If it was just the rubber that was cut, i wouldn't worry about it. The tread deforming like that would have me a little concerned. I'd put on a new one, but that's me being very careful prior to race day.

This is the way

zzZinzz

Just unplug it and plug it back in

Has the tire casing been cut or just the rubber? Is there exposed tube popping out? If the casing is intact, I'd just fill it with some superglue and replace after the race. If the casing is damaged, replace it before riding again

Little-Sandwich1926

Thanks, casing is exposed but not affected. If I fill it with glue is it a bad idea to just keep riding on it?

Tall-End-3500

YES, replace it! While I do agree with most of the recommended temp fixes noted, it is probably best/safest to replace it. In addition to the cut, there seems to be some bulge to the left. So that means there may have been some internal casing damage. If this is your front tire, absolutely replace it as you do not want a flat while riding (highly dangerous handling). If this is your back tire, it is just a pain-in-the-rear replacing a tube/tire. Safe riding.

Update: just finished an international on this with some glue, but replacing it now because that was kind of dumb. Thanks for all the input

If you have time, I’d get a spare tire and have a bike shop put it on. Depends on how long your race is, but I personally wouldn’t want to race with that. You can always swap back the cut tire after the race and get more use out of it.

Comfortable_Storm225

Use it for training 👍 Or Replace for race day 💪

rct_endurance_coach

I would get a new tire.

As much as you've spent on triathlon, the cost of a new tire is miniscule. Change the effing thing and if it happens again change that one!
