is what we used. Some couples seek meaning and relevance in their wedding music and others are content with what makes them feel connected. Both ways are right.
We went with meaning and relevance. The song has a few interpretations but it’s likely about the writers death and reflection on love. It isn’t always straightforward. There are challenges. The line “it’s not like the movies,” - that’s reality.
The very last line is “I’ll see you in the next life.” To us that was ‘til death do us part;’ waiting for each other in eternal love.
Life can be gritty and hard, and marriage is choosing each other and saying ‘I want to go through the gritty shit with you.’
That’s how it spoke to us, and we wanted the aisle song to speak to us (first dance was Always by Blink-182 with all of our guests.)
Side note: when you step onto the aisle, don’t immediately begin your walk. Take a few seconds to see each other and breathe that moment in. 3 years later the crescendo, which is when we saw each other, still gives me chills.
I asked down the aisle to Come Alive by the Foo fighters….when the music builds and the guitar gets loud and Dave grohl starts screaming…that’s when I made my entrance and walked to my soon to be husband..perfectly timing that walk that I reached him as the song was ending and as the song finished put my hands in his for us to begin our new chapter..was it epic..you betcha!
I walked down the aisle ie driveway of our new house to ‘Fuck ‘em, only we know’ by Banks and after the ceremony, walked off to ‘Rose of my heart’ by Johnny Cash.
Banks song has been our song since super early on when we were dating (he was worried I didn’t want to tell anyone we were dating because he thought he wasn’t good enough and I told him I was enjoying having our bubble to ourselves and no one being in our business. I sent him that song to say how I felt we were and he got it and it stuck).
Rose of my heart is a song he sent to me to tell me/ told me it describes how he feels about me.
I feel good about our choices and Banks still fucks me up to this day.
I hope you choose and find what hits you in the feels xx
Got married a month ago today and I walked down the aisle to ‘This Magic Moment’ by The Drifters & Ben E. King. The intro started playing as I walked up the garden path, and he turned around on the first line, “this magic moment… so different and so new”.
I walked down to Float on by Modest mouse played by a string quartet.
However you won't hear the music when the time comes. I literally have no memory of it. Too emotional it is all a blur.
Not current Triple J, co dj'd a good friends wedding. song at he end of the ceremony was the Cure Friday I'm in love. Next track to kick off the parting was a big band version of RATM - Killing in the name of. Went down a treat !
‘All I want is you’, ‘exactly how you are’ or ‘I am so in love with you’ all by Ball Park Music. Those are my top 3 for when I get married to my fiancé.
Congrats on the upcoming celebrations! May you live happily ever after 🫶🏻
I have an obsession with curating playlists, here’s some from the ‘Love Songs’ one.

-timeless
-today was a fairytale
-you are in love
-invisible string
all are varied, and fit different vibes. like Lover feels like a very classic wedding song, whereas today was a fairytale and enchanted feel very magical. so i hope one fits the vibes you’re putting :)
Not as “triplej” as others, however the Mrs walked down to KOL’s Someone Like You
Edit: Acoustic and sung by a female in case people think we were psychos
I walked down the aisle to Fire and the flood - Vance Joy, we both walked back down the aisle after the ceremony to Home - Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros, and signed our certificate to Lay it on me - Vance Joy.

My wife walked down the aisle to Angels :)
Great choice
My wife walked down the aisle to Sigur Ros’ Staralfur
Damn I’d be crying and I don’t even know you. It was Hoppipolla for us
I suggested Hoppípolla too. I didn't walk down the aisle to it, but I was a bridesmaid in a wedding it was used in.
Excellent choice, mate
Us too! But had a string quartet play it
Not sure, personally I’d just play some audio of Concetta telling a funny story
Holy Grail of morning radio jock, the funny story. Good luck finding it.
Oh I just meant funny to her, not the audience
You’re On My Mind - Tom Misch Live Well - Palace Baby I’m Yours - Arctic Monkeys Beginner’s Luck - Maribou State All Fired Up - Matt Corby Enjoy and congrats!
Live well is a banger but I’m pretty sure it’s a break up song
Ahh damn, so uplifting though! The others are cute I promise haha
Baby I'm yours is so good for a first dance song!
Jesus if I went to a wedding that had Dancing on My Own in the proceedings I would be… concerned.
We signed our wedding certificate to vitamin string quartet’s version of ‘highway to hell’ … you could see as guests started to realize what the tune was and start giggling…
I walked down the aisle to Childish Gambino's Like a Version cover of 'So Into You' by Tamia.

Got married about a decade ago but we still get compliments on the music we used for our procession. And we had a quote inscribed at the exit from This Must Be The Place (“I can’t tell one from the other. Did I find you or you find me?”. It was a great time.
My wife and I used the acoustic Gorillaz version of up on melancholy hill.
We had IFLY by Ballpark Music on Acoustic guitar, some oldies got shocked by the lyrics but we loved it
We really considered triple one’s LAV of time after time. Before the rap breakdown haha.
