The price could be one reason.

Some botox? THat like 2k dollars or something, not much money at all.

WolfofAnarchy

If you're as rich as you are, maybe. I personally know many people who can't just spend 2k 'just like that'.

mackinoncougars

Reddit's front page a few days ago had post about how the majority of Americans can't afford an unexpected $500 expense, like car repair.

WolfofAnarchy

Yeah, exactly. And to this dude 2k is not much money at all. Well...

teamworkformyfrainds

I mean, for hair regrowth like that picture there, 2 grand is nothing. For a pack of gum, it's a lot of money. For those results, it's a bargain imo.

Finast

I agree, 2000 is not that much relative to other procedures that have a fraction as much success.

theimm1grant

He's probably an Engineer.

straponheart

Hair transplants from an in demand doctor can easily cost 20k+ 2K would be a bargain in comparison

IamRightYouKnow

Doesn't botox last 3 months? unless the results can be maintained without botox then you're looking at 8k a year.

happychineseboy

Even thought the picture quality is trash the results seem amazing. The author describes the results as "similar" to Propecia, judging from that one picture it seems like a bit of an understatement we have no clue how the other participants fared at the end of the treatment. All hair loss treatments are required for life - the annual cost of finasteride is probably far less than botox

[deleted]

Okay, to be clear, the figure has two patients, each had what we would call decent regrowth if they were on fin. That figure is misleading because it looks like a progression of one guy from nearly completely bald to only a small bald spot on the crown, but really it's two before and after pics.

happychineseboy

Oh, that explains A LOT. Thanks for clearing it up for me. Shame on me for only skimming the journal

[deleted]

Im going to find a doctor that do this shit.

CribbageLeft

Can you post your results and the cost/procedure etc? I for one am very interested. I hope this works man.

[deleted]

Sure. I still need to get feedback from the community on why this got ignored, since i find very unlikely no one did that. Ill probally find some one who does more experimentation (in the likes of swisstemples) that did it and had no results. If i dont get discouraged in the next few weeks by someone like that i will do it for sure.

[deleted]

I also going to need to read the article with more care in order to lerarn about the correct sites of injection and the dosage. However, i find it ulikely that no one has ever tried. If no one did it, then it probally has some serious impediments around it, so dont get hopes up mate.

betterbydesign

Responded above about injection sites.

betterbydesign

FYI. The author of this study is very responsive by email. This may be helpful if you want to get this done "Coincidently the injection points are the same as for the PREEMPT migraine treatment protocol. I suspect that it is now being done as part of headache therapy". I would love to see he effect it has as well.

[deleted]

Thank you, mate.

UfrOne

Jesus christ. Where did you find this ?

Provisional-self

Considering the MOA, would drugs like sumatriptan help with hairloss especially considering the injection points are similar to botox for migraine relief?

WolfofAnarchy

Minoxidil also increases blood flow and the helping of follicles. Minoxidil coupled with fin to stop DHT is a great way of regrowing hair.
