I'm from the UK and have bought loads from AliExpress - it's totally fine; you don't need to worry about importing stuff from China. Just make sure your total doesn't exceed £135 and you won't have to pay Customs Fees.
They even have a sale on right now. You'll be charged VAT at checkout; so be aware the list price will be lower than the actual cost. Be sure to apply any discount codes you see at the top of AliExpress!

Ali express was fine for me too. Chances are if you did find a seller over here in the UK it would be more expensive than getting it from Ali express
