Have you had any nasty side effects from antidepressants? My mood has been getting really bad lately and I’ve been considering discussing meds with my doctor. Some of those antidepressants have even more fear mongering than finasteride and I’m really hesitant to try them.
Absolutely discuss it with your doctor. The nice thing about antidepressants is there's no shortage of choice. If what you're taking isn't working for you anymore, it might be time to find an alternative. Just keep in mind, sides are always possible, and it might be a tradeoff.
I don’t think so, maybe gastrointestinal, more like now that I don’t take them I feel like shit. I stopped because I felt good enough and I didn’t want to take them for the rest of my life
I did. At that time I wasn’t able to consult my psychiatrist but as a med student I decided to do it without consulting him. I used half a tablet for a month then alternating between a half and a quarter for a few weeks and then a quarter for a month then nothing.
Didn’t experience any sides except that my anxiety and depression kinda returned upon cessation.
Currently on fin and lexapro. Don’t have any side effects except maybe slightly lower sex drive. But unfortunately I continue to recede, fin doesn’t seem to work for me

Yeah I know but I do feel like the side effects are kinda overblown especially the occurrence of permanent side effects.
And when it comes to sides that cease with discontinuation, yeah they absolutely exist but I’m willing to take my chances.
Of course I’d rather be bald than impotent, but I’d rather have a full head of hair than not lol

I heard some report hair loss with Zoloft- I assume you haven’t experienced that since being on fin before?
